  • Thank you to all those involved who created this truly stunning film. My ultimate favorite. All Lynne Ramsey's work provides inspiration for my own film making. She is a directer who i aspire to be like...

I even have an the Ratcatcher DVD notes photocopied and up on my wall!

I hope that one day Lynne reads this, and some day in the future i can meet her...! she sounds like an amazing woman.

    Regards, Sage Butler (aus)

  • This is really a great film!

And it has great music too, which is composed by Rachel Portman.

  • can someone please tell me what the music is from this scene? all anyone has ever been able to tell me is it's carl orff but specifically which piece is it from? i've been looking all over and haven't been able to find it. thanks

  • verry nice GEWELDIG GEDAAN!!!

  • Even if I was not one of the cameramen on this film (I was!) I would have to say this is a great shot and directed film...

But i all way knew my friend and fellow film student... (Lynn Ramsey) was much brighter than most of the other National film & Tv School students, lol

    Best, Nick Barrett

  • As funny as it may seem, this is one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen in a movie. It completely offsets the sombre tone present in the rest of the film in bare simplicity. The orange sky and wheat seen through the window of a dark grey house provides a surreal portal from a world of grown up misery to a world of simple childlike happiness. Wonderfully thought out.

  • GREAT GREAT FILM

  • it's a beauty! Close to the truth 'o oan's formative years, ken what i am saying........

  • I saw this recently on The Auteurs free film festival and was blown away by this scene.

  • The best British film in the last decade! Nothing else comes close! Come back Lynn Ramsey, we need you to direct another film like this.

  • correct 100%

  • I agree! It's the best scene in the movie! The whole movie is incredible, but this scene captures it entirely.

  • a beautiful movie.

  • i LOVE this movie...where can i buy it?

  • You can watch it online on the criterion collection website and also order it from there, as well!

  • one of my favourite films of all times too.

  • I adore this scene.

  • Thanks for sharing this clip,a memorable scene , this film has really got under my skin, I can never get the ending out od mf mind, especially that haunting music......

  • Really brought back memories for my old man, who lived in Glasgow back in the 50s. Even though it was a different era, the lives of the kids resonated with him. Pretty powerful film for anyone who's grown up in tenements or estates in Scotland or Northern England.

  • This film is incredible, I wish someone on Youtube had footage of the ending.
