I don't understand how people can deride this film, it is superb. It is nonsensical but it is a supernatural thriller, what were some of the critics expecting! I do think that Al is way over the top in his performance but Charlize and Keanu are excellent in their respective roles, it's Reeves' best performance in my opinion. Only in Hollywood could one 'better deal' Charlize Theron, I love it how they try and make her look 'unattractive' in that startling sex scene! Great film.

Al Pacino is probably one of the most convincing Devils I've ever seen-well written speeches, and he gives them very well, I'd compare him to other portrayals, but that may sound like favoritism, oh well. This movie creeped me out on a level that went beyond the screen. The dialogue and cinematography are just superficial elements. But I really feel there is something intangibly evil about this film, seriously.

B) Jesus had only 30-some years (if the accounts are true) C) The mythology of Satan is a beautiful angel who did not want to bow down to the "Dear leader" for every second of eternity, sounds to me the god character demands his own worship over happiness in his proclaimed paradise. So we must ask, "For whom is heaven a paradise?"
D) Overall, its an interesting story/rivalry, great symbolism, but some disappointing plot holes.

Satan acted in the same way an evil son tries to murder his wealthy father in order to gain his inheritance and depose his siblings( Micheal and Gabriel who wouldve been cast out if Satan won perhaps even destroyed) Can u tell me that it would be okay for a son to murder his own father for money and power? First off his characters are different. Godfather character is drastically different from Scarface.
Scarface goes through a transformation, so he's different even in the same movie.

If Satan is the opposer of this, then he definitely seems like a good guy in the Bible. The Bible teaches that knowledge and scepticism of authority is wrong, right in the first book in the Bible. In my opinion, God gives us all these things that we shouldn't do so He can judge our character. We can either choose to be the animals that we are, or we can aspire to be more. Without temptation, what is the Earth but a physical extension of Heaven itself?
I choose to be a human being, and reach higher, to be something better, hopefully something He would be proud of. I'm not going to preach to anyone, but this is how I feel, just while we're on the subject. Great movie! ^^
