i used to do this kind of dance when i was younger in edinburgh, but the troupe split around 12 years ago! we never used to do comps though, only shows and stuff, because there were no comps around here... i now do baton twirling and love it! but well done girls you are brill :D
was this your routine for the 2008 season and id just like to say i am a lad and i have danced for 5 years and have currently joined a new troupe called bidduph inspirations and i quite enjoyed your routine. which association do you dance under mciap manecco etc .? p.s my names is Dan lol x
Its full name is "acrobatic entertaining" and it's a derivative of stage dancing combined with 'tableaus', climb-ons, pyramids, etlc. The main areas of expertise are Oldham, Stoke on Trent, Chester and parts of the Wirral. There used to be an outpost in Telford but I think there are no troupes from there any more. It's been around since at least the late 1930's.
Is this supposed to be morris dancing ? cause you got morris dresses on :s and I dont think its a northern thing cause I live in the North West and dance all over Liverpool areas and I've never seen it :s
this is troupe dancing im not ntoo sure if its just a northern thing cos it just seems to be the north west of england ie manchester / liverpool and its only girls
