  • As a technician, I always question peoples knowledge of this field when they refer to refrigerant as "Freon" all the time. Freon is just a brand of r-22 like coke or pepsi is to soda. Its made by DuPont. DuPonts new R-410a is called "Puron". Your average person has always heard it called this so thats why everyone says "I think I need some of that Freon stuff".

  • I enjoyed the video. Excellent. It answered most of my questions. Here is my problem. My ac unit stop cooling. I do not believe it is low of freon. How do I check the freon levels? I do get the ice on the unit, but it is not on the coils. Just on one of the pipe things. It turns out that my air filters were waaaaay past due for being changed. I have changed all 3 of them and turned on the machine again but it ices up again. If the freon level is correct & the unit is clean, how long 2 turn on ac

  • Thanks. for the helpful information

  • If you find your AC freezing up even on hot days, there's definitely some problem with the machine. I suggest you call the repair and maintenance guys to take care of the problem.

  • Mooseguy your an idiot!!!
