  • secondly: After Qe2 black is already losing because of white's harmonious position. It is also important to see the weak square is created next to the e5 pawn namely f5 this is a general rule of thum which, if you didn't know it, you should keep in mind(watch the square next to to your pawn). It was a good game by tal but even more a weak resistance from his opponent, but very very instructive. good job majnu!

  • firstly: I believe that after e5 it went al down hill. It was an ignorant plan not having the right feeling for the demands of the position. e5 is a weak pawn as well as a non developing move while the king is in the centre.

  • Castle directly into your opponent's attack whoops

  • Tal is one of my favorite masters.

Botvinnik is even more underrepresented than Tal and he was a very interesting attacking player as well, especially with the black pieces.

  • Tal has the most beautiful and fluid combinations! This is a true masterpiece!

    Thanks for the upload, Majnu.

  • Tal was an amazing player and produced many beautiful games; but that combover!

  • Thank you for this and your other videos, they are instructive and enjoyable viewing

  • he is a magician,thank's Majnu.

  • Mikhai Tal !!! Thank you! Looking forward to more magic!

  • Here's my thoughts on Misha Tal. Whenever a great player passes away, we all mourn him or her for their wonderful skill at chess regardless of the personality. But with Tal, we mourn him that much more because he was such a great person as well as being a truly wonderful chess player. In my humble opinion, of all the great chess players that has ever lived, we miss Tal the most. Misha Tal 'The Magician from Riga' truly missed by all players the world over.

  • @BlindLemonJaffaCake I couldn't agree more. Well said sir.

  • Awesome job Majnu, great game! I am excited to see more!

  • Great to notice that there are so many Tal fans here!

  • "Black castled, and this is the beginning of the end".. LOL!

  • Yes! finally a video of a Tal game!

Tal has tons of amazing games so you should have no problem finding one you like!

Perhaps you can try several and explain a bit of his particular use of the Sicilian?

  • "I drink, I smoke, I gamble, I chase girls but postal chess is one vice I don't have."

    Michael Tal

  • Mainu, that's a very good idea to make series of Tal's games.Tal often is ignored by western chess commentators(may be because he represented anti-western force in his time)despite the fact that Tal is one of the most brilliant, daring and entertaining grandmasters of all time. Both The Mammoth Book of the World's Greatest Chess Games and Modern Chess Brilliancies include more games by Tal than any other player.I believe that's how a man should play.

  • In case you don't know, Majnu comes from Europe and Tal is well known as the brilliant attack player he was over here.

There is no bias in the west, only in your head.

  • Do you speak on Majnu's behalf?

    Who gave you this right?

Why did you mention that Mainu comes from Europe?

  • I Never claimed that I speak for anyone but myself, I just pointed out that there is no bias against Tal in the European chess world as Europeans like Majnu or myself know very well what a brilliant attack player Tal was.

I am kinda getting repetitive here ...

  • Count how many Tal's games are annotated on youtube and compare it with some other grandmaster games.

You'll see that there is underrepresentation for Tal taking in consideration that he isTHE MOST entertaining player of all time.

P.S. You have no support here despite the fact that those are western channels.NOBODY supports you.

This speaks well about the culture of people here.If we were to change places and discuss the same theme on a russian speaking channel, I 'd have tons of support.

  • What's your problem dude, I just said that I love Tal, Majnu does a series about him, where is the bias?

No one but you cares about nationality, we care about the beauty of chess no matter who played the game or where he is from.

  • u are just another crazy ivan...

  • You can analyse a longer game by cuting it in to parts or more. Nice vid and i hope more Tal games soon!!! thanks

  • Yes, I will do that when necessary.

  • At the time of this game, Tal was just 13 years old. It would be another decade before he won the world championship against Botvinnik. Thanks for sharing this fine example of attacking chess. It will be interesting to see how you are able to condense the tactical complexities of Tal's games into 10 minute youtube videos, Majnu! If anyone can do it, it will be you. Thanks again.

  • Great video, Majnu. Thanks. This game is a wonderful example of piece coordination for creating a lethal threat.

You know, if you want to stay in the YouTube time restriction, it's always fair to just start from an interesting position within the game. No need to go through the whole opening or middlegame (or whatever you think is not the point of the video).

  • Yes mavaddat, that is an option for longer games. Thanks.
