  • Mille grazie for solving my Mario Kart 7 issue! After I tried your guide I got a new error message saying "001-0502" or something, but I just deleted the existing internet connection setting on my 3DS, established a brand new connection, and now it works fine.

  • thanks :')

  • Still get an error everytime i try to on a WorldWide match. Whata shame :/

  • I dont know how to get to my configuration page of my router! :(

  • My router doesn't support DMZ :/

  • I enabled the DMZ but the game won't connect to the server.

  • i registered my NETGEAR router and updated it to the american firmware (im living in switzerland). no it finaly works!

  • Error still happens and we all know that Nintendo support won't help. Nintendo shouldn't of rushed to make the Nintendo 3DS online...god why must nintendo do this to their fans?! DX

  • @SuperJonnyMario

It's basically required to have a super duper fast Router with incredible signal range in order for this to work.

  • It doesn't work with me :( I don't know what happened. I did everything that you have done, but then it won't even let me connect to the internet when I try to connect online on Mario Kart 7. Please reply back as soon as you can and help! Thanks in advance :)

  • HELP i dont know how to acces the DMZ

  • @ToxicAngel7321

You find it on your routers settings through the web. You need to go to your advanced settings. It should be under something to do with DMZ.

Going to be flat out honest though. Nintendo did a horrible job of the servers in this game. What a pitty considering it is Nintendo's best wi-fi games.

  • So I changed everything. The DNS you gave me and I added 10 points to my IP. Changed the DMS settings and then I got left with the same results. Any ideas in what i might have done wrong?

  • Seeing a lot of satisfied comments. I don't know if it's the same problem you's were all having.

My problem is everyone starts driving 1 mph or just stops and then I get DC'd a few mins after.

If this is the same problem then how will doing this to my 3DS increase my chances of not getting an error? How does this method work and what is it that prevents me from staying in matches? If I do change it to this setting will it give my 3DS better attention from my router/modem?

  • Sweeet. Its suddenly fun to play again now that i dont have to keep doing grand prix for coins

  • HOlY COW IT WORKED! It dint work the first time, so keep trying guys. About to join the next race right now!

  • Oh, Thank You Very Much, You Helped Me

  • Sorry, but I can´t find the DMZ settings :(

My modem is Huwaei HG 530

    Please help me find it!

  • eshop works... internet works... mario kart does not work... and it was the fist time i got that error... i really hope its just the servers and not my console!

  • hey i made it now :D but when i was going in mario kart i could not connect to nintendo network i got error code: 001-0502. ??

  • i did all you said and heres what i got: antoher device is using the same IP addres. so the connection was refused. dunno what to do!

  • Thank you! It worked. Maka Wuhu glitchers are devil spawn.

  • done all the steps until i got to the reuter manual bit...i don't have my reuter manual!! is there anything i can do????

  • @singie1 try to search on google for your router model, maybe you'll find informations or the manual to download!

  • I´ll Try it, but, does it have secundary effects on the computers, laptops, cell phones, wii, etc?

Or just confg. the connection to the wi-fi again?

  • @ElAdriansMx Personally for me it didn't change anything, i mean all the other stuff i have, pc, 360, cellphone etc can all go to internet like before

  • @BaCkuPFDTos Thanks so much man, I´ll try it tomorrow! And I´m gonna suscribe too! Thanks!

  • THANK YOU IT WORKS <333333

  • My IP adress changed. I followed your steps and it connects...not to see if Mario Kart Works.

  • i tryed all of this and i'm still getting communication errors every 30 secs... anyone help?

  • Oh yeah it worked!

  • worked thnx

  • when I try to connect, It doesn't give me any errors anymore, it says I cant connect to server. So I guess this worked.

  • Hello, i have probs to with that error but if i found a match can play it without error code.

Help and where u find DMZ?

