  • how u do the emerson wave with dis knife?

  • love this knife man!..one of my favorites in my collection.

  • The phillips screws are AWESOME

  • Anyone know where to get one of these in vg-10??

  • I have one to compliment my steak fork, good stuff!

  • i got one for cuttin hotdog sticks

  • Many quality knife companies make blades in AUS-8A. It may not be the "high-end" steel but there's nothing wrong with it. I say this ESPECIALLY in the role of tactical folders. A tactical folder is designed for self-defense. I do not cut ANYTHING with my self-defense blades. I want them razor-sharp for when I need them to serve their purpose. I am more likely to win the lottery than use my knife for combat. AUS-8A is more than suitable for this purpose.

  • @dsbiddle

You are indeed very right about the lottery metaphor. People are paying too much attention to the steel of the knife, not to the design itself. Most killings or cuttings done to persons are actually done by kitchen knives that are dull and retails for about $3.49 in K-Mart. If people reading this look for the data in the Uniform Crime Report you will find that most of those are husbands and boyfriends cutting their "loved ones".

  • its a decent knife but for 60 bucks you could get anything in the CRKT,Boker,Kershaw, or some Cold Steel line that is built better....... .

  • the design is solid though, the g-10 is very nice, but I still thing the CRKT crawford Kasper that McCann used to carry is a better feeling knife........

  • Just to let everyone know they made the Crucible II which is manufactured in Taiwan and is constructed with AUS 8A steel. They did that to reduce the cost making it more accessible to buyers not willing to shell out 100+ dollars for a knife. Still a great knife but don't think you're getting the premium Crucible I for 60 dollars. I'm definitely getting one.

  • this knife is not built to the original specs anymore. It is NOT bilt in Japan, it is built in Taiwan, of crap AUS-8 steel. This video no longer represents the knife's currently built specs

  • AUS-8 isn't crap. I've had many good experiences with it. Of course I would like to see some VG-10 or some S30V steel on this knife.

  • aus-8 is crap, it is extremely similar to 440-c and is very touchy on heat treating properly... i am a custom knife maker and know a little something about this subject. AUS-8 is run of the mill 55-58 RC hardness steel..... this knife should have been made from s30v, or even a D2 blade would be a nice change in the folder world.

  • That guy was on "time warp"

  • yourcornerstore[dot]com $57.23

  • Thanks that's cheap...OSU!!!

  • yep! yourcornerstore is a nice place... it may be on back order... but hey! its a LOT less than the rest!!!

  • The crucible in this video is the crucible one, it costs about $100 or so, the one at yourcornerstore(dot)com is the Crucible ii which is a cheap version of this knife but still well worth owning. Happy hunting bro

  • Perhaps my next future purchase. Love Blackhawks line of tactical gear, wear their Instructors belt daily. No price for security(peace of mind)...OSU!!!(KARATE EXPRESSION)

  • OSU!!!!

  • Titanhearth,

Usual reasons for bad liner locks are:

    1. the poor execution of the design and materials used 2. the danger of accidentally disengaging the lock in the stress-handling. That being said, the design on the lock on this thing is an absolute confidence-booster! It actually took two hands two close the lock and it is ground flush on the handle! I'd think less of Kelly McCann if he attached his name to a piece of crap knife. This one actually performs!

  • Good looking knife! But I don't know about liner lock systems: are they better than Lock Back systems, or are they safer?

  • liner locks are tougher than a back lock. i've had a back lock break, but i was abusing the knife outside its limitations... though if it had a good liner lock i would still have that knife.

  • 5 stars for your knife

  • I purchased this knife after watching this same video on Blackhawk's website. I was not disappointed. This is a great knife. It's easy to open, locks up tight and definitely makes for a solid self defense tool. The only complaint I have about it, in my opinion, is that it is a bit on the big side for an EDC. However, I still carry it very often.

  • Looks like a good blade but still a bit pricey. As for size I carry a Cold Steel Voyager X2 daily.

  • Lol, you have enough pocket for it?

  • This is a fantastic knife. A perfect EDC.
