The reason why the sub doesn't have much excursion is because the voice coil is only 1.75 inch very small in diameter as well. But even so, kickers are always still loud
l7's arent junk, its the way you had it set up, the amp prob made it sound like shit, then the box you had it in wasnt big enuogh to be ported for that sub, that sub calls for 6.5 cubic ft. ported to sound worth a shit, and theres no way that box you had was even 4 haha

Not everyone is planning to compete in competitions like DB drag or other shows. They just want something that they can bump to that's sounds nice to them. @joelcolson1994 no, the comps do not have the rms power or quality to keep up with a 15 L7. and 2 12's are not even pushing more air than the L7 since the difference in surface area is less than two square inches. save up for some L7's or just one. but if you're looking for a budges system, then comps are just fine.

It can be musical, if you have a good amp (Steg K-series or Hifonics colossus or somethin like this) but the bxi 1600 from the vid is shit, the control is very bad. If you have a good box, maybe closed and a good amp, the woofer can sounds very good. (sorry for my bad english)
build your own box next time, or pay someone to make you one for your sub. my biggest mistake was buying a pre-made box, also my first system, but have now learned my lesson and have my 18" DD in my own custom 12 cubic foot rear loading air horn box. now that bangs.
the fuked up thing about a ported box is the peak isnt the loudest at the tuning port. n the steep rolloff is 24. daz messed up. n i think the reason why a ported box has peaks like over the tuning port is cus the steep rolloff. maybe if it was so steep it would have a peak tuning frequency. but its hard to do that cus the ported box would roll off even steeper if it was at the tuning. it would be way too sharp. so its above it.

its not your camera bro, its def the amp. i can tell that its not flexin as much as it should be. hifonic makes cheap crapy amps. if u had a zx1500 it would be flexin a tons more. even a zx1000 amp will do the trick.
@FYGblood well it depends if your going dual or single.. if u get dual 12" L7 then get the zx1500. if 12" single L7 get zx750. if your get a single 15" L7 then the zx1500 would make it flex the best. if your going dual 15" L7 then i would even recomend the zx2500, just to be safe. if you dont want to spend that much then the zx1500 may do the trick for two 15's...
@FYGblood well thier is an extremely nice box on ebay thats tuned to 32hz for the L7.. 32hz is prob best for it. type in "kicker l7 15 box" and its the first one. its 150 for the box but its extremely nice. if u get that with a refurbished sub and refurbished amp it will prob be less than $581

on the sub its self it says L5 not L7 but title says L7
my L% is 1500 watt and L7 is 2000watt i have both and they do say different marks slowed the vid down and it 100% states L5

i got the same set up, 15 l7 with the hifonic 1606, 1000 rms sub, 1600 rms amp, in a ported box, once i got my shit tuned right it hits so hard, i cant see straight when im driving cause my eyes vibrate. its awesome!

its not your camera bro, its def the amp. i can tell that its not flexin as much as it should be. hifonic makes cheap crapy amps. if u had a zx1500 it would be flexin a tons more. even a zx1000 amp will do the trick.

@FYGblood well it depends if your going dual or single.. if u get dual 12" L7 then get the zx1500. if 12" single L7 get zx750. if your get a single 15" L7 then the zx1500 would make it flex the best. if your going dual 15" L7 then i would even recomend the zx2500, just to be safe. if you dont want to spend that much then the zx1500 may do the trick for two 15's...

@FYGblood well thier is an extremely nice box on ebay thats tuned to 32hz for the L7.. 32hz is prob best for it. type in "kicker l7 15 box" and its the first one. its 150 for the box but its extremely nice. if u get that with a refurbished sub and refurbished amp it will prob be less than $581

@FYGblood actually i looked it up on ebay and the refrubished sub was $250, the amp was $290 and that box is $150, so its $690... but i think the one you found is all refurbished. most stuff from hifisoundconnection is.. thats were i bought my 2 kicker l7 12" refrubished for $190 a piece. so that deal you were looking at is pretty damn good
