In our small village in 1976, our family was the only one with a CX. I was 8 years old, the CX gave me the feeling being a passenger of a luxurious spaceship.

My dad used to have a white CX Break, which I always used to think looked like it should be used by french Ghostbusters. I've been rather fond of the CX ever since. I'd get one, were it not for the memory of the problems dad had with leaking hydraulics. I think the garage that fixed it must have used the wrong fluid, as it left a trail of red/brown liquid behind it. Looked like it was bleeding.

Klasse Beitrag! Erinnert mich an die achtziger, hatte selbst mal einen CX 2000, CX 2,5 Diesel und einen CX Prestige, natürlich mit C-Matik die verreckte, aber ich habe es hinbekommen. Unter anderen noch zwei GS. Die Kisten waren einfach genial und geil!

desole je me suis trompe, la cx quand on ne l'a connait pas, on peut penser que c'est une voiture bizarre ,moche, non conventionelle....mais a force de l'observer , il se degage une certaine beautee ainsi que le style "typiquement citroen" et effectivement apres coup , je la trouve belle ...donc Citronen CX it's beautiful car ..thinks...bye..

@onekeypianoplayer Disagree.. Got 2 Cxs (GTI 2.4 and Prestige turbo 2) and 2 XMs (2.0i and 3.0 24V Exclusive Flight 2) and XM were FAR more pleasant cars to drive, despite their line which was not as pretty as CXs, but technically there was a world between those two cars..

One common point, though, both were as bad finished ..

@wlud Hey. Despite of everything you have got to remember that they are 15 years apart. And that amount of time means a lot of technological progress.

The fact remains that they are the giants of their era and probably one of the best handling cars if not the best in the class not to mention the comfort.

The facts that make these cars fantastic are, their lower price and maintenance costs and reliability , comfort and performance in higher end models. Simply You cannot run a 560SEL through rally(due to expense) but a proper CX can do it as an executive car.

Thank you Andy for this offered tribute to a beautiful car; one of car that only citroen can make.. and one of the rare french car who could follow the German car (bmw mercedes) on the highway of this time(period), and who can allowed to leave them behing when the rain was.

I guess I'm getting old!

Being younger I never understood or saw the benefits of these cars or Citroen at all! They where butt ugly and weird!

I even knew a guy who sold these up to some 6-7 years ago and had done so since the -70s. It all began when I some 10 years ago, tinkered wth a 2cv for a friend: ie strange, peculiar and amusing!

Have a Xantia now and even consider getting a XM!

Bitten by the bug I guess?

U get older, and then you get wiser... guess I'm old now. :)

Yout film is WUNDERBAR!!! It's remember me my childhood in a poor communist country (Romania), where such fine cars wher an impossible dream. And also the image o f a CX in my town, own by a foreign citizen working there, a car which was burning my imagination when it was on the street, in the early '80..The music is also very good for this french queen.

Ben moi g 26 ans et j'ai appris à conduire sur une CX pallas 2.5D de 1981 et j'en suis fier.

Quel confort, quel freinage et puis au moins on pouvait tapoter un peu la twingo de la mamie d'en face sans tout dézinguer :)

Fallait juste faire attention à pas lacher le volant dans un virage car la direction assistée renvoyait le volant très rapidement en position roue droite...

Sinon que du bonheur

très chouette , merci de donner une âme à cette voiture qui est la dernière vraie citroen et surtout une vraie voiture pas comme les merdes en plastique d'aujourd'hui , j'ai 28 ans , je possède une cx 25 trd turbo 2 rouge métal de 1989 exactement la même que la dernière qu'on voit sur la vidéo mais en triste état, malgrés tout je l'adore plus que mes autres voitures ! merci pour cette vidéo , la musique qui accompagne est sympa aussi !

we can try english, if that's better? (sorry, i don't speak any german) I have not found a citroen myself - not yet. I live in the USA now, and they are not very easy to find here. as far as meetings, my brother goes to a lot of them, mostly in the Czech lands. We missed rome 2008 :-(

but we did go to 13 ICCR in Interlaken in 2004. it was great!

Yes, English is okay! (No problem) Okay, in the U.S., it is really hard to find, which I think! From Interlaken, I have only seen pictures! We were with the CX, primarily in Westhofen (D), the CX year meeting! If I can afford me later, I purchased an older Citroen!

1978- CX Pallas (black)

1983- GS Special (baby-blue)

1985- GSA Pallas (metallic-green) and a GSA X3 (red) until 1993.

And guess what... They will be forever in my heart! I just can't understand what makes these cars so special and unforgettable... I miss them all. :(