  • thankyou so dang much dude

  • OMG this has helped me so much thanks alot I FINALLY got rid of the errors trust me it was frustrating not beinng able to play others and only be offline so thanks its funner :)

  • Nevermind. It still happens to me, but just happens less...

  • I have another solution.. It doesn't matter what wireless Security Mode you have, I simply made the password of the wireless on my router contains a capital letter, a small letter and numbers (example: Aa1234567) and now I have no errors while playing MK7 online! As strange as that sounds.. It did work for me! It might be a glitch in my router.. I don't know.. But it doesn't harm anyone to try it anyways!

  • @MrBareed235 You should make a video with this idea and then create a video response to this video.

  • Comment removed

  • Nevermind, thanks :D

    I got it.

  • The DMZ settings on my router settings only allows me to change the last digits of my laptop's IP. How do I enter the IP of my 3DS?

  • Everything works and then it asks for the DNS? I try putting it in from what you've said...It connects to the access points but not the internet.

  • @xSteel40 dmz. not dns.

  • @xTristanJayHx What do you man "DMZ. Not DNS"? It specifically asks for my DNS on the Nintendo 3DS.

  • @xSteel40 oh i thought you meant in the pc. my bad :P

  • @xTristanJayHx Why is the online for this game having problems anyway? I changed my setting to DMZ yesterday. It worked okay. It had one communication error but it was better than what I usually get.

  • Ahh! I've found it! Ok, thankyou so much, ive not fully done this yet as my 3DS ran out of power half way through, so i'll wait, THANKS YOU THOUGH IF IT WORKS! :D

  • :( Im having this problem, and on my CMD it only has a little bit of writing at the top...

  • Hello there

this video is great and im useing it to help me out as i got the same problem you had.

im just cunfused when you said "add 10 points at the end of the IP address" i looked at your example but i still don't get it,could you try and expain it to me again please. I mostly got the game so i could play online so if you could reply then you might save my life! :D

  • @LeonSuperMarioTime let's say that your IP address is

    192.154.1.110

if you add 10 points it will be:

    192.154.1.120

or, if your ip address is

    188.132.2.170

    if you add 10:

    188.132.2.180

You just have to take the last part of the ip address and do + 10, got it now?

  • @BaCkuPFDTos, oh, i understand now, Thankyou so much for your help, i will now try this out and let you know if it helped :)

  • Comment removed

  • I did exactly everything this video explained, and it's still not working for me. The connection test worked, but I'm still getting the same errors.

  • Thank you So much!!!!! it worked i can now play online!!! :) :)

  • All I had to do was change the IP Address. Thanx! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Can you help me? I do all you say but i got suck when putting in my Gateway number, because when i open up the CMD and type in "ipconfig/all" i get the IP address and the Subnet Mask and below it, it says gateway but it has no Numbers. Please Help Me!

  • This... helped, but I'm still having some issues. Thought, I am able to have 3 or 4 races now, rather than just 1 if I'm lucky.

  • Still took forever to load races and find races. Maybe it's just the servers fault on these crowed holiday afternoons?

  • Thanks, worked great for me.

  • Grazissime!

  • WTF , THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! Its working :D

  • I finally found the solution for the errors! I've been searching for hours and hours on Google and Youtube with no luck untill I found it on one of the fourms. I simply changed the Security Mode for the wireless on my router to (WEP 64 bit) and IT WORKED! I have just finished my first Mario Kart 7 online race!

I really hope it works for everybody..

because It worked for me like a charm!

  • @MrBareed235 How do I change it?

