  • Did he cut his hand? Hehe.

  • sounds like arnie

  • This device is quite snappy! It seems to be much more responsive than the 3 newly announced Nokia smartphones.

  • @NAKAKATAKOTAKO I Have This, Its Awesome But I Gotta Get The N8 For It's Camera And A Few Other Features That Comes With It.

  • i appreciate if any one can tell me what movie format i must convert from pc to n900?

  • @bilalkaraneeb.

avi. u can download them from the internet u dont hv to convert them

  • is it always on landscape mode/??

  • @makismakismakiskill nope, you have to flip the phone. It has a G-sensor

  • الجوال هيل

  • am in love

  • Ele não é multi touch ?

  • I will get this kind of phone, once mobile internet is cheaper, better and playing online poker is possible. For now! mehhhh a phone is a phone.

  • it would be better with capative and amoled

  • is this phone worth is price been looking in to get one and was just wondering

  • yes the phone is awsone trust me!

  • @ Zw1d Yeah sure if u need a 10000000000% business phone go for it.

  • Looks thick...

  • The finger is twice as wide as each key on the keyboard. So can those qwerty keyboards on these phones actually be of much benefit?

  • Which is better the Iphone 3gs or the nokia n900?

  • htc hd2 :|

  • i've got one aswell.. but i had the wrong software i guess in half an hour it was stock..

  • Nokia produces highest quality phones(hardware and software) :)

not necessarily the best looking ones but they r really long lasting and thats what matters .

  • @thugnlive

I completely agree with you. When it comes to mobile phones, Nokia is still the most reliable company along with Sony Ericsson. The thing is Nokia is TRULY a cellular phone business, unlike Apple and other companies who only has the iPhone to engage with.

  • suomi on paras

  • which is the best, omnia pro b7610 or nokia n900?

  • Still cannt belive that even these iphone owners still claims that iphone is better. :S, how do you guys come to that comclusion?, everything specwise is better on n900 plus it runs on linux.

  • It is called iphone syndrome. Very similar to the stockholm syndrome.

  • @Finne1987

Either they are idiots who know nothing about cellular phones or are BIASED apple fanboys. Besides, any product Apple is involved in is not the best. Mac OS X is not the best operating system, iPods are not the best mp3 players, and the iPhone is not the best phone.

  • Totally agree.

  • Lol, no shieet? they why they compare everything outthere to iphone or mac os? which btw i used them and they are ridiculously kick ass

  • And you are impotent..

  • Is the phone capacitive touch or resistive?

  • resistive - i dont know what the diffidences is but it seems okay. :)

  • resistive

  • stunning phone!

    but i still prefer 3gs

  • I got mine yesterday and this phone beats and competition out there, I had N97, this phone made n97 look super slow and shitty.

  • man i have all the u u mentioned plus an inphone 3gs nd htc hero

    3gs is way better!!

  • You fool. Iphone is Iphgone now. The 3Gs seems like a toy compared to this. Finally a true open source Linux OS in a powerful phone.

-N900 will support usb HOST!, just like the n810, meaning you can plug in usb drives, hard drives, usb mice, etc. Any usb peripheral will work! A mouse for the love of Christ!

-The N900 will be upgradable to the next version of Maemo, Maemo 6.

You can load any variant of ARM linux, meaning you can load Ubuntu or _Android_ if you want.

    -Terminal w. root FFS! :)

  • man no offense

but 1 lakh apps and still growing beats any other ohone on the market as of now.

  • does it have a tilting screen where by if your looking at your main menu upright and you tilt the phone the info will go landscape?

  • no i dosnt have a tlting screen

  • Yes, it has a gyro sensor.

Haven't seen much of demo on that though - guess it's considered an old trick, and nothing special to show the audience.

  • Bloody awesome.. That was one simple and convincing ( information filled) review.. was stunned by how the analyst could be spot on without talking crap

  • Can't wait to get mine this week! :D

  • so, did you get it?^^

i see you're from netherland... i'm from germany, and none the main retailers here still cant tell me when they'll be able to deliver.

  • 19th dec I was promised mine. Sweden. They sold out in two days! :)

  • Very classy!

  • This looks like a really good device. I love the way they have implemented the dashboard, real simple. Click one button and see all the applications you have open, what could be more simple. The UI looks completely finger friendly, cannot wait to give it a go.

  • nice

  • this phone is nicer than nice

  • Can you stupid apple fanboys stop spreading your iGarbage?

  • It would just be soo cool if I could have that phone in my hand right now, using it, i'll keep dreaming :P

  • It's not really a phone. It's a pocket PC, but you can also use it as a phone!

  • nokia has sold most mobile phones in the world, so if they suck it's almost only you that think so

  • Bla bla bla. Nokia is basically the McDonald's of mobile industry. They quality is bad, but it is cheap and very popular. Nokia was good at the times there were no concurrents.

