Wireless doesn’t stand along all wireless is based upon a wired and fiber optic infrastructure. Now more that ever wireless is dependent on the Fiber Optic infrastructure with 3G and 4G networks coming main stream the demand for OC3s and OC12s optic network is now their bread and butter . In the CO we are the techs that install and maintain these Hi Speed CKTs. VZ would like to say the all wireline does is Dial Tone and FiOS that’s totally not true. We also install Hi speed Internet ckts also
Really?? I have been a "CWA puke" for 40 years and I have meet and worked with so called "contractors" I wouldn't let turnup my toilet. I made over $90,000 last year and am retiring this year with $140,000 severance pay, my 401k with matching company funds and my pension. What about you?
Don't hate! Just because you're unemployed and unemployable due your disablility (it's obvious looking at your spelling) don't stand in the way of those of us with normal intelligence. I imagine that your EVER being in a position to fire anyone is about as likely as pigs taking flight.
@collagevmp oh im not unemployed or unemployable i have been steadily working as a contract splicer for 28 years i am curently doing quality inspections on at&t property,i see why the union has to protect your jobs.we hold ourselves to higher standards due to pride.i havent met a cwa or ibew puke that i would even let carry my toolbag. oh yea if you knew how much money we make contracting it would be easy to see why we could afford to buy a union protected job,but elect to have some pride .
has anyone seen the updates we are getting what kind of progress are they taking about i say we go now I want a contract and i want it now at&t has had plenty of time to work something out this 60/40 bullshit has to go we receive word that everything was worked out except healthcare but yet still no word maybe the peope at the bargining tabe need to be replaced
I work for ATT in Ohio. We just ratified our contract. If you want, Ill tell you some of the things we recieved up here. And maybe it will give you an idea of what to expect down there.
We are also developing professional resource pages to help find the Doctors and other professionals that have experience working with communications workers. Great news, we are also working with local delis and restaurants for deals on breakfast and lunch. TelephoneTechTalkcom and TheChatBoardscom.
TelephoneTechTalk I developed TelephoneTechTalk to allow communications workers from around the neighborhood and around the country to communicate with each other and become a resource to our fellow communications employees. Find out whats going on in your neighboring garage, central office, retail wireless store, equipment manufacturing plant or on top of the closet cell tower. Landline, wireless, fiber optics, equipment manufacturers and cable. Everybody is welcome.
A "fair" contract is one that lets BOTH WORKERS and MANAGEMENT share in the fruits of AT&T's success. The retrogressive cutbacks that MANAGEMENT is requiring of us WORKERS (represented by CWA) is not only UNFAIR, but CRUEL. How is $40K - $70K a year per employee too much to ask when we provide industry-leading service and support in all technological spheres, and our company is financially sound and thriving? How is company-paid health insurance too much to ask when management enjoys EVEN MORE?
Unions are NOT what drove GM to it's current state, George Bush and idiot managers did. The reason why the country is in a recession now is because the average consumer has no money to spent and THAT"S because the majority of the workers real wages have not increased in the last 20 years. You can't maintain the largest econmy in the world on walmart wages.
While unions may have once served an important place in society, they have outlived their purpose as useful. Unions drive companies to the edge of profitability and oftentimes over that chasm, straight to bankruptcy. Healthcare costs, which are at issue here, are precisely what drove GM into the rut that it currently resides in. AT&T deserves credit for the conciliatory nature that it has maintained, even in the face of such greed. Neither side is perfect, but the Union is far less so.
give me a break, strike at ATT, thats almost laughable. if most locals are as bad as 3804, then all most want is that signing bonus. conatract? whats that, hell, it seems the only thing that a contract is for is for ATT to slap the hell out of our reps.
