  • God bless you Emmylou

  • Seeeeeexy chic- damn

  • she's the best!!!

  • I fell in love with this woman in the 70s !!!

  • @brilona1 Yup ~ I suspect most of us fell in love with ELH the very first time we laid eyes on her, or heard her sing. My own life was very busy throughout the 1970s, but I always kept telling myself, "as soon as things slow down some, I'm gonna chase that Emmylou gal". Well, now I have more time, and she's become too rich/famous/beautiful to ever be bothered with me. It's sad enough to write a good Country song about.

  • This song stirs my memories!!Love it! Thx for posting!

  • Glen D. Hardin on piano. He was Elvis's piano player.

  • Who is the pianist? unfucking believable.

  • This is MUSIC....

  • What an amazing voice...Nice video of Emmylou's greatest years: thanks!

  • What's that squeaking sound, oh, it's her voice. Not the best but each has opinion.

  • ....14....I am going to set kenjackson1977s' mom on you .....See Kris K. Beat the Devil .

  • 14 dislikes? Thats 14 peeps I never hope to meet... cuz most likely we have NOTHING in common!

  • Gorgeous, in every way!

  • God she is beautiful in every way possible.

  • Poor ol' Rodney Crowell..... he must have felt like a moth circling a flame.

  • Just angelic...angelic. Emmylou has always been the very best of the best and anything she has ever done is incredible.

  • I would not even think about it--I would be gone!

  • I would not even think about it--I wold be gone!

  • Sheer genius.

This is as good if not better than any classical opera.

    Its in English too!

  • WWWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWW!

  • is that Bernie Leadon playing steel?

  • No comments - beautiful

    who played the steel ?

  • @Cream1959 Hank DeVito on steel...........

  • super emilu haris

  • I 1st heard of Emmy Lou Harris when a friend lent me his record of Grevious Angel ,way back in 1977. I have never waivered in my love for her since that day. Emmy Lou you will always be in my heart. You become more beautiful and your voice becomes more angelica as time passes.

  • If only my late wife and I had heard this I guess we were some place else .This has to be the best ,hold each other gentle and step easy .song in the world .

  • i like eddie's version better hehehe

  • Thank you for the information.

  • other than my wife,Emmy is the most beautiful lady i have ever laid my eyes upon, pure natural beauty and a real lady with a great voice

  • Wonderful musician brings me back in time and what a great time that was

  • Well, she's nailed every song she ever sang. My girl loves her......she has a great voice.

  • yeah, right......

  • I would not think about--I would go in a New York Second!

  • Update!!! I saw a recent clip of Emmy in a red dress singing at some new awards show or something. OH Emmy Emmy Emmy! What happened? I'm sorry but it's over! I will always love your music though and dream of what could have been had you found me in the 80's.

  • I'm curious why there is a decoration of a man kicking a cross behind her? WWJD

  • @aimeecurry46 good question. i dont know the answer. looks odd though.

  • @aimeecurry46 He's actually kicking a star. It's the logo for "The Old Grey Whistle Test." TV program broadcast by BBC. This performance is an Old Grey Whistle Test performance.

  • i'd hit it

  • @icyhotonmynuts

Maybe in your dreams with a kleenex in your hand......

  • @rubbersole79 I'm talking about the beat you sicko. It's so mellow and chill. Grow up you sick freak

  • everything she does is true perfection, whether she tries to or not.there never again will be such beauty as she,in looks vioce and all she does.i thank you and applaude you emmylou harris!x

  • amazing voice...

this is awesome, her face...she looks like my girlfriend's sister! Unbelieveble!

  • I wish I could marry her when she was twenty-five years old! such a beautiful voice, such a beautiful face! and she managed to grow old very smoothly!

  • wow... everything about this, just wow

  • Voice!! Emmylou, Kathie Baillie, Suzy Boggus, and Alison Krauss. They have control, timing, diction, phrasing.... all total, a thing called talent. And oh yeah.. Emmylou is the kind of woman that if your wife caught you out with her... she'd be proud!

  • could Taylor Swift hold the lite for this real country star

  • I have warned my wife that if Emmy ever showed up at my door and asked me to run away with her, I would tell her no, but I would take a long time to think about it first.

  • @stillshakydave Whatever you decide to do - good luck. Just remember it is the things we didn't do in our lives that we regret. more than the things we do. Just a thought.

  • @TheLimberlostGirl You are so right! Although it is a running joke with my wife who knows I have a crush on Emmy, I have tried to live my life grabbing those instances that many people hesitate too long, and lose, sometimes to fame, others to ruin, but never to regret. Thank you for the kind wishes. I wrote a book about one thing I did do in my life. You can read it on line by typing in any search engine. "When Pride Was Not an option" by David Turner

  • @stillshakydave

To hell with it--just run with her!

  • @stillshakydave

She gets as she gets olderas she even more gorgeous

  • @stillshakydave If she showed up at my door and asked me to run away with her, I'd be a gone S.O.B.