  • Nokia have rolled out a few bad phones in the past but most of the problems have been software based.

Nokia N900 is looking like tis going to be an amazing phone. Great spec, great OS.

  • Well maybe it is going to be an amazing phone, it will not make me feel bad at all. I am not biased agains it, and have used a lot of Nokia phones before. My last Nokia phone was 9300, actually after the first one broke, I bought the second one, I loved it so much. It helped with my business stuff. My friend gave me an iPhone 3G as a present almost the day it came out, and I was amazed by it. Ever since almost every phone I hold in my hands except the iPhone disgusts me ;)

  • Look at your iSheep. Imagine it having a better camera with a flash. Better resolution screen. Better video playback, real keyboard, open sourced os, full flash browsing, better 3D graphics, FM transmitter, stereo loudspeakers, removeable battery, true multitasking, up to 48GB storage and then imagine it being nearly half the price - that's the N900. God, I should take up marketing.

  • Maybe you should, but - Better video playback? iPhone is a leader in video playback. Better 3D graphics? iPhone again. Stereo loudspeaker? I am pretty happy with my earphones. Removable battery? No, thanks, had one in Nokia, and dont need this at all. "Real" keybord? Hell no! 48 gb? 32 is goddamn enough. I've had like 7 Nokia phones, and after using the iPhone, Symbian makes me throw up. Maybe Maemo won't, but I am more than happy with my device.

  • Now let's turn this around. Imagine your phone would have games published by giants like EA, and apps published by giants like Oracle. Imagine your phone having multitouch. Imagine your phone's software being updated regulary. Imagine your phone fishing-free, virus-free. Imagine your phone would have open GL, open CL, shaders. Imagine your phone would have decent online gaming. iPhone has it all.

  • Sunshine, do some research - N900 has Open GL, with shaders. Maemo is virus free. EA has published games for Nokia for years. N900 will have an autoupdate feature that iSheep can't compete with. It has better video playback because it supports way more formats at a better resolution. 3D graphics are better because iSheep's resolution is 480x320 whilst N900 is 800x480. But you're right-stick with your iSheep-N900 is way too complicated for kids....

  • If 29 years is a kid for you... Don't speak to me then, speaking with kids will most likely affect your self esteem. I know EA has published games for Nokia, but compare the quality. 3D graphics are mostly important in games, and games in Nokia are disgusting. I agree that iPhone is less complicated than Nokia, but is that a disadvantage? It makes it much more usable.

  • The last thing I would buy a smartphone for (especially if I were 29) would be gaming. But if it's that important, check out the capabilities of the N900 on Bounce (A free game-iSheep doesn't come preloaded with a free game). 800X480 3D Graphics, with shading. Also check out free developments like Quake 3 multiplaying via TV out, and SNES emulation with control via a Wiimote over bluetooth, and countless others before release! All that is impossible on the iSheep. How's that iFart game?

  • Gaming is not prior to me. I am a businessman, and own a company, and the most important thing for me is how my phone handles e-mail. iPhone does this for me just fine. I've had bounce on my Nokia phone, never played it. Quake? I can name a couple of games that Nokia can't compete with, like FIFA 10 (i know you have some kind of FIFA, but it's crappy), FAST, and DOOM, and a lot more. And App Store prices are low compared to Ovi.

  • Oh, and, the last thing I would do if i was 42, is acting like a kid and calling iPhone an iSheep, Motorola Craporola etc.

  • I, and others, call it an iSheep, because the Apple lovers blindly believe the hype created by Apple. Your comments support this. App prices low? All the games I mentioned are free, supplied by developers, which shows how handy having an open sourced OS is. Apple has to approve all apps, then takes 30% from the developer. The only place to download it is via Apple. Again, check out "bounce N900" here on youtube-it is nothing like what you know on your old Nokia. Anything the iSheep can handle...

  • ...(cont) the N900 can handle at higher resolutions. Quake is graphically years ahead of Doom - again, look at some N900 vids here, and you'll see the difference. If you need a email friendly device, the N900 again wins hands down. iSheep is a fine device, no doubt, but as always technology advances and the N900 is currently better in most departments, and as I said ; Apple are charging a fortune for a phone that can't multitask, whilst this will be almost half the price unlocked. No contest.

  • Finally-as a businessman with your own company, imagine;a client calls you,he asks for a quote for your product.Put him on loudspeaker,(quickly turning your tv down with the infrared port on the N900)then launch your browser.Check your inventory online, then launch your calculator, work out the cost, and then launch your email client and tell your warehouse to ship your product to your client, all the time staying on the line to the client. There's not an app for that, as iSheep can't multitask.

