  • It dies either way. One way it get chopped to pieces, the other way bitten to pieces. Does it really matter that much? If people are so upset, be a vegetarian. If you eat meat you kill life either way,

  • all moral contradictions aside, i wouldn't be able to eat this. i know in the end it doesnt rly make a difference, the animal is dead, but in a way it does. knowing that i'm torturing an animal while eating it would ruin my apettite. and please, you don't have to be an animal activist or a hippie to disagree with this.

  • @Roserade too bad it's sashimi. Sashimi isn't live. Nor is this squid.

  • @G0ThPaNDa

i think squids' tentacles move sometimes even after they died.so i guess that's the reason

  • At least this stuff is better than mcdonalds and all of that fast food shit we, the people in america consume . lol -__-

  • @jdaaangx Are you really sure that non cooked food is better than cooked food? I am not so sure.

  • @serratop Fast food such as mcdonalds aren't legit genuinely real cooked food either. Wonder why there's a dollar menu? Do you really think people would go through all that trouble to get organic, fresh fast food if it was only for a dollar? Do you think fast food would be so cheap if it were to be made out out 100% real beef? Hell no. Do you think the obesity epidemic in america is growing ? yes...

  • @jdaaangx I was only talking about cooked food and raw food, not fast food, which I hate and never eat.

  • Yeah, okay. We get it. It's "controversial." But you know, if some culture has an acquired taste for food prepared a certain way, then who are you to judge them? What you're freaking out about right now is the equivalent to you bashing these people for eating a cricket for protein or anything similar.

  • Finally, a video where everyone hates internet animal activists.

  • Can you all just shut the fuck up with your pseudo-intellectual conversations and enjoy the vid.

  • Only thing I don't like about japan :/ (but still, lots of japanese criticize this method).

  • I think it's more than pathetic. It is the food of the people. But it is another one of life's pain I feel the same.

  • fuck you hippies

  • @johnsanchez302 Hippies don't eat live stuff. Do you even know who hippies are?

  • Cool

  • well,,,for people who say that butchering animals prior to eating is more humane than serving fresh fish like this,,,you should maybe watch the earthlings. Then, your opinions might change. Animals are consumed either way by people. Also, for people who degrade other cultures because you don't understand their ways of lifestyle and such, learn to show some respect. Just because a foreign culture follows a tradition that is different from yours does not mean they are "freaks".

  • All the people who claim that it's the way of nature, and if OTHER animals do it then it's ok.

Well no. As human beings we have the tools and the ability to eat animals while sparing them from a long suffering and torture.

Imagine how feels a squid when you remove his hood. his brain is outside, feeling the air, seeing his parts right in front of him being cut and eaten while he watches.

  • @Ghost3533 yea, but even if u take out the brain (after what i have heard) the arms aka tentacles still has its "own brain" they move induvidually (hope i spelled that right)

  • Tastes like suffering. Suffering, and soy sauce. And... wasabi? Mmmm....

  • Some stupid correlations here. We eat by pleasure not tu survive! What do you know about universe ? Don't call universe your disfunctionnal brain. It's disgusting!

  • looks good but i will never eat the tentacles

  • What would you prefer? Being eaten alive or after you are dead? Imagine your leg or your stomach being cut open while you watch and can feel what's happening. I hereby sentence you as an accomplice in the genocide of animals. Buried alive or eaten alive at all? Saw his regards.

  • Nature has punished the Japanese earthquake

  • @naxervse If you actually believe that, I feel genuinely sorry for you. You are just as bad, if not worse than the fundamentalist christians who said that Haiti deserved their earthquake for making a "pact with the devil".

  • @SPOREthomas

flayer and another to the camera as if a cool, cut a finger of his sesh

  • @naxervse May I ask what you just said?

  • @SPOREthomas

Sorry for the bad translation, it is impossible to kill a fast and not to torture your meal?

  • @naxervse I understand that, but just because some people eat it in japan doesn't mean innocent people should suffer. I'm sure alot of people in japan are repulsed by it, just like I find eating cavier and other eggs disgusting. I agree with you that's it's gross, but not something alot of people should die for doing.

  • @SPOREthomas

Nobody, including and I do not want death for people but unfortunately not for us mortals to decide who will die tomorrow.Good luck.

  • @naxervse I'm sure nature has punished USA with various natural disasters as well. What a dumbass ignorant statement.

  • Leave it to the jappos to make vivisection a dinner time treat

  • Ika Musume is enraged, de geso.

