I know if you don't have anything nice don't say it at all , but I did not like this show at all. Did'nt like the guy , did'nt like this crappy theme , the stories and character's really were'nt that great or memorable , And the car other than looking awesome did'nt really do all that much. @CWMaster1000 Comparing old KiTT to Viper is like comparing apples to oranges. Yes both are fruit (Cars), but you have to think of where each cars strength lies. KiTT was designed to fight crime with minimal human casualties (Hence no weapons and why he has an AI system so he can make his own decisions) while Viper was basically a weapon on wheels (Hence why it has a combat system but no AI. It's meant to work under the hands of a human).

In short, Viper and KiTT are kickass in their own ways.

LanceIt666, I agree with you. The older Knight Rider with David Hasslehoff was different. It might be cheezy now, but at least David made a certain bond with the car on screen. Besides K.I.T.T. never had gatling guns, and etc. He had equipment that was needed. The canceled Knight Rider .. They should have called it the f-22 raptor. The cast didn't have the connection on screen. The original is always better. Daryws, tbh. I don't know the name of the episode where the Viper is destroyed.

The red Viper was destroyed in Season 3 near the end of the finale. Yes, I've watched the show many many times over. It was better than the new "Knight Rider." Notice anything similar between the "Defender" also known as "Viper." And K.I.T.T. "Knight Industries Three Thousand." Voiced by Val Kilmer.

You know it's funny: when I first tuned in to Viper, I was at the season that had Cole and Allie Farrel. Later on, Farrel is gone and Cole mysteriously leaves the show and I see this new guy named Astor driving the Viper. The Astor guy was way better than Cole and I was curious to know more about his story...

Here is the backstory of Joe Astor in a nutshell. Astor is an ex-convict who was formely known as Michael Payton, a professional thief. He was the leader of the "Outfit" and during one heist, he was getting away from the cops in a Dodge Stealth, when he got distracted and was in a bad accident. He was officially pronounced dead at the scene, but he was still alive, underwent some minor plastic surgery and was reborn as Joe Astor. So, yes, Astor is a far more fascinating person than Cole. :)

Despite the fact that Astor was a criminal, he never wanted to hurt or kill people, there was always some shred of humanity in him, which would explain why thieves are the nicest lot of criminals. :)

It would be alot easier if we could just get this series on DVD to explain the backstory. They completely remade the series after the first season, making the Viper Project part of MetroPol and opting to go with the former CIA operative Cole over the more skilled prior criminal Astor/Payton. I liked every season, but it was sad that they discarded Julian Wilkes...I rather liked him being on the project. Honestly, though...I truly hated Ally...and Dawn Stern simply cannot act for beans.

Knight rider cannot compare to Viper. Kit was voiced by George Feeney from boy meets world. The Viper can morph and swim and dozens of other things. Its a modern day batmobile. and cameron westlake is the modern day batgirl. HOT!

Even as an avid Knight Rider fan, I don't really think either is really better than the other because they have different approaches. KITT is a character among the cast, whereas the Viper is more like the Batmobile or James Bond's Aston Martin. It's cool absolutely, but it plays a different role (mainly it's the ride of the characters). In addition, from the onset KITT is said to be the supercar's supercar. The Viper makes no such claim.

Yes there were 4 variations of the music in the 4th season intro as true with every intro to VIPER, the german episodes aren't the best for that because they are recorded differently than the north american episodes.
