  • heard in dciif u wanna shower, u have to sometimes share a nozzle with several other dudes.......akward

  • DIRT..

  • Comment removed

  • Dude Intense oh and really nice basses

  • the next video you record might look even better with less quick panning from left to right and less unnecessary zooming in and out..... Awesome footage though man! Cavies are my favorite.

  • Once warmed up infront of that building in Michigan City....good memories...

  • DIRT IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS

  • its better by the end of the season. this is towards the beginning :P

  • I do realize this, I was just reiterating what SixStars3300 said. I know it's not going to be perfect, and it was good for that time of the season. I'm just stating the obvious, it's a little dirty. But mainly in the rolls

  • is it just me or as that dirty?

  • Some of the rolls were pretty dirty. That last one especially.

  • I've seen this video like 20 times, the first 10 seconds always manage to confuse me. =P

Also, with the car horn, do you guys think that was intentional? They missed by a little bit, but that was extremely close to be ironic.

  • The weird jump at the beginning of the clip is because of my camera. If you notice, it starts out zoomed out really far; any time i jump from the ultra-wide setting to the tele-photo, there is a short delay. :^( I wasn't even thinking about it!

  • Oh, I figured it was some technical thing, I have a bad habit of only listening, and not doing much watching of the videos, so every time I find myself thinking, "woah! What was that?"

  • That statement is false. They use Innovative Percussion Sticks. I'm pretty sure the snares still use Jim Casellas and tenors are using some form of mallet.

  • they are the innovative the ft4a's, and the other stick is the innovative ts2

  • i was only meaning the snares, and i only said that because they are white with black tips and black grips.

  • Besides why would they use drumset sticks on a marching snare they would break as soon as they did one shot

  • 1:22 the tenor looks the camera and grooves like a mother fucker

  • I think, he like what he´s doing :-)

  • lol, I know that guy.

  • anyone got a copy of the tenor feature?

  • do they members paint the harnesses themselves with spraypaint? just wondering because the guy with the rising sun logo on his carrier is badass

  • intense visuals?

    lol

  • I assume he meant at the end...haha

  • whoa what kind of harnesses are those?

  • xl lite carriers...

  • they also custom painted them to distinguish them from each other...

  • ew. that was pretty dirty if u listen carefully

  • Meh, who cares. They were clean at finals

  • truth

  • i heard dirt

  • i feel bad for them how they have thi hard show and heavy drum and thier not using randell may carries that suxs a lot lol but thier bass sizes are wierd they go like 16,18,22,26,32 thought that was wierd and i might not be posative on the sizes but i know its something wierd like that

  • XL carriers are amazing

they've always used XL, and shouldn't stop using them

  • I have never used XL carries I'm used to randel may ones

  • Perfection, period.

    ..Go snares.

  • The tenor closest to the camera messed up at 0:40. lol. It's okay though. They're still the best.

  • he didn't screw up, that solo between the tenors was an individual split...each of them were doing something different in sync, he was supposed to do that....

  • lol... they played this chunk once before i filmed this clip and i was on a knee literally 4 inches from the far tenor's drum and after they were done, i said to him, "that was amazing" he just grinned and said "not yet."

  • oh yea haha

  • that is soo cool!!!!

  • they have a huge gock.

    its 8"

    what the heck.

    they're usually like 6"

    thats really weird

  • It had something to do with the theme of the show and the tuning they used this year from what I've heard. Theres nothing wrong with an 8 inch though, its not as popular anymore, but a lot of people still use the 8 inch, its usually accompanied by a 6 inch when they have it though, thats why it looks weird. I think the cavaliers usually do a double 6 though.

  • they did that for like ever b4 now they have the 8" with no 6" and its really weird looking i didnt even know they made those.

  • yes you can get it standard now in yamaha. You can get the 6,8,10,12,13,14 now standard to

  • I definitely thought you said they have a huge cock, 8" and they are usually 6"

    hahaha

    sweet book this year

  • i know!!

it was so weird to play those 8 inch spoks at the Cavalier Camp back in December.

    but they sound AWESOME

  • tenor solo kinda reminds me of the tenor solo for 2000 cavs. the structure and phrasing are the same.

  • quite dirty at the end. but still better and more notes played than bd. a lot of good lines this year. more innovative lines than when i was playin. it's between cavies, pr, and blue coats this year.

  • woah.. that last roll was pretty dirty.. but who the hell cares. They're still amazing.

  • I always thought the tenors had 2 spocks instead of 1.

  • lots of corps are just switching to quints instead of 6 drums, it was like haveing 6 drums was cool but it was pretty much just a little extra

  • ya, two of my best friends are the tenor players in our band, they prefer 2 spocks, they say its easier to play

  • Haha, I love the comments that are the exact same on every single Cavies vid -

"OMG I <3 these guys they rock"

    OR

"I hate Cavaliers they're so dirty."

I'm predicting it'll be like every year since, what, 2004? that they're dirtier than everyone else until a week before finals and then get clean and do just fine at champsionships. It's yet to be seen if they'll beat Devils though...

  • I went to a show last night in Allentown, PA, and they totally dominated the Blue Devils. I have high hopes for finals.

  • well it looks like your prediction was wrong...drumline wise at least. Cavies 2nd, BD 5th.

  • Haha. i like how in the Snare break

they have part of the phantom 06 snre break.

accent tap buzz accent tap buzz. Trying to copy

  • You're wrong on so many levels. Haha. It's ok, it's hard to hear because it's fast. But they certainly aren't trying to copy them.

  • You swear like PR owns that phrase. And i dont think cavs really need to be copying any corp by any means.

  • is it just me, or does anyone else get a Blast, Marimba Spiritual vibe from this? especially the beginning

  • It's good you get that vibe, because that's the effect they hope to create. It's a Japanese samurai show.

  • I just have to cringe everytime I hear the roll at the end...they needa clean it up.

  • Same here. Every lot I've heard is dirty. Don't they care enough to get it right at least once? Jesus.

  • uh i just saw them last night and there was not one little flaw in anything they played. every roll was clean. every height was right so i think this is just a bad souding video.

  • That's good to hear. Although.... what's funny is that they watered the drum break since this video was taken. The same triplet roll that we're talking about here has been replaced by eighth notes.

  • I was there too!

  • haha the random horn at :15 lol

its cool but im just not diggin it

  • Man I wish I had their whole book...I love the whole concept behind the show it's going to be awesome

  • i saw the Cavies at ISU for the DCI show, they were amazing

  • ha ha. i like the massive 8 inch spoock heads on the quads.

  • the tenor line is awful right now. it seems like the snares hang okay, then the tenors enter and filth it all up.

  • The tenor on the far right is the section leader at UTA. Sweet.

  • the split up groove in the tenors is not in time at all

  • yeah it was bad..... Cavies 2000/2001 pulled that stuff off every time. They need the old staff back.

  • sorry. my camera does some weird time warp type thing whenever i switch from ultra-wide to telephoto. lol you realy need to see these guys in person because they are so much cleaner sounding. other than that, watch it in high quality because it's kickass and enjoy! :^)
