i only want to know how to use japanese text on my wii. (i.e. i want to rename my mii in japanese characters.) i tried to find a way to copy paste from the internet channel, i tried to google a way to bluetooth my moto droid (which has a japanese keyboard app and a bluetooth keyboard output app) to my wii and could find nothing in that regard either. there has to be a way. can you help me out?

okay ppl its okay to get this you need priiloader its on wii brew just instal it and iff your wii gets bricked HOLD RESET it will take you to PRELOADER a diffrent 1 and it will atomatic un brick it

big thanks for this.. just bought a cheap US wii 4.1off ebay, but was having probs getting back to the menu (black screen) when playing pal backups. downgraded to 3.2u then used this to install pal menu, then change all setting to pal. its now a pal wii..thanks again :)

when i try to downgrade my system menu to 3.2, i get an error saying that it cant remove some files, so it's aborted.

the same happens when i try to change the area setting....

is it because i have to change it to 3.2e then 3.2j?

(i want 3.2j, but i have 3.2u now.)

What system menu version are you using? I don't think you can downgrade using this with any version over 3.3.

I had another question SMGPlayer, the Wiibrew page for AnyRegion Changer states :

Doesn't that mean I can't change my wii shop region to a Japanese format?

Yeah, you might not be able to. This video was made when the Wii Shop Channel still worked on the system menu version that this works on. Since then it has been updated.

I need to change my region to Japan and Wii Shop Channel to Japan as well, but do I need to use the 'downgrade to 3.2J' first, change the area settings to Japan, and set the Wii Shop Channel to 1? I think that sounds right but I would like your advice. Thanks

I don't think you would have to change the whole system menu version. You can change the game region and Wii Shop region without changing that.

im using this in 4.0 i was able to change the language to japanese... but i cant seem to install "system 3.2" without it crashing i want to change my 4.0 to full japanese not just the warning screens.

You can't do it on version 4.0. You're going to have to downgrade to do it. (I think the maximum version is 3.3.)

Nope, I'm sorry but 4.0 doesn't allow you to do to various exploits in the system menu that 4.0 fixes. I guess you'll just have to wait for a workaround, sorry. :-(

Be VERY careful when using apps like that, you're lucky you avoided a full brick. Review what they do and what system menu version you need before you use them.

can it be used in either region without affection the wii negatively? ive read somewhere that using the shop channel after this hack is risky and could brick your wii, is this true?

Not from my experience. One of my friends that has a PAL Wii sent me a game a while ago. It worked with the region changer patch except for the fact that my television was not compatible with PAL video. I would venture to say that Japanese games would work fine because they use NTSC.

Why the "Game Region Setting" is not touched at all, I do know what the video output is for, but if you have a JAP Wii and want to fully make it USA you'll have to also change that "Game Region Setting" to USA, right..?? same as "Console Area Setting", so your USA games now can be readen, right..??

As far as I know, you should change any setting you can into USA. Just don't change anything in a way that could brick your Wii.
