  • Hmm, this dancing is very similar to the circle dances that were created in the balkans.

There must be a lot of eastern european jews...

  • Dear Ira,

I'm Indonesian living in Germany and interested in learning Israelis Fold Dances like the one you taught in here only that I have no idea of where to find if there's any DVD for beginners so that I can learn it at home.

Thank you so much for sharing this dance,

  • Dear Ira

I picked up your Boi Malka choreography on YouTube and would love to teach it to my Dancing Divas classes in South Africa. And also to add, I am not that fond of line dancing (dancing or teaching it) but your choreographies are a pleasure to watch and teach. So I have incorporated your Cumbia Semana in my classes - it has proved to be an absolute favourite with just about everyone.

    All the best

  • YEAH! I'm Jewish. This is cool. But I gotta say that the Hora is better. (Even though it's for Hanukkah.)

  • We just did it today. It is really a great dance.

  • JESHUA DICE:

YO SOY EL CAMINO, LA VERDAD Y LA VIDA.

JESÚS ES EL CAMINO AL PADRE

OH ISRAEL, JEHOVA NUESTRO DIOS UNO ES, bendiciones

  • Am Yisrael Chai!

You are all beautiful, people of Israel.

G-d bless you, and the whole world with peace.

  • Yo Schmucks:

Judaism existed 2000 years before your crazy camel riding mohamed'l was born.

Worship Allah, for that is good, but the Jews fairly and squarly own the land of Israel - it even says so in your Qoran. Stop listening to the drivel of your moron modern day leaders and go back to the original sources.

Dont be greedy, let the Jews have the 0.01% of land in the world that is actually theirs you sorry schmucks.

  • Ira is truly one of the most creative choreographers....the steps he chooses just fit the songs so well. It is a pleasure and an honor to do his dances.

  • israeli folk!!! come on, israel is only 60 years old and it is an occupation of the Palestinian land and the Palestinians are still fighting for their lands and still in the refugee camps waiting to go back to their homes.

y dont u make ur self a favor and stay in europ and the usa and leave the palestinians alone

    folk!!! pleeeease

  • get over yourself. israel rightfully earned their place when they defeated palestine in the 6 day war. And Israel is continuously asking for peace, while Palestine refuses. They have just as much a right to have a culture and home than any other population.

  • @Jenny135791 Israel did not defeat Palestine, because Palestine did not exist in 1967.

  • @Jenny135791

WRONG ISRAEL KEEPS DOING THE KILLS IN PALESTINE , NO RIGHTFULL RIGHT IN IT , i mean you only passed through the land and palestinians were kind enough to take you in and later YOU ISRAELIS BETRAY THEM !!! what kind of sick ppl are you ??? yes they were defeated because britiain was taken over by you, freaks

  • @esmaelooo

Talking with fking zionist fools or fking retards that have no feeling for actual human rights in order to accomplish their goals.is a waste of time allthough i do respect that your trying to lecture the retards/master of manipulation

  • @ImplosionNL

yeah ,, i made such somments for the people who would read the comment page and check them out .. though i thank u for ur sarcastic complement .

  • @Jenny135791

    rightfull right?

    you are a ignorant fool.

  • The Jews were in this land a thousand years before Islam was ever thought of! Jordan is Palistianian, go back there and to Arabia where you originated from. Israelis have regained what they had before Islam and other groups invaded!!!

  • Nice dancing.

  • @emilupland

u just said originated .. how about canaanites were the orginal ppl not jews cause there were no jews huh ?!

plaestinians are those ppl .. and 95 % of now adays jews are originated from europe

so ,, U GO BACK WHERE U ORIGINATED FROM !

  • What is this song about? Can we have a translation?

  • it was the Roman emperor Hadrian in AD 130 who labeled Palaestina. There has NEVER been a land called Palestine. The people known as Palestinians came to Israel when they were displaced in the war of 1948 that the Arab nations started. Before 1948 these Palestinians lived in Egypt, Syria and Iraq. There is NO history of them before 1948, there is no Palestinian language. Referring to Israel as "occupying territory " is just propoganda. This land has never belonged to these "Palestinians"

  • Sou apaixonada pelas danças Israelitas...Seria uma grande bênção do Senhor se eu pudesse participar de um ensaio deste...Parabéns...

  • Thank you for your nice comment. My friend Roger Weiger (originally from Rio De Janeiro) translated your comment:

I love Israeli Dance! It would be a blessing from God to be able to be part of a class like this! Congratulations!

  • I LOVE the Yeminite dancing style. it is alot of fun.

  • It's ok. Circassian dance is better.

  • That looks really fun.

  • Why would folk dance have to be more than 60 yours old? One of the nice things about Israeli Folkdance is that it is contemporary. But the dances are still made much in the same way, so it is still Folkdance.

Also quite a few of the Israeli folkdances originated from before Israel was formed. The Jewish traditions are older than Israel. You can also see that in the older Israeli folkdances there are influences from all diffrent parts of the world. From Spain, Russia, Yemen, to name a few.

  • Folk means people. Israelis (from Israel) are a people conformed of MOSTLY jews from many different ethnic and country origins. You have from african Israelis, European ones and lately a lot of LATIN ones (from Argentina, México, Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela). Israeli folk is probably the most dynamic folk dance in the world because it blends in all these others. Now, if you talk about biblical Israel (the people, not just the land), the dances are up to around 3800 years old. Old enough for ya?

  • Oh yeah, but, what about all the history? have you read about David, the King, he used to dance, and sure you think he was into waltz or hip hop.

  • Comment removed

  • Israel wasn't "invented" 60 years ago.

Israel. around 3800 years of history

  • @elpeofatal

NO, it was INVENTED 60 years ago , palestine existed 5000 years ago, do you deny canaanites , phoenicians existins in that land ?? you have no right in it and you will be prooven wrong , because YOU ARE WRONG

  • To see young teen Israeli girls and boys perform the hora at the Rehovot 60 Yom haAtzmaut festival in a video here is a pleasure. They do not need lessons. They are probable part of an arts school in Rehovot. Look for the yellow dresses.

  • Ich liebe diesen Tanz, wunderschön!

  • How funny Zjanies. I just learned it too from my folkdance teacher in The Netherlands too. I love the dance. I see I give it a little bit more hip then it suppose to have. XD

  • There is nothing wrong with hips. I am a latin dancer and an Israeli dancer. OS I do hips and arms and all that and I think hey as long as you do the steps right you can add a little hip here and there

  • this took place in my local JCC. ahahahahaha

  • Great video! Shalom.

  • please keep putting these videos on, for those of us who love Israeli dance, thanks.

  • how funny, i just learned this dance from my dancetheacher in holland! it's one of my favourites...

  • kuku isreal^^:P

  • I am hooked! I got to get into this again!

  • Heh, I think I saw this guy back in late '95.
