in europe the ps3 60 giga price is stuck at 599 euros (about 780$) it seems that sony cannot make the difference between eros and Us dollars (wich is 1.3 $ for a euro)

The 360 Elite would cost that much after tax. The 60 gig (which will be out of stock soon, and never come back) would cost about 20 to 40 dollars more after tax.
