Great job! I'm about to have the same surgery and I am so afraid of losing my results, which inevitably will happen. I've done P90X since 2008 and have had stellar results. I hope I can get to the same place you are at afterwards!
hey i had dermatomyositis which is a muscle disease I can only do ten push ups now and its extreamly hard what kind of excersises do you recomend so I can do 30 and start p90x
awesome man! I had reconstructive shoulder surgery june 28th and I just started rehab 2 weeks ago. i am 26yrs old..Im ready to be in the best shape of my life! very inspirational dude!
@mduxburygrip yes, 103 on the legs/back day which has 8 sets of all diff pullups... i did another 60 days or so and brought that total to about 130 at my peak...
so did your shoulder recover fully after surgery? mine didnt i also had arthroscopic surgery for a torn labrum and its been 1 1/2 years and i still have some scar tissue in my shoulder but it is still healing,
@accordbord i had 3 repairs to the rotator cuff and labrum, and yes the shoulder has healed and recovered 100%. I would say it was about a year and a half afterwards that I was doing all sports and lifting. Now I would say my right is stronger than my left! You have to work as hard as possible in the beginning, you only have one shot to rehab it correctly... thankfully my physical therapist made that clear!
@uomofedele really? 100% meaning no scar tissue around the shoulder because that it the most difficult to treat after surgery is the scar tissue residue and gain all the range of motion mine still is not 100% and its been 1 year 8 months did you had massage therapy.
@accordbord thanks for the message, 100% means i have complete range of motion and strength back. I started p90x just 4 months after surgery, and I truly believe that I found this program at the perfect time, and it was the perfect rehab. Instead of a lull after PT I went straight into it and all the yoga and stretching and strengthening was just what I needed. After surgery your body wants to permanently heal, and you only have a small window to affect that process!
@uomofedele that is great man i will try the program so i will have a chance to recover 100% even though its been a year and 8 months since my surgery.
I love your story man, and you know what, its just about the same time i had my shoulder surgery and i have had an affect on my body because of it. your inspiring me right now to do p90x for 90 days right now, do the ab ripper. run. I would like to just say thank you, and i know i can make a comeback. im 17 years old and i know if you can do it, i can. meassage me, ill explain what happened!
@G4mainia thanks for the message! and I have never been in shape like this, so if i can do it, you ABSOLUTELY can too, message me any time with your story!
Congratulations man! I was just wondering...when you got done the 90 days, what kind of workouts, and how many workouts a week would you do to maintain your results from day 90? And what was your diet like for the 90 days? Did you stick to the plan perfectly or did you ever cheat?
@sdoggett13 To maintain my results I did half of only two of the muscle days(25 minutes, 12 exercises total) and two of the cardio days(eg, yoga/kempo one week) so i worked out 4 days a week, two for an hour each and two for 30 min each. the diet was easy. no snacks, soda or booze. i ate meals from any part of the diet book, but ignored quantity and ate till full. once a week i did what i want(eg, pizza, snacks,15 drinks - but next day u pay for it!:) i didn't cheat from this till after 90.

how tall are you? we have about the same build as far as shape, but you look like you may be a bit shorter than me. I don't know if that makes any sort of difference, but just curious, and if you are my size it's even more motivation. (I'm 6'4" btw)
@jerkbeast81 I am just about 6'3" barefoot. I have to say that I never had real definition before this program. I really feel like it almost changes your frame! Afterwords it is very easy to cut back on the workouts and maintain almost all your results...
Hi, inspirational what you have achieved . I have had the same operation and its still painful after 3 months. Were you still having discomfort / pain when you started training. What did your surgeon recommend, because I am wanting to start training again
@suzyam750 Actually I had pain in certain positions like sleeping chest down with arms under my face(like i prefer to) for over a year! Around day 35 I was able to do full pain-free pushups and day 60 I did my first full pain-free pull-up. But regarding exercising I will say no. I had pain-free range of motion after 3 months and all through rehab I worked as hard as I could, but STOPPED when I felt real pain. You have to find the balance of healthy "working through it" and real "bad" pain.
Great results... thanks to your friend, Rod, for sharing. Although results always happen faster for you young'uns.... wish I could get similar results in 90, but doesn't happen like that for us older ladies with thyroid and meno issues. :( I have the program, though... perhaps it is worth another try. Thanks for sharing... keep bringing it... you should be proud!
In response to mvrussell1008's comment. These results are NOT unreal! At least not for uomofedele. Hard work and dedication is what it takes. Very few have it. This guy does...
I was living with you at the time and watched as you let nothing stop you from reaching your goal. The consistency and dedication it took to achieve those results, especially with having so many other responsibilities in your life, was simply amazing. As good of results with the program as anyone will see. Nice job bro!

Your Day 1 looks like me now. Unfortunately, I'm 200lbs and am shooting for 240.
Great results for you. Congratulations.
