Dam making bait in california is getting harder than ever now. (Making bait meens catching your own with net) I just cant stand those commercal fisherman next to my boat hauling in tons of makeral sardine and anchovies... pisses me off man i need that bait for bass, sculpin, halibut, tuna, yelllowtail, and the prized white sea bass. I know there is a vast ocean out there, and I enjoy fishing myself, but this just doesn't seem sustainable.

I'm convinced - the fishing industry does need to be regulated. As a sports fisherman, I've noticed a drop in the number of fish out there. I can't help but to think that these types of boats share some responsibility.

hey dude i said the same thing while i worked on that boat cuz we use to fish sardines for up to 4 months everyday loaded. last year the US made regulations so there is a quota now THANKS Fish and game cuz now i work way less n get paid better

As for sea harvesting, I thought harvesting was gathering something you had grown rather than netting wild stock by the million.

@EatTheWind Here in the US the government gives food stamps to people to purchase seafood. In NY anyhow. This provides the poor with a cleaner food source as opposed to industrial livestock. As for what the captain of the boat makes, do you realize the money it costs him to stay in business? The boat payment? So much overhead, yet you believe all he makes is cleared money?
