If you really wanna know your intervals, then take a good Relative Pitch ear training course like David Lucas Burge, i'm practicing it and have for like half a year already, and it really opens your ear and have the intervals internalized so you can just play by ear w/ ease! Also, know what type of chords are being played by ear and any chord type but i didn't get to that level yet, and this whole course might take up to 2 or so years but it's totally worth it!
ozztscarytrain is actualy right, without opening up your soul or loving music, yuo wont be abel to compose great songs and make your playing sound better and more alive.
dude I'm opening my heart and soul to Britney Spears, Rambo, Mcdonalds and George Bush, Dick Cheney, American Security agencies, American drug pushing, American weapons sales and destruction and invasions. All the best America has to offer. How will this help my music?
Well you ought to listen to Carlos Santana, or Jimi Hendrix, or Steve Ray Vaughn. Dude, trust me. Steve knew a pentatonic scale but played it with his soul, and guess what ? I heard it. He had no formal training, he had soul.
By far the best lesson on youtube ive seen yet...ill be watching more of your videos... i had read about intervals in the guitar grimioure and i have to say that lesson made every thing so much more clear for me thank you
I think i'll have to grasp the whole interval thing. you're a great teacher. thanks. but I already knew about sliding. maybe a lesson on how to make songs/solos and how to memorise and play solos easier.
This subject for beguiners is what I define to be the equivalent of space technology or rocket science

at 4:23 he messes up. He should have said.. "If you're in a minor key, the intervals that are not perfect are minor." etc.
