  • i wish i could make something that big....:sigh:

  • That's what she said, Where are my Juggers at?

  • Wow, thats amazing to watch. Me so horny

  • i like to throw withoput a spunge. feels more natural

  • hes using the sponge to get a nice texture on the outside and do apply water to the outside of the pot so it doesnt grab and ruin the pot.

  • yeah well every one has there methods

  • lol tht must be a bitch to center lol.

  • hey pottery looks so fun and so cool. i am only 15. and does anyone know a good place to take pottery class here in spokane washington for my age? please someone help me. thank you! ^_^

  • I'm the same age as you, and I take it as my art class at school, many schools have it as an elective, you can look into that.

  • oh cool. what school do you go to? because at my schol there is no elective for pottery. lol.

  • sometimes its called ceramics

  • oh ok thanks!

  • its also called 3D art

  • I live in Spokane as well and I know U-Hi has a pottery class that is split into Intro and Advanced, advanced students use the wheel. Hope this helped.

  • he makes it look so easy. Everything I make looks like crap

  • Very nice technique! I disagree with some of the negative comments. When using this much clay it is better to keep it a little thick while on the wheel - it allows more control. Trimming the clay while leather hard to thin it out is the way to go. The thicker base lends it self to trimming a nice foot or base for the pot. I enjoyed your video very much.

  • i agree. just amachur coments

  • next time ill keep my opinions to myself although i meant to be able to say them...here is my new comment for the video 'its OK.'sorry if i annoyed anyone from what i said previously.

  • everyone is entitled to their own views so keep your wig on!!!!!!

  • not if your views suck

  • your base is too thick and you need to pull until you are fully of the pot. you need to act as if it is larger then life, i am no expert i can throw well and know what mistakes are being made

  • Not all pottery has to be thin. Have you ever felt a Greg Crowe? All potters differ. Not all pieces have to be as dainty and thin as a Sandra Black piece. I keep my bases thick but well compressed and then I like to trim. As artists, critiquing each others pieces is important, but it seems as though you just like to tell people that your way of doing things is the only way. No offence, flippinflyingmonkey.

  • well its hard to go thin then go thick

  • your not meant to have a too thick base. because it ways it down and wrecks the pot.

i know lots of teenagers and even some kids who know that. if you are going to teach how to throw you should teach slightly better. otherwise gd video

  • wonderful! thanks for all the good tips.

  • any one know cheaper pottery wheel do it by our self,Like can i use wet grinder or some electric moter any links please, Buying a pottery wheel is too costly for a god one with 1 Horse power with 250 RPM cost arround 1000 $,

  • If you want to see a 3rd generation potter that made his own wheel, watch Simon Leach. He will gladly send you plans for his Leach Kick Wheel.

  • Remember.... keep your "Rim Tight"

  • Haha advanced pottery techniques! Pull it!

  • yeaa pottery is so fun i take

it in school but i tried the wheel

    and the clay flew off

  • lol, you're not alone. that happened to me once in art class and ended up hitting my classmate. she wasn't very happy. :)

  • lol that happened to me too... i put the clay on it, and it started spinning so fast, and flung and got stuck on the wall... i was cracking up...
