I loved TNA, with the innovation of the X division, the quality of the matches, the surprisingly good story lines, and even the belts were pretty cool, but something happened a couple of years back, It started to suck, The wrestlers were not doing as good as they were, they started to recycle old story lines and even take some from other companies. Then with bringing in the wrestlers that WWE and New Japan Pro Wrestling didn't want to have anymore or had to get rid of, they doomed themselves.

The great thing about TNA isactually I dont know where I was going with that. This week's IMPACT definitely had its highs and lows (more lows), but once again failed to put talent over that should be put over. The emphasis was on Angles hatred of Hogan, Foleys hatred of Bischoff and Hall and 6 Pac showing up (who cares?). I still see the show as an amateur attempt at competing with WWE (much lower than WWE in ratings) and a cluster of confusion.. What's next ?!?!!?

Except that WWE is the same old boring crap we've been seeing for a while now, for the most part. Yeah the names may have changed (Sheamus instead of Orton, for instance), but it's still the same thing over and over. It's boring. WWE became complacent in it's dominance. I really hope TNA does take the fight to WWE. Both companies, and more importantly the fans, will benefit from that. The Guest GM's aren't helping matters, and Bret was especially a failure in that role.

I'm not sure WWE would want to be marketed as "real wrestling". They are the "real sports entertainment". I'm not sure if TNA is wrestling or "SE". They have a lot of talking with golden oldies then some strange play fights in the ring. Interestingly I only watch TNA because at least there is hope with TNA. WWE will stay like it is for a long long time.

Well, it's almost been 1 year since this was posted and look at the "great" results. Ratings are at an all time low, wrestlers ability and gimmicks ruined even more( Abyss, Samoa Joe), Talented wrestlers depushed and fired(Christopher Daniels) while horrid old guys are getting the push(Hulk Hogan)

TNA iMPACT! on Thursday earned a 1.2 cable rating ?!?! That is the 2nd week in a row under 1.2 (rounded up)! The ratings are going down now, and actually in October of 2009 (before Hogan duh) TNA did a 1.3.. TNA is not building a fan base, and losing money left and right due to the investments into Hogan, Bischoff, Flair (salaries and promotion).. This is a complete and dismal failure. Monday shows are CANCELLED, and Hogan will soon be GONE. How dare they actually use the word WAR ... LMFAO

(.... the ratings will continue to fall, and Hogan will be gone soon.....not working, new fans aren't watching TNA, and they are losing money left and right)

Thursday's edition of TNA Impact scored a 1.2 rating, rounded up from 1.18, with 1,559,000 viewers. Wow, they ratings went down and still have not been near the 1.5 during the Monday Hogan debut show..even before Hogan came, TNA was doing around 1.1 ratings.. they aren't buidling their audience at all here. What does TNA have to do to build the company and bulid the quality of IMPACT? The numbers translate into a monumental failure in the making. This is clearly NOT working.

I remember around BFG 2009, there was a major improvement in the product, and my expectations for TNA sored towards the heavens. Then they announced Hoegan's signing, and all hope was lost.

Hogan can't help TNA get anywhere (see ratings report above)..but how did Vince ruin ECW? The show was gone and dead, and Vince brought it back and tried with the original concept with Sandman, Balls, etc but nobody watched it. The ratings were god-awful and SYFY was not going to renew the show's contract.. WWE had to make it a place for young talent or it wouldnt be around... even though, it is kinda boring :-)

I love the face that i can watch multiple 10-15+ matches between two good wrestlers with clean pin finishes opposed to long attitude era storylines... but yea it does get boring at times. The great thing about TNA isactually I dont know where I was going with that. This week's IMPACT definitely had its highs and lows (more lows), but once again failed to put talent over that should be put over. The emphasis was on Angles hatred of Hogan, Foleys hatred of Bischoff and Hall and 6 Pac showing up (who cares?). I still see the show as an amateur attempt at competing with WWE (much lower than WWE in ratings) and a cluster of confusion.. What's next ?!?!!?

this past week's IMPACT episode was much better than last week's, and i am excited to see the ratings. TNA has a lot of work to do to really build this company and put on a quality TV show, to even compete and get half of RAW's ratings weekly. There is still too much goofy crap in TNA with this Hogan Era... ugh why The Nasty Boys? Let's not try to re-create the 90s anymore, these skits they do are just awful and WHY end the show with Jeff Jarrett in a match? nobody has EVER cared about JJ

Dress it up all you want, but the start of 2010's PPV season for TNA is much the same the way 2009 started - many gimmicks, matches announced late and resulting confusion for PPV buyers. This show was a disaster except for Angle/Styles... Hogan and Flair were useless, Jeff Hardy was at home smoking dope, Scot Hall didnt wrestle (Nash and 123 Kid did awful), Sting did nothing, Nothing changed, this is the same old TNA. The buyrates (like the ratings, already down under 1.3?!) are gonna be awful

Except that WWE is the same old boring crap we've been seeing for a while now, for the most part. Yeah the names may have changed (Sheamus instead of Orton, for instance), but it's still the same thing over and over. It's boring. WWE became complacent in it's dominance. I really hope TNA does take the fight to WWE. Both companies, and more importantly the fans, will benefit from that. The Guest GM's aren't helping matters, and Bret was especially a failure in that role.

@Dracoa79 Everybody wants competition for WWE ur right on that point but TNA is not the answer all they are doing is dragging wrestling back into the gutter by having pops at wwe and using wcw storylines this will do nothing for wrestling.I just hope another promotion gets major investment and the squared circle gets a real future.

He's a genius businessman, thought, and his charisma is enough to do a crapload amount of damage. Bret returning is going to be awesome. HBK will win the Rumble, face Taker at Mania, and Bret will come in with a chair, or something, and screw HBK. All order will be restored. It's going to be great.

the impact zone has created a better lifestyle for the wrestlers. a lot less traveling ...
as for ratings, tna is looking for a big jump here ... this isn't a small move, it's a big gamble ... if it works it's gonna be awesome ...
as for live arena shows ... they have to grow more slowly ... spending cash on a lowly attended event will hurt the company more than spending on a lowly viewed time slot ....

Heres some facts for the TNA dreamers. WWE = Average rating 3.5. TNA = Average rating 1.0. WWE = Multi billion dollar global company. TNA = relys on loans and cant get out of Florida. WWE = Giving young guys a chance. TNA = Hires every old reject. WWE = Sells out 3 arena shows a week. TNA = Cant even fill 1 studio a week. Lets all be honest we want competition for WWE but TNA is not the answer and there is no monday night wars WWE has already won.

You guys know that at 8:55 PM or so on 1-4-10, TNA will have some sort of bombshell so that whoever tuned in at 8pm will not turn to RAW at 9pm. RAW will start off with Brett Hart. This will be the first time RAW has had competition in almost 9 years, wow!!!
