Actually there are not 13 signs of the zodiac. Search for Vettius Valens Anthology online, you can get a free translation of it and you'll see the earliest form of Horoscopic astrology. It is a system based upon Platonic philosophy and there are only 12 signs used. 12 divisions of 30 degrees each.