  • @ReligiousHero It depends on your router.. Mine is SpeedTouch 585v6.. and this is how you do it: 1- Go to router's page on the browser. 2- Click on "Home Network" on the left. 3- Click on "WLAN: SpeedTouch" 4- Click on "Configure" 5- At the "Encryption" choose "WEP" 6- At the "WEP Key Length" choose "64 bit" 7- At the "WEP Encryption Key" choose your wireless password. 8- Click "Apply" and you're done. then delete your connection on 3DS and search again for your wireless.
  • Guys I found DMZ on my router which is THOMSON SpeedTouch 585v6 (might work on other THOMSON routers). Go to the router's page, then "Home Network" then "Devices". At the bottom of the page click on "Assign the public IP address of a connection to a device". Click on "Edit". Under "Device" you should choose your 3DS, then click on "Apply" HOWEVER, the problem is I don't find my 3DS there! even tho I find it on my wireless list outside the DMZ. Can anyone try it and see if it works for you?

  • I added 10 points to the end of the IP Address, but my brothers bloody iPod touch shares the same IP Address, so the 3DS is refusing the connection. Help please!

  • @TheSparklePanda then instead of 10 points, add 11

  • @BaCkuPFDTos I added 11 but it shares the same IP Address as MY iPod Touch, so I added 13, but it said it is the same as another devices IP Address.. (I couldn't work out which) so I added 98 points and it still said it is the same as another devices IP Address!!!! UGHH why is it so frustrating?!?

  • @TheSparklePanda Is your internet have a WPA-PSK [TKIP] password

  • @redice1024 yeah, it does

  • @TheSparklePanda ive had the same problem with older ds games and psp games when going online. For some reason that internet type isnt supported that much

  • @redice1024 Oh:( Yeah, its really not supported much at all. I had so many problems getting online with Mario Kart on my DSi (the old mario kart, not the new one) and after months of research I read somewhere online that the old DS mario kart only supports WEP keys, which is really annoying. I can change from my WPA-PSK key to WEP key, but it's not safe with all these hackers. I am getting a new router soon, will that help or make things worse?

  • @TheSparklePanda There are multiple types of WPA. I thought that as long as it had a password it was fairly safe. I dont know where you live, but for me as long as i have some type of password im far enough from my neighbors to have the signal be weak enough for them not to steal off my internet. Set up your router not using [TKIP].

  • now i cant connect to mario kart 7 online but i can view webpages and everything :/

  • im following you step but after i put the ip-adres en subnet and gateway in.

i get an message that i use the wrong adres

  • If you have a PC with the suitable hardware use connectify. It works for me like a charm.

  • @Jimmy1994ification I tried Connectify, It didn't work for me :(

  • BRAVO

  • It's working now that I have restarted my 3ds, laptop and router. thanks for the great video :D

  • This didn't work for me, but maybe Nintendo will fix the problem. it's REALLY getting on my nerves.

  • i give up, i cant find this stupid dmz thing, i give up playing mario kart 7

  • ah, i did it! but the problem is that my 3ds conflics with my computer IP adress, so my 3ds cant connect to the internet

  • @TheAshSonic That problem can be solved if you add 10 points to the IP address on the 3DS, like i said in the video

  • @BaCkuPFDTos how do you go to the configuration page of your router, on Mozilia Firefox?

  • @BaCkuPFDTos and what can i do when my 3ds and pc got a conflict?

  • where do you find the "cmd"

  • @TheAshSonic If you have windows 7 you just click on start and write " cmd " at the bottom, if not it's usually on " C:\Windows\System32 "

  • @BaCkuPFDTos i use Windows XP, and dont worry, i already found it, but i cant open it as administrator. i went to my wirelessbox website, and i still cant work this out

  • @BaCkuPFDTos I did it and I'm getting a different error code (001-0502) HELP ME!!!!!

  • thanks a lot man i can race again!

  • yes, it works!! my problem was that i fixed the first connection instead of my second connection where i normally go online, the password for my router i found it online. DMZ i found it on basics

  • mine works again

  • i have a Thomson router and I simply don't know how to "Demilitarize" my 3DS on it :/ Does anyone have a Thomson router here?

  • @yoshiller64 You should do what is written on the end of this video

  • Instead of the consumers having to follow complicated steps to solve this problem, Nintendo ought to take responsibility.....and fix this problem....somehow....maybe a firmware update or a patch of some sort....?? I have lost a lot of VR due to this stupid issue....