  • @stillshakydave hey if emmu ever shows up, it is because you wife put you on a hit list

  • @stillshakydave hey if emmy ever shows up, it is because you wife put you on a hit list

  • @stillshakydave My wife already knows I'm outta there. But it's OK she loves EMLH, too.

  • @stillshakydave what's to think about...?

  • @stillshakydave

LOL Well you must really have some great wife, because my response would have been"Honey have you seen my luggage??"

  • she is beautiful,, even still in her 60's she looks young

  • @ikambor I totally agree and she has such a crystal clear voice that never changes ever with age

  • Oh man I just love this!

  • I just love her voice

  • the best, perfect.........

  • Sigh! I've been hooked on ELH since the 1960s. I don't know if she has a 'favorite' song, but she sings this one and 'Making Believe' as if they are from her own soul. Each time I see her ~ young or grey ~ I want to hold her and dance with her and kiss her.

She does so many really good songs really well, and she can harmonize perfectly with ANYone. THANK YOU, God, for sending us this angel-voiced beauty in my lifetime. One of my life's truest pleasures.

Haha ~ and she thanks US at the end!?

  • absolutely beautiful. thanks for posting!

  • always loved Emmylou, what a voice!

  • Sweet Bliss !

  • I was in the movie Honeysuckle Rose. I met her and thought she was a natural beauty then and as she as aged she is just as beautiful.

I can't believe that anyone would think that anyone would think that Emmylou was anything but natural..

  • my mame is sharon cole ive been listing to your songs for years i was raised on country music i love it

  • Lonewolf love's Whitedove, forever and a day! your Sister's Voice coming in clear...Smile!

  • Emmylou: I an old man now, but I have been listening to your music for years.

Everytime I hear your songs, I feel like I am going to have a heart attack.

I cannot think of a single female singer, who could be mention in the same breath.

Thank your for the lovely music throughout the years!

  • Who you are passionate about country music and have not heard this beautiful song would have to throw a good river and forget about that man forever. Jose

  • This is music.

  • This is the best version ever of this song, in a separate universe from all others. What a voice and what delivery!

  • @Johnnydoxx.... No, sorry, Buck Owens does it best.

  • @MrJeffnow Sorry Man ,no disrespect to Buck, but this gal outdoes all others on this song!!!!!

Buck has done cartwheels where he lays, when he hears her!!!!!

  • @Johnnydoxx I don't know, Harris fades her voice away sub-audible, here-and-there, while Sarah Jory sustains her's, . . .

  • @Johnnydoxx Is this better than Buck Owens' version?

  • @titostacos I guess it's in the ear of the beholder, all opinions are honored by me.

  • Great posting.

    Beautifully done Emmylou.

  • she is was and forever a babe

  • If you think back to 1977 you will realise that she didn't need plastic surgery then. She was only about 30 - what a beauty. I saw her in Belfast - in 1974 - it's hard to remember with all the bombs and suchlike flying about. Suffice to say that Emmylou did not allow all that to stop her coming to perform for us which was practically unknown ( as most performers wouldn't touch NI with a barge-pole)

We don't forget that, as they could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

    Thanks Emmylou

  • super good thanks !

  • Emmylou is naturally beautiful in this.

  • @ ShanaMarie75...try the Mark Lanegan version. You can find it on Youtube. Best I've heard.

  • I have been a Buck Owens fan for many years, and an Emmy Lou fan a long long time. Buck did a fine job of this song, but Emmy Lous version is much better. Just my opinion.

  • can you believe they inducted Alabama (2005) into the country music hall of fame before they did her (2008)....hell, gene watson aint in yet. just goes to show they dont have taste. emmylou is a music goddess.

  • Beautiful Emmy-Lou!!! Thanks for posting.

  • This is a Buck Owens song. Buck first made it famous in the early 1960's. Buck wrote and published it as well.

  • I think George and Tanya Tucker sounded real good together on this

  • DOLLY COULD SMOKE HER BUT SHE IS SWOLLEN GOOD!

  • The combination of Emmy's voice, and that fantastic steel playing is nearly bringing me to tears. Haven't heard something this moving in quite awhile

  • original song... Gorge Jones

Tammy Wynett and George Jones......Together Again

  • original song... Gorge Jones

  • @mmglavina George and Tammy sang it, but it was written and first done be Buck Owens

  • Emmy (imho) is singing to Gram Parsons.

A search will tell all for those that do'nt know the sad story.

This is a truely humble albeit talented woman

  • @OlderPete Right you are, my friend. It's truly sad what addiction can do to love... you love the person and hate the addiction. Gram was one heck of a musician. It's just sad he had to leave so early. Emmylou Harris is one of the classic beauties of country music and one of the most talented musicians to ever step to a microphone.

  • shear beauty in all forms....

  • I hear so much Joan Baez in her. I guess she's a combination of some of the best female voices to ever sing a song. Really nice.

  • @fairlyfast Better than Baez, in my opinion; much, much better.

  • Her hair was white last time I saw her "live." But still awesumly beautiful, and the voice as glorious as ever. Thanks for posting this video

  • One day God decided to show off. That was Emmy Lou's birth day.

