  • Thank you very much sir!!!!!!!::))))

  • i download msi afterburner but i dont know how to get the fps up while im playing

  • @secret4722

  • @toutagamon can you make more vids of ati 5850? ive seen all the ones you currently have..more oblivion or anything:)

  • @secret4722

More 5850 videos will be uploaded as new games are coming mate.

  • @toutagamon lol topiasa xD

  • Thanks for answear

  • Sorry for poor english. What monitor you have when you recorded video from Oblivion, please say model, if you can all configuration, freqvancy and other, thanks

  • @Bol6woyPAPA

It is not a monitor. It is a Philips HDTV. 32PFL9603D/10

  • Wait: why take cam video to show off the graphics? This does not make sense.

  • @LightningHammer

Oh yes it does, because this is not a gameplay video, it is a benhcmark video. There are many hints throughout mate.

Why would I go into the trouble of specifically mentioning the specs and frequencies at the title, why would I record cpuz and gpuz readings, why would I show the settings I used and last but not least, why would I start a benchmark session with fraps and show the result at the end of the video?

Hope this makes more sense now! ;)

  • How do you show how much FPS you get?

  • @RogueFighter15

There are many programs that do that. Fraps, Rivatuner, MSI Afterburner being some of them.

  • @toutagamon which on are you using in this video?

  • @secret4722

I am using MSI afterburner for the red counter and fraps to gather framerate data.

  • haha oblivions like a 4 year old game yet its still such a system hog :D im literally addicted to this game.i NEED IT.

  • how can you play this game? the game doesnt even support ati 5850. i only get a black screen. please help

  • @Diamondus123

What do you mean it doesn't support the 5850? I run it in single 5850 as well as crossfire 5850!

Try launching it from the OblivionLauncher.exe and reset the options.

  • @toutagamon probably read bottom of box... lol

  • I get about the same FPS (+10 fps) on my Core i7 @ 2.8Ghz with an Intel X25M SSD, 6GB of DDR 1600, and a HD 5850. No matter what hardware you have, you can never get rid of the stuttering when the game loads the textures from far away when you're for instance, traveling on a horse at a reasonable pace.

  • @Cypherus21

    Heheh, yes I know.

Try to watch the same video on my Core i7 860. There is a huge difference. Actually, Oblivion and Cellfactor, were the two higher performing games on my core i7 compared to my Q.

There's also a Q9550 vs Core i7 compilation video, that has an interesting link in the description! ;)

  • @toutagamon actually theres a mod to help reduce the stutter..well a few actually that dont comepletely remove it but its like a split second or so which makes it waayy smooth.

  • yeah wauw! How old is this game.. from 2005 or something? I get higher FPS in BFBC2, with DX11

  • @NickereN2O

It doesn't matter how old it was.

This game was part of a huge benchmark suite and I wanted to test as many as I could. It has been used in comparison of a GTX 460 with a 5850, one 5850 vs two 5850s and Q9550 vs Core i7.

  • @toutagamon oh cool :D

  • i think you can use both AA and AF with HDR if you force it on wiht your video card, lose a few framerates though, but with bloom on and AA and AF its a little more preferable than HDR.

  • @alucard45cal

If you force it maybe you could, but this video was used in a benchmark suite, so I wanted to use default settings.

  • why AA off?

  • @agbuk2007

Because it disables HDR if you enable it, in this game. I prefer HDR.

  • @toutagamon I don't own a Radeon but i'm pretty sure you can force AA in the Catalyst Control Center

  • @StylusEcho18

You missed my previous answer @alucard, hey?

  • Meh, without mods, that is nothing. I have almost the same setup, but no overclock, and without mods I run Oblivion on 60 FPS all the time, highest possible settings, no problem.

  • @Ethilien

This video was a part of a of a benchmark suite and I wanted to use standard settings. It was meant to be used for reference only. Interestingly enough, It also turned out to be very cpu limited. You should watch the same video with my Core i7.

  • o_o thanks for all ur replies to my question :D

    ProcyonAlpha and toutagamon

  • what does V.Sync do?