  • @ST2008X yeah, i don't see why i have to do stuff that i don't really even know what i'm doing!!! if the product doesn't work then it is faulty!! its not what i paid for. i love mk7 but i should have a working copy!!

  • @singie1 I can undestand what you guys feel, i had these problems too... but you see.... people having problems with mario kart 7 are like 2000, those without problems are 5000000000000

Majority wins, and people are going to say " the problem is your connection, not the game " anyway.

For that reason, nintendo won't do a thing, maybe they don't even KNOW about the problem.

  • @BaCkuPFDTos So in the end you can do 2 things, search for solutions on the web like this video, or call nintendo support and follow their instructions, which basically should be the same as the video.

  • Dude, this worked, THANK YOU it was really annoying not having the ability to play online. Does this work for all the other online 3DS games too? because I got on SSF4 and RE:M after a few times of getting an error. Does this now connect everything instantly?

  • @soniik It should, now the DMZ gives the 3DS the possibility to send and receive much more data than before so yeah, i think, you should try.

  • @BaCkuPFDTos So far everything is working wayy faster on my 3DS and games log in almost instantly online. your a life saver!

  • @justsaying25 In your router configuration page, try searching for " advanced setup " or " nat " options, it should be near those

  • the system says its incorrect but it worked :D...i think

  • @ApertureScienceTS49 let's hope so!

  • Thank you very much for making this video.

Allthough it sadly didn't work for me, It's great you've fixed it up for so many people.

I've contacted Nintendo Customer Support... let's hope with enough complaints Nintendo can sort it out.. :/

  • @MrTobinian Pity that it's not solved for you! Yeah Nintendo should do somenthing since the people having these problems, judging from the video views/comments etc, seems to be A LOT

  • Comment removed

  • TY SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nope. still didn't work for me :( I did everything you said in the video and everything was fine but when I tried again I still had problems. thanks for your help anyway!

  • @TehGameKuub Have you tried turning on / off your 3DS / router / computer after that?

Apparently this doesn't work immediately but after 2-3 tries.

In it doesn't work even after that then is understandable, with all the different models of routers out there, there are surely some that needs more work to do or different options to check

  • @BaCkuPFDTos I turned off my laptop, my 3ds and my router for the night and tried again today but still have the same problems. I've tried so many times now I can't even count. I'm going to call Nintendo Support tomorrow (they're closed now) but if they can't help me then I don't know what I can do. :(

  • @TehGameKuub Pity! I hope nintendo will give you the right directions to solve your problem!

  • Thanks, love the Tales of the Abbys music. :D

  • @gogoku7 Ahah yeah, i bought it together with mario kart 7 for 3DS, even if i have to say that tales of symphonia is still my favourite tales of, abyss is pretty cool too!

  • I have my IP, but I type it in at the top in the URL box and it says that the link is broken?

  • Thank you! That fixed my problem.

  • thanks man! with a little improve it all worked out!

  • Sorry about this. i got stuck at the Router internet browser section. how do i find the Configuration page on Google Chrome? or windows explorer. and getting to the DMZ part is quite confusing...

  • i dont have my manual for my router.. its a siemens gigaset se567. anyone know how to get to the configuration page with this router?

  • I have done all what you put, but my 3ds wont connect to the internet after the tweaks.

  • puedes ponerlo en español porfavor? no se a quien mas recurrir !!!!! no entendi eso la pagina de mi router y el DMZ

  • @INTELIGENCIA89

Okay, with your help, I found the DMZ, but now, in the Thomson dropdown list of devices that you can assign to the DMZ, the 3DS isn't appearing! WTF MAN. Can anyone help?

