The part about: When you unclothe yourselves is an Allegory for mental selfcontrol, Meditation and ridding the mind of limited perceptions (Dogmas and Brainwashings)then the Christ shall be revealed unto you, as you deny self and the ways of the flesh (ego, desires and pride of life) and not be ashamed or afraid too be a true worshiper(one with Christ).

I think if I where to belive in a god it would bee something like you described it, only he wouldn't be all good since good and evil is relative terms, the only things that I don't understand then is why should he send a person to tell us about him, why do this god want to be known?

I give the theory a low probability, on par with Jesus actually having walked on water. But I don't think I've seen it presented by anyone who I thought had a good understanding of Christianity.

I guess it depends on what you mean by a good understanding. Depending on what version of mythicism you're referring to you're going to need a spectacular divide from the knows and the know nots. If it was a myth I believe it would make more sense, have a more cohesive plot, not some dude saying a few crazy things before he was executed. People naturally fictionalize factual things not factualize fictional things.

I think the story of the south pacific Cargo Cults, and their messiah (Joe Crumb, a British or American [depending on who you ask] soldier) can show you how the Jesus myth is plausible. These are every bit as nonsensical as the Jesus story, but we actually know their messiah didn't exist.

I don't own the book so I can't suggest the books/movies he did, but I do think you should read the book. It touches on the Cargo Cults and can direct you better than I can in this search for truth

SH, your views of "god" appears to be that of a Deist, coupled with a rejection gnosticism. What I do not understand is why you added Jesus to the mix: that seems totally unnecessary to me when talking about an unknowable and unfathomable god.

I would consider myself much more of a Gnostic then a Deist but I don't really fall into either category. People need to know that Jesus was talking about an unknown unknowable god and not a genie, it's one of the hurdles people seem to have with accepting Christ.
