  • thanks you. your instructions are very clear.

  • Thank you so much, your videos are SUPER helpful.

  • What is a good way to keep track of repeating patterns? Index cards or? I have a terrible time keeping track of where I am in a pattern!

Yes, your videos are the BEST online. wonderful. I can tell you really enjoy what you are doing. In this time of great stress, my friends and I have returned to knitting. Better than meditation, etc and you end up with a beautiful project! My one problem right now are acquaintances who see my work and beg me for them...I've only kept a few projects.

  • Thank you, Knitwitch. I'm new to knitting. Your videos are wonderful & helped me get from garter stitch to actually making a dishcloth with hearts! Now I'm doing one that is a little more complicated & your videos have cleared up my questions on how to do the stitches I could not figure out how to do. Now if I could just stop getting confused about the repeats and losing count, I would be finished with this today. Thank you. Great videos!

  • I love you! Will you marry me? Oh shoot I'm already married...

Seriously though, this is such a giant help! : )

  • Knit witch - you are a Godsend! Your instructions on here are the best! I didn't think I was a beginner until I came to instructions that say " ...last 2 stitches ssk"!

Hells' bells I'm learning lots from you! Much appreciated! I just wish my pattern instructions would then state the new number of stitches I should have. I'm hoping as I continue on that it will all work out fine.

  • Thank you. Couldn't understand where I was miscounting!

  • Problem I have is that when ever I'm not knitting or purling and I'm just moving my stitches (or slipping them) it's hard for me to remember whether the stitches are knit-wise or purl-wise

  • I thank you thank you THANK YOU!! Knitwitch ROCKS!! I've had such a hard time understanding the knitting "lingo" when following patterns but with your videos I just hop on and learn in within a few seconds!

  • Many thanks

  • VERY VERY CLEAR INTRUCTIONS.

Thank you so much, like your vids.

  • Thank you! So helpful to actually see it done, rather than read a description!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I've been working on a lacy scarf for my daughter and kept messing this stitch up!

  • thank you so much I can know try out more patterns and create awesome stuff!

  • Thank you so much! I too forgot how to do this simple stitch! Thank GOODNESS for You Tube and people who like to share their knowledge!

  • thanks! Now I can finish my sock! :)

  • Thanks so much! I forgot how to do this stitch and it came up in a pattern when I was knitting a ninja mask. Haha.

  • I have a pattern that states "s11 pw wyif, yb,leave it there, (s11 pw, psso).....Can you tell me what "yb" stands for and how I do this?

BTW, these are GREAT videos!!! thank you!!!!!!

  • yb stands for "yarn in back" which means to move your yarn to the back for the next stitch(s).

  • thank you, I was really messing this stitch up until I watched your video! what a tricky stitch...will take some practice!

  • Thank you! Perfect demo. :)

  • Thank you very clear.

  • Thank you so much for your awesome advanced technique sharing. I usually do projects that require more basic stitches, but I am working on some gloves that need this stitch, and I had no idea how to do it. I looked it up and saw an illustration, but it wasn't the same. Being able to watch you do it, and then actually see the finished project is wonderful. Much appreciation!!!!

  • I came back to the beginning of a short row and I was s worried about the gap it had left, but this completely fixed it. Thanks a ton for this video!

  • Such a simple video, but so amazingly helpful. I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to do this! Thanks so much!

  • Thanks so much! I really appreciate that after demonstrating the technique, you're showing the example of what the stitch looks like in the kniiting. So helpful, and very clear! :)

  • why couldn't you knit 2 together through the back loops? is there a difference?

  • You could but the ssk will keep the yarn from stretching a little so the stitch may end up looking a bit "neater".

  • Thanks! New one to me.

  • Big big help!! thanks

  • Thank god for that!!! I was doing it completely wrong!!

  • Your videos have been VERY helpful! Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for your clear instructions.

  • This was awesome. Thank you so much! I knit through the BACK, so my SSKs always came out bad :/ Seeing a video helped put it into perspective for me :)

  • Thank you thank you thank you!