  • @Sethwish You have to have your 3ds turned on, it should be named NintendoDS and in case you have other DS/3DS in your household you should change it's name to Nintendo3DS to set it appart. You need to have your 3DS turned ON on the main menu or anywhere else other than the System Settings with your wireless turned ON aswell. I've been messing with this all day but my problem isn't solved yet, I'm starting to get tired of trying. :(

  • I got a Thomson TG784 and I can't set up a DMZ because the option doesn't appear on the router settings. :| Help?

  • @INTELIGENCIA89

Yeah, I've got a Thomson too. They are such pieces of shit. Telstra's fucking useless hardware choices strike again.

Anyone got a solution for getting to the DMZ area of a Thomson router? It would be really much appreciated.

  • wait, on my 3ds, on the screen with myip, subnet mask, and gateway, it all says 000.000.000.000??

  • @suppabo Yes, you must go to your computer like the video says, get your ip, sub mask and gateway, and then put those values instead of the 000.000.000.000

  • ...BaCk, how do I find the configuration page of my router if i dont have the manual. I went to 192.168.1.1 in the URL and it asks me for a username and password..

  • @suppabo If you haven't changed it, the default username is " admin " and the default password is " admin ".

This is for all the routers so it should work.

  • @BaCkuPFDTos I guess my folks changed it.. because I'm putting admin for username and password, and it does nothing, it just makes the box disappear and reappear without the info in it. If I cancel, the website says 401 Unauthorized

Access to this resource is denied; your client has not supplied the correct authentication. shiiit what should I do :(

  • @suppabo I don't know, maybe reset?

There should be a button behind the router, called " reset " press it for like 3-5 seconds and it will reset the router settings, IT WILL ALSO DELETE the current configuration.

The reset button bring the router back like if you just bought it.

So be careful, but doing that should reset the passwords too, so admin should work, maybe.

  • what your mtu?

  • @BaCkuPFDTos what about on your router?

  • @BaCkuPFDTos tcp?

  • Comment removed

  • hey just a quick question, im pretty good with networking stuff, but not too advanced xD...

what is the significance of the DMZ ip address? i live with two other roomates that also have a 3ds, and i can only pick 1 ip for the DMZ...is there anything else i can do? thanks for the help!

  • @psychoplast I'm not an expert too, right now i'm trying to solve a problem with my xbox live, so annoying, btw the DMZ takes your 3DS ip and is able to send and recive more data to / from it.

That's basically why people are having problems, their connection don't send enough data for the races, mario kart 7 takes more data than the other games, that's why you might have all the other 3DS games to work online like street fighter but not mario kart 7

  • @BaCkuPFDTos but with the DMZ is able to support more data.

And to my knowledge you can only enter 1 ip address in the DMZ on the router settings, so if you and your friends wwant to play online you got to take turns and enter 1 ip address each time..... but like i said before i'm not an expert so i might, hopefully, be wrong, you should search on google.

  • @BaCkuPFDTos Maybe it's different from router to router, my digicom router has only one DMZ option, maybe others or new ones ( since mine is 3 years old now ) have the possibility to enter more.

  • Comment removed

  • Didn't work for me

  • @kylevonhelson Pity, have you tried shutting off / on everything? Computer, router, 3DS and even the wi-fi switch on the 3DS? After that and 2-3 tries it works

  • I've followed this fix to the letter and completed a full community Grand Prix without any problems. This is not conclusive proof that the fix has worked for me but the results seem promising thus far.

  • @Rey184 Good!

  • Thank you!!!

I can FINALLY play online yay!

  • didnt work for me :(

  • me pasa lo mismo tratare de seguir tus pasos aver que tal me va salu2...........

  • no m funciono =( m sige markando error de conexion =(

  • @cristiaka Even after you reset the router / 3DS / computer? Apparently this doesn't work immediately, but it's just fine after 2-3 tries

  • @BaCkuPFDTos did that work for you?

  • wow, it really works!

    muchas gracias!

Voglio vedere col Wii U xD
