yes RIP steve jobs. very sad news. comments about the ipad though. it has no place. yes, it is more intimate than a laptop and more capable than a smart phone. but it's less capable than a laptop and more cumbersome than a smart phone. it doesn't fit in your pocket, so you have to carry it. if you have to carry it you might as well carry a laptop. it's a nice gadget, but at the price it is, for me it wouldn't be an addition to having a laptop it would be a substitute.

Also the average user will blindly accept that they have the best product when there are alternative choices out there, without full knowledge of the competitor, not to mention their own device. Why spend more money for an inferior product when you could buy a cheaper product that works WAY better? iPad: $499 and up, Galaxy Tab (Google Android) $249 AND can do everything the iPad does... and way more.

its good, because its like you take monitor with you, its light, its like a million books in such a device. Very comfortable, but of course there are less use than lap top, but, its shouldn't be. So, personally, i think that i Pad is accomplishes its use as device between smart phone and laptop.

I own an engineering business and thought this would be slick to carry without all the baggage of a small PC.

Not only is it fast, but I can now thanks to all the free apps view our AutoCad design files on it and edit them in the field. Now with the free " remote "app it doubles as my remote control for my stereo outside on my deck allowing me to play all of my Itunes songs that are shared on multiple PC's and IMacs.

I thought this was just going to be a large ipod touch but once you have one and play with it you realise the massive potential it has. There are some shortcomings like no DIVX playback and flash not being supported but there are apps to get around this. Very cool device