  • Have a look at wikipedia. It is perfectly explained! ;)

  • I have an Core 2 Duo CPU 2.40 GHz

    1GB RAM

and im going to get and 8800 Ultra.

Do you think I can play with an decent FPS(above 35) on normal graphics at 1280x1024 resolution?

  • 8800 Ultra? Why on earth do you want a three year old card man?

    Why don't you get a GTS 250?

  • Because I'm poor and cant affort a new GPU :(

  • Well I undestand that, but the 8800 Ultra is a power hog, so the money you save from buying a better card, will end up being paid in electricity bills anyway!

  • Comment removed

  • @toutagamon I'm gonna save my money to buy an HD5770, they arent old, good price, and some great FPS on high settings in games like Oblivion, GTA IV Cod 6 and al those games.

  • That's a good choice! ;)

  • BTW, you didnt have an pants on! :-D

  • whic one is better the GTS 250 or the ATI 5850 sorry dude im a noob at this but great vid!

  • They are pretty much equal.

No problem mate. Noone knows everything. ;)

  • The 5850 destroys the gts 250, not even in the same league dude. The 5850 is a tiny, tiny bit faster than a GTX285

  • Correct. My bad. Though he was talking about the 4850.

  • the ATi HD 5850 is much better than the GTS 250

  • Correct. My bad. Thought he was talking about the 4850.

  • Oh crap. ProcyonAlpha is absolutely right. Dude I thought you were asking about the 4850. My bad.

The 5850 is much better indeed!

  • @toutagamon its alrite thnx again bro

  • you should talk a little louder

  • nope

  • how do i get that menu

  • @jagger1865

You launch oblivionlauncher.exe from your game's installation folder

  • Where do you find your wall paper ?

  • P2P mostly

  • Damn a bit of an overkill for Oblivion but awesome nonetheless!

  • Surprisingly, Oblivion turned out to be very CPU limited. It runs much better on my Core i7 with the same card! :S

  • lol ya, with all that open world rendering, oblivion sucks everything out of a CPU. As does Fallout 3!

  • Is your processor overclocked to 4 GHz with stock cooling, or do you have extra fans or something?

  • @MouthofSaurons

    I have a Noctua cooler.

  • who's the girl in backround (Wallaper)

  • Is this the fps one should be expecting for such a system in this game (that came out 4 video card generations ago(!!!)...)? Or are you using some unconventional benchmarking mode/settings/modification/whatever?

Either way, no AA, seriously? Or is that like from the old HDR+AA problem at that time (which I don't believe exists anymore)?

  • As I said in my earlier replies, the game is abviously underperforming. See the gpu usage graph at the end!

For that specific engine HDR and AA do not work together and I avoid using enforced modes!

  • No, you are a damn idiot, as you just pointed out.

LOL, "tree hugger", get a newer line, freak, one that's at least not older than you by more than 30 years. Get real you little snot-nosed fuck, you're only underlining your own idiocy.

  • True HD

  • Great vid man!

  • 60 fps :D, 4870x2 does a bit better. *Don't poke I'm grasping for straws*

  • The average at the end is 81.515FPS but as you can see from the gpu usage graph, the card is only used in half!

  • well.. you might think the 4870x2 is better, but this card takes half the power, and stays alot cooler. All for less money or same amount.. 5800's FTW!

  • @PS3andPCgamereviews I don't honestly care how much power the thing uses, i care about how much power the thing puts out, and right now, thats the 4870x2.

  • Thank god(!?!) we're not all as ignorant as you.

  • @NeoXF Your calling me ignorant, right now, i can support both of these cards, however, the 4870x2 still edges out both of them, where is the ignorance, maybe arrogance, I'm not a damn treehugger boy, conserve your energy somewhere else.

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZ game but nice graphics.

  • Nice! How will this game run with 8x AA?

  • I could be wrong but this game doesn't support AA when HDR is enabled.

  • Wrong,You can enable AA+HDR in your drivers

  • @ GTXMAN

I know that, i said the game doesnt support it. ofc you can force it through CCC

  • Actually it is not so nice. As you can see at the end, the card is not at full speed yet.

I prefer HDR over AA in this game. True HDR and AA do not play together in this engine.
