The Nazis gave us autobahns; there are other examples if you wish to play the finger pointing game.

Hume was human, and therefore not perfect.

He lived in a racist age. So did Lincoln. And like Lincoln, he advocated the emancipation of slaves. But history does not remember Hume for his racism, or even his voluminous history books; he is remembered as a ground-breaking empirical philosopher.

Who are you to judge history with the gift of 20/20 hindsight, Mr. Xerxes?