  • the fuck?

  • At least it's not being cannibalized by another squid here...

  • now i know why us americans destroyed the japs during ww2

  • so thats what happend to squidward

  • check a video called "meet your meat"

  • the funny thing is that always who eat this food are TOURISTS that come to Japan.

  • you think in nature, predators first cook and then eat?if this "poor" squid was eaten by a fish in the sea?how was eaten?grilled?

or chunked in two with sharp theeth. We r at the top of the food chain.

we eat other creature all the time. so stop eating food then and inject food in your blood

  • Geez people calm down...it's just a freakin' squid.

  • What does live/raw squid taste like? Calamari is the only way I go with something that squiggly.

  • i love when ppl fight on youtube.

  • a*hole!

  • It obviously doesn't taste any different than freshly killed squid, so why cause unnecessary pain to them? What, is it supposed to be fucking entertaining? Get a life you snobby pricks.

  • @lizardman2135

wow you obviously have no idea what you`re talking about.

does raw chicken and cooked chicken taste the same? of course not, so why would raw squid taste the same as cooked squid?

You also need to stuy a bit of biology, the squid is dead. what you`re seeing are his muscles twitching, the chef cut off it`s head in the preparation.

The only difference between other kind of meats such as cow is that they stop moving after you cut off their head. how exactly is this more painful?

  • @coolbones first of all, i didnt say cook the squid, i said just kill it and then eat it while its still fresh. its head is still attached to its body, so how would i know whether what im seeing is the squid squirming with life or just its nerves? Im also not some hippy vegetarian or anything like that (i just cleaned and ate my own bass a few days ago) but before i gutted it i made sure to stick a knife in its spinal cord to kill it instantly.Whether its alive or not, it deserves a quick death.

  • @lizardman2135

I understand what you mean but I can assure you that the chef makes sure that all connections to the brain are cut off and that the movement that you`re seeing is simply due to twitching. The only difference between what you do and what they do is that you wait a bit longer, it makes no difference to the animal.

In Japan, serving the food while it is still twitching shows off the skill of the chef because he manages to serve it before the movement ceases.

  • @coolbones Poor thing. It's one thing to show off, but this is just sick. If it was twitching like a chicken without its head it'd be twitching, not moving slowly like it's in pain, or like with the fish who are gasping for breath. I highly doubt they sever any nerves, considering the Japanese eat ENDANGERED SPECIES.

  • @ferretyluv Have you ever been to Japan? No? Then what the fuck do you know?

  • @aleks100887 Ever seen Whale Wars or The Cove?

  • @ferretyluv so what?

  • @theremin69 Dolphins and whales are endangered. The Japanese hunt them for food. Hence, they are eating endangered species.

  • @ferretyluv

Why you come to talk about Whales on a video of a squid sashimi?????

there are loads of videos about that topic

  • @ficc2006 Context, asshole. Read the whole convo.

  • @ferretyluv

    Doesn't matter.

There are no whales in this video.

About your "convo", squid is not an animal in danger.

    You r wrong

  • @ferretyluv Also, how can an animal is alive without his interiors and heart?

Can you be alive without heart and interiors?

    Are just nerve's spasms

  • @ficc2006 Nerve spasms would be just twitching. That is not twitching. It's movement. It's still alive.

No, the squid is not endangered. That was not the point. I understand you don't speak English fluently, so I can see why you'd be confused. My point was that it is unlikely that Japanese would care about the animal's well-being because they eat whales and dolphins despite a worldwide moratorium on whaling.

  • @ferretyluv is not a worlwide moratorium on whaling.

Is just Aussie and Kiwi moratorium as U.S.A is a whaling country together with Norway,Iceland,Russia and Canada and many more....

  • @ficc2006 In Canada, Iceland, Russia, and Greenland, whaling is only done by indigenous people. Large scale whaling has been illegal since 1986.

  • @ficc2006 hey in this method of cooking the organs are not removed....wiki/Ikizukuri...it's really hard too believe this, i don't like eating half alive things....

  • @coolbones i studied biology, and theres a difference between movement and twitching. twitching is fast, short burts, this squid is clearly alive. having said that, i dont really care if its dead or alive, still tastes damn good.

  • @coolbones and its a well known fact that ikizukuri means preparing and serving the dish alive.

  • We know THIS wasnt filmed in america! (Stupid PETA activists)

  • that's what i always say! people have no idea of the consequences and things that they do, it can be quite sad.

