St kilda are the heartbreak team of the afl. I am a west coast eagles fan but I was going for them with all my heart in this game and also the previous year against geelong. To have won one premiership in club history by a solitary point, this must of been agonizing for their fans.

i was there and i almost jumped out of the stadium when goddard took that mark. i thought it was all our game and we would go all the way. milney could have done it for us. we played just as good as collingwood did. which showed up on the scoreboard

@alltimeblowification Nope. Lenny Hayes was definitely the deservant winner. Lenny Hayes sparked the comeback in the first place with his goal from outside 50 metres. On top of that he applied around 15 tackles and had 30+ disposals. Also...who kicked the ball to Goddard when he took the screamer? Lenny Hayes. Hayes worked hard the ENTIRE game; whereas Goddard was hot for about 10 minutes in the last quarter.

@AIDOZ goddard ended up with 30+ disposals, you can't get that by playing good for 10 minutes of the last quarter. I am not saying Hayes didn't play really well. Just in my eyes Goddard should have won.

@alltimeblowification The thing is - even when Hayes wasn't getting the ball he had a presence around the stoppages. He used himself as a battering ram and was constantly near the bottom of packs. He is the most vital part of the St Kilda team (note: St Kilda's poor form at the first half of the 2011 season after Hayes went down)

finally i've found a sport that is as exciting as hockey! i live in canada and im desperate to play aussie rules! u guys have an amazing sport! every other sport, even rugby, seems dull and boring compared to hockey, all you've gotta do is watch a hockey game live and u'll agree, but from just seeing little clips on youtube of aussie rules its fantastic only sport out there thats on the same level as hockey haha and from a canadian, thats saying something!

I'd also like to say this replay rule is garbage.

The first grand final was AMAZING! The second was absolutely boring, it had no spirit, it felt so weird and it just wasn't as exciting.

Now before i get comments back, YES i am a St.Kilda supporter but even if i was a Collingwood fan, it just wouldn't feel the same. The rule is simply in place for money and nothing more. Think about how many millions the AFL makes on a replay match.

as a saints fan, i do hate collingwood but, i agree with maxy. its an absolute joke. and the best thing about this game was, so much tension all through the game and especially the last quarter. but its always lovely for a little laugh at the end of tiring day. and when lenny lost his voice, i felt sorry for him but at the same time, it was quite funny. even though collingwood won last year, i must say, it was such a good game. good contest. possibly the best grand final i've ever witnessed =)

What a game, that was unreal, I am a Saints man and bloody proud of the boys comeback and Lenny on winning the medal. Collingwood played well and fought on strongly to deny the St.Kilda the win.

Game should have been decided on the day but I guess I get to see it all again.

I also go for St.George in the Rugby league I went to that game after watching AFL grand final and and to endure 80 minutes of that game before Saints won by a point to get into the grand final, that day was a bit much .
