Thanks to ole Vern I was burning the candle at both ends at the Dallas pseudo "honky tonks", Bell Star, Diamond Jims and Cowboys. Boy, those were the days and Vern was definitely a big catalyst in the 80's and if I wasn't listening at the joints I had him on casette for the truck trips.

This is a neat song. I noticed the phrasing pattern is not usual.

For example the first  verse is like this (count 1 note to the bass guitar part):

1234567,1234567, 1234,1234,1234. Then 123 before the bridge starts.

Then the bridge is 1234, 1234, 1234567, 1234,1234.

And there is one extra count in the second verse (after the word 'floor'. compared to the first.

Don't usually analyze like this but I'm thinking of doing a cover version and it is certainly unusual phrase timing.

But good song.