  • me gusta mucho....(and I'm from the Broch!)....lovely song and lovely lady

  • Check out the band...Albert Lee on guitar, Rodney Crowell on acoustic and vocal harmonies, Emory Gordy Jr. on bass and Glen D. Hardin on piano...that's two that were in Elvis TCB band...

  • Is there anyone better? I don't think so.

  • Ok, OK I gotta say she's a knock out on this song and I loved it but I still love Buck Owens version too. He may be a country boy but he's got soul.

  • I was seventeen when I first heard her on 6th street in Austin Tx. That recording by

Her and her band. Love her

  • Buck did it like on one can!

  • gotta love EMMYLOU!!!!! pure talent no lady gaga SHIT here.

  • Saw her in concert at around the time of this recording. Post pubescent, pre-adult, I was completely entranced. She has aged gracefully, her timeless voice remains as goodas ever today and I guess she'll always have that something special.

  • super , super super!!!! no others to say

  • There's never been a better version of "Together Again" than Emmylou's! Absolutey beautiful!

  • A voice from Heaven. A natural beauty that is not easily surpassed.

  • Let's not argue Patsy Cline vs. Emmylou

both separate and amazing artists of different generations

It's like comparing Robert Johnson to BB King

  • But I love Emmylou most!

  • Beautiful then, and beautiful now!

  • What a singer, what a band! This is a real band, unlike todays want-a-bes with there click tracks and partially recorded tracks they have to have to even get thru an hour and half live show! There was only one Hot Band, even though the band evolved with other members, listen to this, it is timeless, sounds just as good today as then!!! Sorry to rant, I just absolutely hate what the music industry has done to real music!! I saw Emmy in the early 80's in Atlanta, to this day, the best show ever!

  • patcy cline was the first lady let no one forget this

  • @hotrodskier your mistaken Kitty Wells is the Queen

  • She looks so beautiful!

  • Rodney Crowell also on this great song

  • What a band what a singer

  • Emmy Lou for First Lady of Country Music

  • such a gorgeous song.......I could listen to emmylou continuously! love it!

  • Lovely song, lovely lady!!

  • .......the human standard for female beauty.

  • Not only a great song and performed FLAWLESSLY but what a GORGEOUS Emmylou. In this video, she is the closest thing to my ideal dream woman!! :)

  • Emmylou has been singing for two generations....perhaps she can sing for one more.

  • she`s sooo very a woman....

  • This is a woman and the favourite of my mother who died 2 months ago

  • Beautiful voice and a beautiful song!!! Love it!

  • Emmylou was good but could NEVER,EVER compete with the harmony and clarity of Buck Owens and Don Rich. I've been a fan of hers for years but che muddles up the words in most of her songs by letting them overlap.

  • Simply BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • gotta love that Emmylou!

  • Speaking as a keyboard player, the piano break still remains to this day one of the most beautiful and flowing pieces of work that I have ever heard. I absolutely love Emmylou's voice on this one, but I would listen to the whole song just to get to hear the piano break. Emmylou is still kicking out good stuff today.

  • i no and im only 12 years old and i L <3 VE this song

  • Somehow, her voice has to be cloned to survive forever. Something so beautiful cannot and should not be lost to the ages.

  • Whiskey drinking slowdance music.....with the Special One!

  • this is the best version...

  • one the most beautiful songs I know

  • Great music...........

  • Sempre grande Emmylou.

  • great vocals, and production of this piece...

  • Wonderful Emmylou, great great band, I only wish I could have seen them in the 70's. Thank you.

  • OMG - I am a huge Emmylou fan and I have never heard this version - a great, great song, a great, great entertainer, and a great, great band. OUTSTANDING!

  • When Emmylou was born they broke the mold......

There will never be another like her..

There are a lot of women entertainers, but nothing like Emmylou You Go Girl

  • In my opinion, this was her best (most talented) band.

  • I've never commented on her looks before, but some of the comments below forced me to look at her in greater detail.

She has the sort of cheek-bones, lips and nose (in particular) that all look as if they belong on the testimonial pages of a plastic surgeon's marketing literature. But then you look at the slight imperfections in her teeth and come to the conclusion that his woman is (or was at that time) beauty as nature intended!

  • @gone2thedogsmovie She got better looking with age.

  • @gone2thedogsmovie "slight imperfections in her teeth" WTF.

  • @gone2thedogsmovie she,is,beautyfull,you,should,look,further,no,sexual,britny,styles,why,always,sexual,as,sangers,looking,like,shakira,sell,with,sex,it,s,only,for,many,men,not,us,woman,what,we,ve,got,brad,pitt,i,don,t,want,to,see,him,naked,so.....

  • @gone2thedogsmovie And just look at how well she has aged!! What a calssic beauty.

  • @gone2thedogsmovie

I hope she donates her skull to science. There may some resonant quality about it that gives her those wonderful head tones that she exploits in her singing style, and that may also be related to the attractive cheekbones. Just a thought off the top of my head, so-to-speak.