  • whenever i see a video like this my only thoughts revolve around cutting up the fish. They put a whole fish on the plate, so do they just cut it up later? I doubt they just pick at, but I didn't think they would cut it up on their own. I thought it was served in pieces :|

  • Generally, I prefer my food to be freshly killed and served. Not still alive on my plate.

But how is raw squid? I've never had it before. I would guess rather chewy?

  • Was it good? Im going to Japan in a month

  • to be truthful, its pretty pathetic =-= oh well, i guess youtube isnt really the place to be debating morals and such...

  • i think suz333 is right, just coz we're going to eat it doesnt mean that it should have to die a horrible death. and why are people giving him (sorry if youre a girl suz333) such a bashing? he's just speaking his mind, just like you.

  • I would never eat raw squid. Fish yea, but squid just looks gross raw.

  • Sort of cruel, but that thing does look tasty.

  • exactkly. me want meat. get off my back

  • yes, thats why we eat other animals and we get eaten by sharks and bears and occasionally hippos. It's how the universe works, YOU KNOW?!

  • @kingofallpie I agree that is how the universe work but you forgot one thing: the animals that eat us dont get to live for very long until they get hunted down and killed.

  • @star666moon that comment's a whole year old! you FAIL!

  • @star666moon We are at the top of the food chain. Like it or not, we have earned the right to kill and eat whatever the fuck we want if it is incapable of defending itself. I don't even eat meat that isn't processed to the point that it resembles plastic and I STILL think this is right.

  • @ometta7 Haha, good for you!

  • @star666moon Good for US, you mean. I take it you're a talking ape as well, yes?

  • @ometta7 You mean Homo sapiens to be exact. "Talking ape" ,unfortunately, just refers to yourself.

  • @star666moon Don't be an asshole. I'm just telling the truth to these cocksucking hippie fags.

  • @ometta7 Only an asshole is capable of calling others "cocksucking hippie fags".

  • @star666moon No, I'm an honest good Samaritan trying to cure these idiots of their delusion with a little tough love. You had no reason to respond to me, or to call me a talking ape like it was an insult when you know damn well how close to primates we are. It was a generalization, bitch.

  • @ometta7 You are right, I have no reason to respond to you. But you have no reason to respond to me either. As I recall, you were the one that originally reponded to my comment. If I called anyone else on this planet an taking ape, it would be an insult but unfortunately for you, it is not. Calling me a bitch and an asshole aren't insults? Don't be such a hypocrite. I don't see how you can cure delusional idiots when you are clearly one yourself. Maybe education will do you some good.

  • @star666moon Crap. I thought you were some random jerkoff. Well, I guess I should just come clean since this isn't producing the desired effect. I'm a troll, I was wanting to stir up more controversy on this video. I assumed you were a white knight, I honestly didn't even look at your username.

I'm done now. You can fuck off.

  • @kingofallpie but as the only intelligent life that can comprehend our actions, dont you think we should give the animals a humane death? or shud we cause them pain

  • @johnmcclane125 i think the first thing we should do is exterminate the humans who respond to forum posts over a year after theyre posted. plus youre not other animals so you dont know whether or not theyre aware of their actions as well (by the way: they are; theyre animals not robots).

  • @johnmcclane125 not to mention how dolphins deliberately rape humans and hippies give that a free pass

  • @johnmcclane125 I say cause them pain. I've thought about it. it's WAYY more fun that way (rolls eyes). Besides, what's the fish gonna do? file a complaint with the humane society? seriously how do you define humane anyways? it's inhumane to eat live animals but humane to put down another human culture and label an entire people as "sick" and "barbaric?" (way to imperialize your hippie ideals...westerners are very good at that though aren't we?)....so much for "all men are created equal."

  • @kingofallpie

But i don't like how the world is :((

Good thing i can always recall on god, who is by NO DOUBT REAL AND DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME OTHERWISE BECAUSE I COULDN'T BEAR MY LIFE IF I COULDN'T MAKE BELIEVE THAT ALL THIS HORRIBLE STUFF IS HAPPENING FOR A GREATER GOOD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGGHHHH

  • @CaptainKacknup Nobody's going to bother telling you otherwise, but is there any other reason aside from bizarre rationalization to back your proclamation?

  • shut up! its food anyway

  • That squid looks DELICIOUS!

people are such pussies these days...

  • Fuckin HELL!

  • ohmigod hopefully its yummy lol

  • at least you know its fresh

  • I wouldn't dare to eat it..
