It kinda sounds like the last form of a final boss, You know with the build up at the intro, the pacing of the song and the piano part to let it sounds like this is the last thing that you will need to destroy.

Metal Slug 4 had a pretty good soundtrack. I especially liked the boss theme. It was as if the people making Metal Slug 4 decided "Final Attack is cool and all, but let's try something different just this once." It worked pretty well.

Sorry it was one of the worst, most sprites were cut and paste, and the AI wasnt the same, the final boss was 100% livable for Metal Slug Vet. Last some of the slugs were just meh. Only cool thing was the monkey, and even that was cut and paste

No, I find 2 bad because of lag/slow down issues, but apart from that I think it's good (although X was a great improvement), I dislike 4 most because of many new features to the series... New character's replacing old, NO ALIENS (OMG!) And... robots? Who is that evil scientist guy?

Anyway, just my opinion, but it's still a brilliant Metal slug game, wether not as good as the others or not :)

that's due to a different developer working on 4 and wanting to avoid the same old same old.... though as far as SNKP goes.... I think they're ignoring 4 (in MS7; only characters that were MS6 are selectable)

But X is generally an improved remix of 2 (I say remix since while the plot is the same various things were changed around)

Eh, I guess it makes sense to do something different to the plot, but it's a shame they just use those characters for that single game, hopefully the next game will have all the characters to choose from (unlockable would be nice, just to add something else for replay value), as in Metal slug advance and 4 characters who haven't made a reapearance yet

I suspect Trevor and Nadia weren't that popular compared to Tarma and Eri. (I think many fans raged) And the different developer issue perhaps. (Similar reason to why May Lee hasn't been seen in another KoF) Though the portable characters are often just one note characters or such. Ultimately it seems adding Ralf and Clark was a nice move.... and in a mobile game you can play as Leona... an Riot of Blood effect would be a kinda cool thing to see.

No aliens because supposedly the developers wanted to have a game with a Metal Slug 1 feel where there are no aliens. And if u look closely that evil scientist guy looks just like the guy doing buisness with the arabian guy in Mission 1, and talking with a little kid in Mission 4 in MS2/X.

If u ask me it seems that the Metal Slug team had ideas of making that guy a villian since 2.

according to wiki, SNK went bankrupt so another company made 4. However, the company had nooo idea what they were doing, and ended up recycling most sprites. And yea, it was either Metal slug 4 or 5 that the developers wanted a Metal slug 1 feel... I'll check to see which game it was later.

Third level, when given the choice of the Jet or Super Slug a little before the boss. Differnce with the Super Slug is it moves faster, is more of a gold or amber color, and can jump higher. Slug Gunner is only in MS5, and I prefer the normal slug over it.

You should get it on the PS2, since the loading times are much faster, the unlockables are easier to access, and the controls and frame rate are surprisingly more fluid. Trust me, it's worth it.
