  • Pretty good numbers at the wheels. The 383 I'm building should have around 450-500 to the flywheel w/o nitrous so it should do pretty good.

  • Hey dude I'm running the same engine in a 1989 Chevy Caprice w/Tbi and it runs like Sh---t. What I'm I doing wrong I change the ECM to a Ebl Flash. It feels like i'm running out of fuel in 3rd geer. I have a 700r4 w/ 373 Geers

  • i have a 90 rs thats totaly redone with a 383 in it also and mine has around 500 horse but stock t-5 tranny and it doesnt hold the power at all wht tranns are you running

  • that's sweet man. I want to put either an LS2 that's supercharged or a build 383 that has a centrifugal supercharger into my baby. I have a 91 RS and it has a 305 with a 5-speed

    The custom cam I cant remember the specs but it was a big block profile on a small block cam. The specs were very similar to a 306 cam for an LT1 motor.

    Oh, I also put in 1.6 Roller Rockers just to bump up the Lift a touch.

    My only recommendation is to get a rev kit so that you can get that extra top end power which could save you some time in a drag race and keep you from having to shift into another gear at the traps.

  • my set up is 383 flat top with two valve reliefs,brodix track 1 heads(the one with 221cc intake port and 2.08/1.6),victor jr intake,750dp,243/257 533/519 on 1.5 rockers soon I will put 1.6 and 107 LSA and all the good stuff I really hope I can hit 380rwhp thnx for your info's man

  • thats very impressive whats the full spec on the engine? I hope I hit 380rwhp with my 92 Z28 it has 383 too please give me full details about your engine,tranny and rear end 5 stars bro

    Cemented bottom half of the block, splayed 4 bolt main caps, Forged 4340 Eagle Crank, Forged 4340 H Beam Eagle Rods, 11:1 Flat Top Eagle 4340 Forged Nitrous Pistons, Gapless Chromoly Rings, Custom Grind Cam, AFR 190 Heads (discontinued but replaced with 195's) Miniram II Intake Manifold, 58mm Edlebrok Throttle Body.

  • Seems pretty strong.. hope it improves when you get the chip.  how much RPM are you getting from the 383?.. I will build one myself next month.

  • I'm getting about valve float at around 5800 - 6200 rpm.  Easy fix with a rev kit.
