Figures that Joe Hisaishi would write such a catchy fanfare. I love his work for Studio Ghibli but I'm not as familiar with his other work, like this. Just found out what "Robot Carnival" was today actually.
This music brings back memories of catching Robot Carnival on the tv when I was young in the early hours of morning. To bad no DVDs or BluRays are in the works for this. I think it's been out of print for a very long time now.
@Ridley9548 My understanding is that a US DVD was planned at some point but it's been held up indefinitely because of complicated rights issues. I really hope all of that gets sorted out at some point and we get a Blu-Ray/DVD release.
Same here, this has had it's anniversaries, just to bad about the rights issues. Last time I ever saw this was on an old VHS tape in Blockbuster video. This was back around 1996 or so.
Maybe Ryko who re-issued A-Ko and Fist of the North Star movie and old series and who also finally released Galaxy Express 999 with it's sequel on DVD should do it.
There is actually a legal DVD of this, it's just only available from French Amazon, and has no English subs or dubs on it.

The DVD exists, but have to buy an import. Mine is still a region 1 though.
