can you please tell me the amp you are using because it you say its a roland micro but then on another comment you say its a vox ?
I love the sound that you are getting and I'm tired of trying different guitar pedals to create this sound . And what settings are you using on the amp? as you have to have some effect on it ?
Love it. I'm new to the harmonica and my friends want me to go with them to do an open mic night and want to do this Zepplin tune. I can only hope to be a fraction as good as you. Love your playing, it just does not get old. Thanks for sharing.
Well one thing is to start with a "c" harp. Then get a Shure Green bullet mic. Then get a really overdriven tone. I LOVE the fender Champion 600. Once you get the fat compressed fuzzed out tone, you'll see how you can get notes to rush together and sound cool. I'll reveal one secret...I'm NOT breathing in & out a million miles an hour!
Jesus Christ. I've watched this like 50 times and it just never gets boring! I must learn how to do this - where do i start? I looked up Hohner 20 on ebay - what key should I get? I can already play guitar - how long will it take to playing something remotely as good as this?
Dude I want to get a harmonica so I can play this song!!!!!! What would you say I should get to play this song and be a good beginner harmonica? What key should I get and whats a good type???
1. Why is the title "ripping"? I'm new to the harp but haven't seen that term yet.
2. This one is probably a dumb question, but when you hold those high notes, are you doing a vibrato or are you just switching back and forth between holes really quickly?
Thanks man. This is definitely some great inspiration to mess around with it for the next 10 years.
you should definitely post a tips video for that tremolo effect, it sounds reallllly good. not just stutter-tongue tremolo fast either, it sounds really unique.
for the fast parts, are you using a basic tremolo tongue-blocking technique, or is it some really hard breathing pattern that... i won't be able to do? because it sounds awesome. hah.
TheBurgerThing, If you woulda listened at 56 seconds he got pretty fast there for a few and again at 1:45 for about 25 seconds he tore it up pretty fast again. I don't think you listened very close if you don't think it was some fast playing at several points, just as advertised in the title.
fuckin great man!! ive been learnin the harp for a lil while now. but aint no where near that good. my lungs would collapse if i tried to play that fast!
do what i did, buy a cheapie 1st, just to see if you like it, i got for 7.99 a cheap swan harp, a book and a CD on how to play...I myself play everyday, and have been doing so for 2 months now, im far from good, but i see the improvements. good luck!
i thought this song was on Bb

Micocube. Set on high gain. It's screaming when you don't play. The vox is just another mini amp with decent sounds.

Bushman harps are the best IMO, but the next best thing is a Hohner special 20.

chimmister 2 years ago
Shure 520 DX mic. The amp is a little 5 watt vox. I was just messin around here.
I get the best tone from a Fender Champion 600 reissue.

Two questions though:
1. Why is the title "ripping"? I'm new to the harp but haven't seen that term yet.
2. This one is probably a dumb question, but when you hold those high notes, are you doing a vibrato or are you just switching back and forth between holes really quickly?

My techniques are simple and cheap. The mic is a green bullet and the harp is a hohner special 20 or a bushman delta frost. I went to a Vox DA5 amp.

how long you been playing
