Market Socialism is the best economic system ever thought of it combines the efficiency and competition of the markets with the freedom from exploitation, wage slavery and large amounts of income inequality.
To your point about the workers needing to be smart, they could just elect someone to lead the company who they could overrule by a vote if he/she went against their wishes.
@jackm24111859 i agree my views have changed since the making of this to a more classical market socialism more akin to that of Ricardo, Proudhon, & Tucker
i understand that the hierarchical business model only exists artificially do to barriers to entry on the market
if your interested i'm doing a narration on book that talks about market socialism
@curiositygun93 My views tend to be based on the concept of an economic democracy explored by David Schweickart, I disagree with Ricardo as I believe that exploitation is the nature of an uncontrolled free market so government must assist society in its transition to market socialism. Also which book?
@jackm24111859 the book is called studies in a mutualist political economy
i've come across your view many a time but i do not understand why people like using exploitation who will exploit who? the boss, employer, capitalists that only artificially exists do to barriers to entry on the job market created by the state? the book goes over why they would probably not exist on a free market
(i say probably because there has never been a free market in human history)
@curiositygun93 I'm guessing as a mutualist you reject the validity of the state? or do you only accept the economic values of mutualism and not the political ones?
Oh also check out Anarcho-Capitalism (vis-a-vis East African countries such as Eritrea and Somalia). Basically seems like an uber-violent kind of grassroots Anarchism where money has not been abolished! My opinion is that, whilst Anarchism is a wonderful idea, it cannot be a viable alternative to Capitalism. Marxist-Socialism, on the other hand, is still the great hope for humanity.
Thanks for the video. For me PRC-style Free Market Socialism is the best. Central Planning clearly didn't work in the USSR or under Mao. China's buy-sell-invest approach is superior to Guevara's armed struggle in Africa and Latin America wrt improving stand. of life. The USSR was a superpower only militarily, whearas the PRC is rapidly becoming No1 Nation-State & it will be interesting to see how they use their global influence when they overtake the USA and EU (forecast 2027).
Hi. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. My channel got swamped with negative press this week and I was out of town on business, so your video got lost in the avalanche of comments/responses.
I did watch your entire video - and I appreciate the olive branch. I have studied a lot of branches of Anarchism, including those incorporating free markets. And I think it's good to try to understand all the options before reaching conclusions.
I'll respond in more detail to your questions later.
