@donkeycheeks You've never heard one of her acoustic performances. She has some serious talent. With pipes like that, I think she can get away with what she wants. I've seen tackier stagings of classical operas (verdi's La Traviata, for example). She has rabid fans (myself included, a coloratura soprano studying classical singing) and quite a few awards. No offense, but I think maybe she already IS recognised as a credible artist?
