  • I cry every time

  • fuck em, bunch of bloodsucker war mongers. They get gold card and bludge of tax payers because sixty years ago they were in the army for bloody 5 years,

  • Outstanding god bess Australia and our allies

  • I'm a Yank myself, and that poem and tune always make me tear up...

  • Maybe we should remember the living and not the dead, sad though it is life must go on, please remember the living too.

  • To the 2 people who disliked this.

Go away and try and get some respect and honour because i doubt that you have either one of those qualities.this is dedicated to our ancestors and their bravery.

i am proud that my ancestors were brave enough to face the challenge of battle. Are you?

  • "lest we forget" doesnt pay them enough justice. It should be - NEVER AGAIN!!!!

  • there's no problem with WW2

BUT the Anzac Day Act 1966 also includes the south African war- where the brits used "scorched earh policy" and concentration camps. Also, 4 of the other wars were fought against socialism: Vietnam, Korea, Malay, & Borneo.

to cut it real short, these western fascists do NOT deserve to be remembered

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY Yes, where as the perversion of marxist philosophy does. If you aren't interested in being Australian, please feel free to fuck off.

  • Great clip...As an Aussie now living in New Zealand...it makes me proud to March with my 9 year old son who wears his Great Grandfathers Campaign Medals...3 years over there including ''Flanders Fields''.

  • Makes me proud to be Australian. Never forget what the diggers gave for us. Lest we forget.

  • I'm am going to ignore ALL negative comments that have been posted here. Australia, together with New Zealand, went into battle blind. Hardly any of these young men were trained or ready for the battle lying ahead of them. My Great Uncles, Great Grandfathers, Grandfathers enlisted and fought in this war, and many other Australian's and New Zealander's can say the same. We thank these hero's for putting their life on the line, for what we have today. THEY ARE TRUE HERO'S! Lest We Forget ♥

  • @melmakk1221 Just one more thing. I will address those who have added negative comments. The soldiers who died for what we have today, most of them are laying in graves marked as *Known Unto God* How would you feel knowing that after you served for your country, gave your life for your country and fellow ancestors, that you are left rotting in a grave *Known Unto God*? Not one person knows your name. Not one person can deliver you home to your family.

  • Keep hold of our traditions and faiths, lest we forget - then some other replace it with their own!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent !! my friend. Great work!! Thumbs up !!. G.

  • The original wording in the Ode is contemn. It is alas, often written as condemn which is incorrect.

  • Nice post. I'm serving in the British Army and have served along siide ANZAC soldiers. Must Respected. I salute your fallen.

  • I just watch a fantastic anzac podcast here: watch?v=QvTz7hiVI0w

  • spelling check please - what is "contemn" ???

  • @missmisc01 Please read the video description ;)

  • "The ANZAC spirit stood, and still stands, for reckless valour in a good cause, for enterprise, resourcefulness, fidelity, comradeship and endurance that will never own defeat."

    - Unanimous

  • Salutes the setting sun...

  • Respect to the brave soldiers who died to keep our freedom alive.

  • Lest we forget

  • I'm sorry, this is great, but perhaps spell check may have been a good idea?? CONDEMN!

  • Just a quick note, there is a lot of debate about the original text of the Ode of Remembrance

In the context of the Ode, both condemn and contemn fit in to its meaning.

I would lean towards the original being "condemn"... because when the Ode was first published in The Times in 1914 the word Condemn was used and surely Binyon would have pointed this out, if in fact it was an error to The Times at the time of publication.

  • @ju1ianb0ndTV I was quoting from the original verse - so I kept the spelling error as to correct it would be going against poetic license.

  • @OnePotChefBlog It is not a spelling error at all. Contemn means to hold with contempt. Changing the word to Condemn would alter the total meaning of the verse.

    Lest we forget

  • @ChunkyBear1

    con·temn

to treat or regard with disdain, scorn, or contempt.

    con·demn

to express an unfavorable or adverse judgment on; indicate strong disapproval of; censure.

  • @ChunkyBear1 I was quoting the original text, which is spelled "contemn" - correcting this would violate poetic license ;)

  • @OnePotChefBlog Ahhh, my apologies, I was not aware of this. I can see how either word can fit into the text; perhaps I should use spell check???

