  • the line was changed to make it less serious

  • i like it better than the original... (;

  • I never understood the "hitler hairdo" part, but with this early lyrics I can now have an idea of what he ment. Also he says "this is what you get when you mess with me". I can now understand Karma Police a little better.

  • @ShazerThe By saying "when you mess with us" rather than "When you mess with me" the narrator of the song is representing a group - perhaphs society, as people are judged on small, insignificant and non-incriminating aspecs of thier personality and appearance.

  • I dont quite get the hitler hairdo part....i know what a hitler hairdo is, but what does it mean.

  • @rammsteinTOtheMAX

its doesnt mean anything specific, its just him criticising people in his head, and the "for a minuet there a lost myself" means well he though to his self no wait what am i doing hence the "a lost myself"

  • thom is hitting some high notes in this one... what a range this man has!

  • this version buzzes like a fridge ... ^^

  • "as if she owns the world' awesome lyrics but yea it doesn't flow as well.

  • When you mess with ME. Hmm interesting. It's cool hearing this.

  • well to be honest the "hitler hairdo" part is why i payed attention to this song at the first time iv heared it

  • Jajaja muy buena la foto del minuto 1:32 xD

    La mejor banda, yeah!

  • radiohead is...actually really amazing. They are beautiful.

  • I love Radiohead in every step they have made during their music career, but I specially love the years between 94-98, I don't know why, perhaps The Bends and OK Computer are my special favourites.

    Thanks for uploading!

  • I almost like listening to this version more than the studio one. I love the lyric change and the feeling of the 2nd half of the song. So much emotion.

  • I can see why they changed it, it didn't flow as well as the later version. But I enjoy the lyrics much more in this version.

  • wow.. here you can see how they worked on it...

  • gr8:)

  • yeah, if you hear this version his voice is not much different than in every other song of radiohead. He just has this perfect voice, nothing to edit about it:P

  • "She stares at me as if she owns the world" That line should have stayed in.

  • @troykeenanguitar I get the impression Thom put in the alternate because it was funnier and conveyed the 'karma police' better

  • @troykeenanguitar in my opinion it's even better than her hitler hairdo is making me feel ill...

  • Yeah they definitely didn't copy Radiohead. Coldplay is in a whole other vein than Radiohead. Both good bands, but Radiohead is better as a band.

  • its the demo i guess :)

  • 1:16 You..!

  • I love how he says "arrest this" in this version

  • kinda like coldplay but iguess coldplay copied this group

  • nd they didnt do such a good job copying THEE radiohead :P

  • he says arrest in the other vertion aswell

  • i know, I just like how he says it in this one

  • Pretty cool how he sings "this is what you get" so high

  • he s not talking about the hitler hairdo!aww

  • i think i wouldve prefered this version more but the one they chose to put on the ambum is the one they thought sounded better with the lyrics. I'm just saying if they could release a album with the early versions of some of their songs, that'd be great!

  • Agreed... They should do a demos CD with all B-Sides, and early recordings of old tunes. People would buy the shit out of it. Even if it was an online release only. I just want better quality version of all of these versions. There have to be tons from OK Computer since they spent a year and a half on the album!

  • I don't know why they've they've edited the 'she stares at me..' thing, I think it's cooler than the Hitler-hairdo thingy.

    Well, whatever.. I'll stfu :)

  • totally agree with u dude. Did I mention that Radiohead rock?

  • I don't think it's a shitty version, it just has a bad sound quality.

  • Uh...no.

The album version is a masterpiece.

  • OMG...wtf are u talking about..sound might not be very good but u can hear Yorke's real voice without being edited from a sound processor or W this thing is called..

  • most of their tracks are his 'real' voice

  • dunno..i dont mean that is someone else's voice in other tracks but computers are involved in the making of the songs so its different from...let's say cancerts sound

  • I'm pretty sure his voice is edited live too.

  • hehe...well...whatever..u got my point about 'real' and 'unreal' voice.i cant say for sure about concerts cause i've never heard them live but i dont think his voice is edited there too..i mean even band members themselves would loose their interest in concerts..

  • @na1011 if you listen "the tom yorke's real voice" listen this song live.

  • like many demos, this has an inspired quality the album version is missing.