  • (cont) For example, i want to know how my favourite football (soccer) plays at the moment - an app notifies me of goals scored, substitutions made, etc. with push notifications. The same with breaking news. I want to read Eurosport - I have an app for that. I want to have a full-fledged TomTom - I have it. I want to monitor my car security system, and even start the car from any distance with my phone (to heat it up in winter) - I can. I can continue, but it's pointless. Cheers.

  • Ok, let's stop discussing games, we won't come to an agreement here anyways. The last thing I can say is that there are more than 100000 apps and games in AppStore. CPU, RAM and processor are the same on both devices. Multitouch became a huge part of using my phone, and if Nokia doesn't have it, I won't buy it. It comes down to preference. For me, it's simplicity and usability, and ability to handle daily tasks. I have apps on my iPhone that Nokia won't replace.

  • Seriously-from the 100000 apps you mention, how many are worth the time of day? Maybe 150. And although the 3GS has 256MB RAM, N900 has up to 1GB swappable. The thing that puzzles me about iPhone is that things like facebook, twitter, have to be opened and closed one by one to check for udates, whilst even on a flawed N97, updates to all these are pushed in real time on the homescreen. That's usability. Apple knows all about multitasking, so why did they cripple it on the iphone?

  • Actually, you are wrong here. There is an app that pushes Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace updates.

  • But, the Iphone is for Sheep, technically speaking he is correct. Only the masses of brainwashed folk will purchase the iphone, the intelligent and advanced will buy something to cater to thier needs: EG: N900.

Seriouslly, just face it and move on, the iphone is yesterday's technology and it is very much playing catch up now. There are many proper smartphones that are more advanced and powerful than Apple's phone. You've had yor 15 minutes of fame, just roll over and give up, Apple.

  • @ihatemadrid lol you seem to be so blinded about how shiny and so technologically advanced apple is but as the others who aren't blinded by apple's hype has said, apple is actually the one who is catching up. In terms of overall specifications other cellphone companies are way beyond apple. You retardedly defend your precious iphone but the fact is its fast becoming an obselete device. A device catered for hipsters who "think" that apple is like a god company. You probably would buy an ipad lol.

  • it's definitely way better than any other phone including gayphone oops iphone!!! lol

  • Wow! You are so funny oops retarded!

  • Can't really call it a phone, and this thing seems to be a hell of a gud toy!

  • Hey guys, we are making a community for "Maemo Nokia N900". And the best place to be a part of it is at "maemo-nokian900(.)com" .... Do sign up.. and lets make this thing big

    Great Video... Good insight...

World Wide releases In OCT... that's what they have said.

  • NOKIA still the BEST brand for MOBILE. ^^

    i love this phone. ^^

  • its like a pocket sized computer literally.

i think it should be called the worlds smallest laptop/computer

  • Cool, the OS looks really fast.

  • Hell yeah the os is fast its linux.

  • is this on t mobile

  • So can we use hotmail with the IM?

  • this is better than iphone 3gs way better i got it on contract fuck u iphone users hahahah

  • where did you get it from?

  • I WANT THIS PHONE!!! Well I really want $589 so I can buy this phone lol

  • THis so beats the hell out of the N97...DOes any1 know how much its retailng>???

'''crosses fingers hoping its not TOO expensive""

  • Amazon is listing it at $589, Nokia is listing it at $649 I believe and eXpansys is listing it at $689.

  • why is it so much cheaper on Amazon?

  • wish I could tell you.

  • I'm serious this phone does look better than the 3GS

  • Really nice phone! I will replace my iPhone I think!

  • Just pre-ordered this today direct from Nokia. They have a pre-order promotion going on where when you order the N900 they give you a Nokia BH-703 bluetooth headset free. Everything about this phone looks great with the only exception being that it doesn't support MMS....yet

  • damn this phone is sick nice video 5/5

  • Did Borat leave phone arena?

  • Went back to his acting career maybe

  • Is it easy to work on this phone? I mean, does the mobile react fastly after a touch? I hope you guys know what I mean.

  • Ultrafingsonic!!!!

  • what service provider is this going to to be for, verizon, t-mobile, at

&t, or sprint or is it just NOKIA

  • nokia n900 will have t-mobile channels so you can use there 3G, but you can use at&t bit no 3G.

  • I really want this phone. Too bad it's going to be so expensive, but I want it now

  • how its that fast? why my N97 isnt that fast? because of RAM, CPU, OS? i hate it. N97 is laggy, freezing, slow.

  • I had N97 but I just sold it today and I preorder N900 and I know N97 is not fast also the multitasking isnt good enough most of time close it by self cuz the RAM isnt enough but N900 have 1GB or RAM~ thats why Im getting that

  • 256 MB RAM and 768 MB ROM

  • HEAVY!!!!!

  • Geez... This looks amazing. Easily blows the doors off that silly Iphone 3GS. MUUUUch more advanced software..

