SS Rotterdam of 1915 is very beautiful Ocean liner & so is Nieuw Amsterdam. I HATE everything about scrap merchants. I HATE them, I HATE what they do to Ocean Liners & I REALLY HATE their no good God Damn Fucking business.
Too cool! I've seen photos before but it is rather exciting to see film of a ship an ancestor arrived on. I bet he was 3rd class though. LOL
For the comments in English, The ROTTERDAM IV was sold to Dutch breakers in Jan of 1940. Basically they stripped them, recycled, and the hulls were left in a ship graveyard.
@sanderrodijk The ship open fir public in Rotterdam is the Rotterdam V. The Rotterdam IV, on which my grandfather was a ships carpenter, was demolished in 1940.
Rotterdam IV bijna 250 miljoen euro.
The Nieuw Amsterdam is one of my favorite ocean liners of the Holland America Line. Absolutly love it. The music really conveys the sense of how beautiful the liners were.
This is the ship that took the Srp side of my family to America. Fasinating stuff!