  • @ChunkyBear1

    Nice try, M8... but...

    con·temn

    - verb ( used with object )

To treat or regard with disdain, scorn, or "contempt."

  • @13DCH My apolgies, I have only ever been taught it as condemn, and I was unaware that the original text was different.

  • @ChunkyBear1

    No worries, M8... chin up.

  • @ChunkyBear1 its not about the spelling its about the respect for the ANZACS

  • @ChunkyBear1 ... "

    As above

  • @ThePauleman Both of my parents served in the British Army. In fact, that's how they met :)

  • Excuse my lack of knowledge, but is this a Australian equivalent to Remembrance Day?

Either way, I have family in the armed forces and I have full respect for British armed forces, and their allies across the globe. I truly hope to one day stand shoulder to shoulder with them.

    Lest we forget.

  • @ConnorFlockSpeevage Yes, ANZAC Day is similar to Remembrance Day. It mainly focuses on the Battle at Gallipoli, Turkey where around 30,000 Australian and New Zealand soldiers were killed during WWI.

  • @ConnorFlockSpeevage We do also have rememberance day though

  • @ConnorFlockSpeevage We also observe Remembrance Day every November 11 at 11am.

  • @ConnorFlockSpeevage Australia has Remembrace day also.

  • @Its70Bucks I think your heads too farr up your arse to respect anybody at all douchebag.. why don't you say this outside in public.. or are you too scared to get your head kicked in.. I would love to do it personally..

  • @Its70Bucks You need to learn some respect. BLOCKED

  • @Its70Bucks

You insensitive asshole!! Everylife lost is a life worth remembered! Maybe you need to get your head out of YOUR ass.

I bet you are an American ...... *SMH*

  • @saphyreXice I understand your anger and outrage at the disrespect, but please do not assume Its70Bucks is American just because they are ignorant and rude. I am American and was moved by this post. Each country has lost men and women to war and they all deserve our respect and honor. I currently have 2 family members serving in war zones and this subject is dear to my heart. The previous poster was rude, to say the least, but please do not judge us all by him/her. Be well and God bless.

  • @saphyreXice

I know that most of the comments are almost a year old here, but I hope your not lumping all Americans together with that idiot. I and many Americans like me deeply respect the sacrifices that the ANZACS made. We have been allies and good friends far too long. Unfortunately there are some pea brains that don't get that. Every time I visit Sydney I always go to the ANZAC Memorial and pay my respects. Its an emotional pilgrimage for me. Not all Americans are ignorant to the meaning.

  • @bgrant64 well said, im a aussie and it makes me feel good to know that there are others out there who understand the willingness to put your life on the line to protect the truly innocent isnt a decision bound by borders, religion, gender or ethinc diversity. That goes doubly for ignorance, arrogance and blatant stupidity. Lest we forget.

  • @bgrant64

all I can say is the bugler did an excellent job. Myself I am an ex British soldier, my old regiment also landed at Gallipoli, and is famous for winning 6 VC's on their landing at W Beach, later re-named The Lancashire Landing

  • @Its70Bucks two words: rememberance day... dipshit

  • @Its70Bucks The fail in your post is beyond possible words.

  • @Its70Bucks Fucking cunt, we are not dumb shits for remembering the people who fought and died for our Freedom.

  • @Its70Bucks maybe because the British and the Americans dragged us into it we never start any wars also more ANZACS were killed you dumb shit because america are too lazy to help out Australia all you do is drag us into it so do me a favor stop talking shit about australia or ill kick your ass

  • @Its70Bucks

Oh, my God. You are an ignorant pig. "a few Australians"? Nearly 60,000 Australians died in World War One. We don't respect other countries? What about you, you hypocrite? We fought for our allies in WWI because the British Government/Commonwealth, whatever told us to!

Our lifestyle is terrible? I'm thinking you're jealous. Australian's have the BEST lifestyle of any country in the world! Ever listened to Gyroscope's song, "Australia"? We ARE the REAL land of the free.

  • and this is a nice video for Anzac :)