  • 0:36

    Ovi by Nokia IM ??

    never heard of that ?

Is going to be the same is blackberry messenger ?

  • Does this thing have a crappy resistive screen? My nokia n97 sucked, i had to use my fingernail all the time. Looks like they are using index fingernails more than thumbs to navigate which is not very fun and slows the experience down.

  • obviously looks better just by looking at it!!!!....n97 is not even close when it comes to responsiveness....waaayyy better...even the games look stunning just like the iphone.....i thought n97 was good until i saw this....hoooooorayy MAEMO!!!

  • Maemo 5 looks great!!

  • I knew that this device is going to be great since the first announcements months ago. I'm still very happy with my Iphone 3GS, but If I would be more into social networks and write more messages and e-mails, this would be my weapon of choice.

  • I hope nokia will create an ATT/Rogers variant. This is the coolest phone ah PC ever! all in one device finally...

  • T mobile here i come,,im so glad im not in contract with att, haha

  • What is the name of the OS ?it is Not symbian any more ?

  • Maemo 5

  • Now i have gained my faith back in nokia. I hate the N97. It was to sluggish. This device looks promising because of the cellular connectivity. I would honestly get one.

  • what is up with the space bar it should be in da middle not the right side

  • the n97 has it on the side too and tbh its not as big of a deal as people make out. You get used to it. After a few tries you'll notice its actually in a very logical place with regards to easy access with your right thumb.

  • That hand haven't seen water in days this guy is nasty

  • So you are interested in his hand too? This clip is a phone preview.......Some of you guys are so weired.

  • hahah,..lol!!!

  • will it be on t mobile in the uk and can u get skyfire on it

  • Comment removed

  • Idk if skyfire has compiled a version that runs on mameo but the browser is based on Mozzila code. Fennec (mobile firefox) was not ready for prime time so Nokia created their own. They have said that once that is ready you can install it without any problems. + its supports flash 9.4 out of the box.

  • how about the battery, how long it could stand out

  • 1500 MaH

  • the n900 has a 1320mAH not 1500. You may have it confused with the n800 or one of nokia's other devices. I wonder why they went with the lower capacity considering the e52 at 9mm thick uses the 1500!

  • My Mistake.

That Was A Good Question That You Raised. Why Did Nokia Do That With The Battery?

  • Hopefully the battery will be much better than my iphone3gs. I hate to running out of battery in 4 hours after charging it to 100%.

  • @lib: No idea :).

@ dodo: Since it has not been tested in real world conditions its impossible for anyone to compare it to other phones in the market. Having said that it would not surprise me if the battery performance is better than the iphone and android phones (given nokia's and mameo's track records). Guess we'll find out in October :)

  • Oooh, you can even use it when your hand is smashed up.

  • This is brilliant. The only things wrong with it are the lack of buttons on the face, which I prefer having, and the fact that it doesn't support portrait view in anything except a phone call. A 4 row keyboard would've been nicer as well. Still, this is a very powerful device. I wish AT&T would pick this up LOL.

  • It does support portrait view in other programs as well. The program running must just be programmed to take advantage of it. One such program is Fennec (Mozilla) which is due to be released in a couple of months. That utilizes both land scape and prtrait view.

  • omfgg. *orgasmsss*

  • me and my homeboi be doin that !!! when we saw the MyTouch 3G we was like ahhh ORGASM!! lmao.

  • great OS + good processing power = amazing device

  • Oh man! I can't wait to get my own n900. Best demo so far.

  • i would loe one of these

  • couldn't help but notice the bandage on his hand. almost looks like he had a splint on the last two fingers. a popular injury for inexperienced fighters.

  • nice observation!

  • the maemo 5 pwns !!!!

  • n97 should look like this..

  • this is my friend, the best martphone on the planet we have today

  • The software looks absolutely awesome. Hardware not so much. Screen looks good 3.5" is a nice size.

The keyboard however is 3 row with keys in strange places (namely spacebar). There is also a lot of space around the screen make the phone look huge and bulky, unsure of thickness but probably thick and heavy.

Currently running HTC Touch Pro2 (unbranded) btw.

  • Oh my, is that a bandage or some avant garde fashion?

  • what screen size?

  • 3.5 inch. Almost as big as my TP2

  • Comment removed

  • It does, more space around the screen.

  • looks cool! i like the full flash and websites (maybe mafia wars on the move :P), and the universal status on the im (advantage of linux over symbian)!

  • Yes i can run full facebook applications on the old N810 Maemo 4 device. I'm sure this more powerful device will have no problems with it

  • Looks like good stuff right there..

  • can anyone tell full specs of the CPU it's using?

  • search for it yourself? (takes 2 sec with google)

  • First! Looks great. I'm glad that Nokia is expanding their OS.
