  • lol it took that long to climb a hill

  • too busy with work recently, also the software xsi had a several update. i don't have the software anymore.

  • can you please make a tutorial on how to create hair like that in maya?

  • very nice video. what tool did you use to make this video.. i mean is it after Effects or some thing else.?

  • Very good animation! (although I still wanna know who among them is adopted T__T)

  • You have great talent in anime style texture and lighting, i amazed when watching your 'The Making' video with how your character been modeled. But when watching your animation, it gives me disappointment

Anime action movement has fast respond, so never try to smooth down their movement, try setup in stop motion pose first, then you animate their movement. Lack of Facial expression: eye contact. Use AE more on minor animation rather depend all in 3D program. Refer to "Idolmaster"

  • Tsuto!!

  • good work, keep it up, i love the style

  • Wow Man this is amazing! great work!

  • the monster kinda reminds me of code lyko i think i spelled it right

  • omgah xDD this is awesome

  • But i wondered how long was that climb

  • It reminded me of Zelda nice job

  • this is amazingly well animated! Congratulations!

  • how are things now for you after a year?

  • nice job man! Congratulations..

you make this movie in SoftImage?

  • Prefect +++

I 'd like to make 3d animation likes this

but my 3d technical is not good T^T

Your work is very very beautiful.

    I like it. ^^

  • wow...

  • could you reupload this in HD?

  • That was nice toon shading animation,i like the quality of the textures and render u put on it,also the scenarios r really well done, everything looks like an anime great job.

  • You got alot of potential , just dig into Animation Surival Kit by Richard Williams , and learn to ease in and out your animation curves. so the motion gets more fluid. Look at animation mentor reels and reach for that level of fluidity.

My best wishes , keep walking that way

  • ohh and get rid of motion builder on your pipeline , use maya or 3dstudio for ur animation , dig nto the graph editor

  • My bad dude for my tone in voice, but don't give up.

You come along way from not being able to rig, model & texture characters.

I mean I consider myself an grasshopper at animation, but that just doesn't mean one should forgot their dreams.

Because in order to succeed one has to know how to fail, like the great Walt Disney.

  • I already bought it right after this. To be honest with you, your comment cut to the core of me. I am greatly suffering from not doing what you said in the past years. Coz to most company effects is never sth they care the most, it's always the principles of animation etc. Right now I have to forget about all my dream and just focus on things which really matters, probably will have to take a year off just to learn these skills meanwhile trying to survive in this economy.

  • I think the detail is lovely but perhaps if you look at animation more instead of studying 3d software techniques, it would make your work much stronger.

I highly recommend the book Animation Surival Kit by Richard Williams. And also study anime fight sequences alot & I think you can grow lots.

  • animation is kinda stiff and jerky, character lacks weight and characters face lacks believable emotion.

The background is very vivid and pretty though, nice effort there.

When you attempt to make transition from 2d anime to 3d animation, there are simply rules that cannot be broken - example: u cannot have zero movement when the character is idling.

Best of wishes finding a job though, you certainly made heck of an effort completing this piece. Well done!

  • good reply, yes job-wise, I am suffering from being inexperience. I had my dream for this one, from now on i have to realize the reality and accept it. Thanks body, always come and check my stuff. I will always create more and more 3d content

  • @showntian Don't accept anything! Still go for it! I have no experience job-wise either but im stll pulling through to make it happen. Ifs its all you have left between being truely happy and just getting by why settle! Make your dreams come true through prayer and faith, believe you can make it and claim it as your own. Nevermind haters and critics, because they can't do what your doing. God bless you and keep moving forward! Final thought, its took Jon Lassiter twenty years to get to the top.

  • nice comment body, as you can see there are many rooms for future improvements. Nowadays I decided to start from the scratch, learning the basics of computer animation since I don't think I really fully understand any.

  • Oooh that was really nice. I just don't get why he shot an arrow up there to climb with a rope, and later on they're not even using the rope anymore ..

The emotion the characters displayed in the beginning was really fake. They didn't even move at 0:45 which made them look like puppets. The smiling was way too much, but later on the movement of the lips were just right (especially at 3:46).

    Good job.

  • xsi

  • Very impressive! What were the programs that were use?

  • it's a texture, don't think anyone will model an eye without texture.

  • That's pretty cool, How did you do the eyes, are they a texture map or are they actual geometry?

  • Good job !!

  • So cool. nice Style
