  • I speak modern hebrew (And ofcourse as any one who knows modern, I can read Biblical hebrew) and I can actually understand 50% more or less of the Armaic, thats awsome! :P

  • @RIPeach speak arabic and you'd easily understand hebrew if spoken in a pure NON ASHKENAZIM accent...arabic is a key language to learning Aramaic and Hebrew

  • @sam4121 I am sephardic, and arabic is similar to hebrew, but its not at all that similar that an arabic speaker can understand hebrew or vice versa. and aramaic is much more similar to hebrew then arabic.

  • @zoomzoom3211 even though yes, arabic and hebrew are pretty similar, like 1 in hebrew is echad, in arabic it's wachad, 5 in hebrew is chamesh, in arabic its hamsa. hebrew and arabic share small similarities like this, but a arabic speaker cant really understand a hebrew speaker or vice versa.

  • Im Aramean and knows how 2 speak aramaic :)

  • Good. I want to learn hebrew and aramaic...

  • Which is closer to Biblical Hebrew, ancient (biblical/Imperial) Aramaic, Modern Assyrian Aramaic, or Modern standard Arabic & classical Arabic? Please explain...Thank-you!

  • Ancient Aramaic is definitely closer. You can apply a rule-of-thumb replacing a few letters and endings and get just about every single word. Reading the Torah verses followed by the Targum Onkelos, as shown in this clip, shows clear evidence of that.

  • Is it really that simple?

  • modern Hebrew ofcourse

  • The Judeo-Arabic shown after the Targum Onkelos, is it from Yemen?

  • No. It is the "tafseer" of Rav Saadia Gaon z"l.

  • Thank you for enlightening me with your reply.

  • Hi! Where can I get the tafsir of Rav Saadia Gaon? thx.

  • I found one here in Jerusalem. It wasn't as much of a tafsir as it was a reconstrtuction of it.

  • I love it!!