    Very clear!

I find it hard to understand instructions in writing and relate them to practical kniting, but if i am SHOWN, then I only need to see it one time and i am ok with it.

  • your video is very enriching and provides closer shot and slow clear method of how to do it. The steps were very clear to read.

  • The instructions is very clear and nice. Good video for beginners

  • knitwitch, I think I love you. Again.

  • You have totally saved my sanity more than once.

  • knit witch, you are my saviour

  • Your demonstrations in your videos are a lot

easier than those on expertvillage where they

knit too fast and can be confusing.

    methodistgirl

  • I can SAY that I taught myself to knit, but without the knit witch videos I'd still be doing straight garter. Thank you so much.

  • thank you so much for the ssk video

  • Thank you so much,,,,, Now on to my mittens :)

  • This was a tremendous help! Thanks a ton!! :D

  • knitwitch your slow and clear speaking on each step of whatever knitting technique it is is what keeps me coming back to your demonstrations. Thank you for your basic

    WAY of teaching.

  • Thank you!! Excellent demonstration.

  • thank you! this was just what i needed :) im making a hat and it need SSK in the end - havent done it before so i was kinda confused what to do. thank you again!

  • whenever i am making something and i have a brain freeze or don't know how to do something you totally save my day, and my project. life saver videos! thank you !

  • Hey knitwitch... your videos are PRICELESS! Lifesavers. Would you be willing to explain the difference between SSK and K2Tog? I don't understand the difference between the two. Why use one rather than the other? Aren't they essentially the same thing???

  • They are essentially the same thing except that they slant in different directions. So, you would use (generally) an ssk on the right side of your row and a k2tog on the left side of your row so that they will look balanced. Otherwise the knitting will look a little "off kilter" if your decreases all slant in the same direction.

  • Thanks much! I had to rip out my stitches because I wasn't sure...now I know. Appreciate your posting the info so clearly.

  • thanks, very helpful videos, makes learning 2 knit easier.

  • Thank you so much for making all of these. Whenever I need to learn a new stitch I look up your video on it. You should sell these all together on a CD!

  • Thanks for such a visual, clear explanation of what SSK is. Kudos to you!

  • Thank you for the video it was very clear and just what I needed to finish the stitch and create a poncho from a patter I like

  • love the knitwitch.

  • This video is very useful! Thank you so much!!! I knew I was doing it wrong, thanks to you I will be able to do my lace pattern.

  • Thank you so much I never knew what ssk exactly was,

  • Does ssk and the ssk psso version work THE SAME? Do you have a video that shows them side by side? I found out in some socks I am doing a lace pattern and I have ripped it out so much... uGH! I found it asked for ssk and I did the ssk psso as I did not know the difference.. I will now try this, what a great help.. have to frog about 3 inches but maybe i can get it right. You are a GREAT knitter! See my spinning videos.. I am good at that! but on my way to better knitting,

    thanks, grace

  • vedoes are very good thank you so much. i need help im trying to knit a scarf but have run out of my first ball of wool and need to carry on but dont no how to add my second ball of wool in without pulling it out do you have any clips on how to help me please x

  • Simply pick up the new yarn and start knitting with it! Be sure to leave at least a 6 inch tail to weave in later. It will be lose at first but you can go back and tighten up the stitches after you have knit a couple of rows.

  • thanks so much... this helped me with a project I am working on... and as everyone has been saying... very clear instructions!

  • LOVE your clear instructions, thank you so much!

Do you knit continental as well?

  • Hi! Thanks for the video.. I have a question! I only just started learning how to knit. I was was wondering how you would do a decrease on the purl row of your knitting? Because I tried SSK on the purl row and it went all wrong. >_<

  • Thanks for all your videos, they really help me. Thanks for sharing.

  • Awesome! Very clear instructions - very helpful! Thanks so much!

  • Thank you! I'm glad I could help! :)
