Why dont people give linux a chance? What i love about it, is that you can do what ever you want with it, and its free. I have fedora, which has never let me down. And, linux CAN play quite a few games, but it can take a bit longer for it to work. For example, i have Nancy drew and the Sims3 on my computer.

its a great os but with limitations that DONOT exist in windows. Windows is limited to how it operates and looks but linux is limited only by the fact its unsupported meaning most things will work but certain things will just fuck up making the OS experience very uncomfortable for u when u get shitty drivers that malfunction. Linux also btw does not have PROPPER codec support so u may get videos w.o audio/video (in VLC) that u can watch in windows(error free) after downloading VLC.

@theonenamedjosh There are ipod progs to use with linux. To start with in music: Banshee, Rhythmbox, GPixPod and gpodder. Also some photo handling progs are ipod compatible.
Its just not a company run by greed... and its open source so if u find a problem... u fix it yourself submit it to the forms and the os gets better, because people like it and they want to make it better: not make money

Windows has Microsoft Office (you have to pay extra for it, and not cheap).
Linux is loaded with Open Office (free)...and...it looks, feels like, and does everything Microsoft Office does.
Windows has MSPaint....Linux has GIMP...a graphics suite that competes with Corel -it's fully loaded and again FREE.
Instant Messengers galore on Linux, Non are included with Windows, sure you can download them, but it's a hassle, not to mention risky.
Ubuntu User here and glad with my choice!

it ran faster in linux somehow, --- must have changed a setting, but it WAS very choppy in

With my internet connection I can barely get 100kilobytes per second on windows but with linux I can get the whole 4megabytes per second connection.

Yes only place windows takes the cake, which clearly is Graphics, Linux(opengl) is nothing in front of windows(directx), when it comes to graphics.
Everything else linux wins by 100 times.

OpenGL is hardware based.
DirectX is software based.
