Between Germany and Italy is a big difference. In Germany we dont have a jury like in Italy. In Germany a judge decides by evidence. And some evidence are total wrong. They are deliberate wrong. This is the scandal in this case and therefore I say: This trial is a farce. Therefore was Italy by 2007 about 1300 times convicted by the ECHR and Germany about 50 times. Think about this. Her giving of evidence always changed. The first 2-3time they where interrogate as witness by CID not as offender. The first thing I find in the report was the sentence: The knife was apparrently hidden. Apparently hidden??? I don't know where the Italians store her cutlery, but normaly the people in Europe take it to the cutlery drawer. And from this drawer was the knife taken!!! I am not complaining. 26 years sentence is OK in this case, because Italian laws (unlike laws in my country) allow that long sentence. (Our maximum is 15 years and still we have a LOT less crime /100,000 inhabitants than USA)

There have been approx. 1000 execution in the US in the past 33 years. That means the probability of being falsely convicted, would have to be 1:1000 to have an innocent person convicted and put on death row assuming a capital punishment sentence is taken lightly, but they are not. I don´t think so...CSI is only a American TV reality! There is a different between a Italian cout and a US court. In USA a judge is elected by people in Europe (Italy, Germany, France) a judge is a trained profession . A judge is therefor independent. He will still remain as judge or as district attorney even if he release a murder in case of "dubio pro reo" . The indizies pointing against her and him.

Between Germany and Italy is a big difference. In Germany we dont have a jury like in Italy. In Germany a judge decides by evidence. And some evidence are total wrong. They are deliberate wrong. This is the scandal in this case and therefore I say: This trial is a farce. Therefore was Italy by 2007 about 1300 times convicted by the ECHR and Germany about 50 times. Think about this. @64thommy I don´t agree! The Italian judicial system is based on Roman law modified by the Napoleonic code and later statutes. Well but she always claimed, she wasn´t involved. Her giving of evidence always changed. The first 2-3time they where interrogate as witness by CID not as offender. He placed a different deposition on the records as she placed it to the investigators. The Police then startet to investigate in her direction.

The first thing I find in the report was the sentence: The knife was apparrently hidden. Apparently hidden??? I don't know where the Italians store her cutlery, but normaly the people in Europe take it to the cutlery drawer. And from this drawer was the knife taken!!! I suggest that you trust in the Jury who were taken to the scene of the crime and listened to the evidence for 10 months - also that you trust that the US Embassy had a representative at the trials and saw no reason to believe that there was unfair treatment - that you believe in the judicial system and the 19 judges who have studied the evidence
You cannot be an overnight expert in crime or this case... Noone with any authority is supporting Knox - if there was any real doubt all sorts

You say guilty on what basis? What evidence in the case convinced you that she did it? Was it the knife that was inconsistent with the wounds and that had so little blood on it that it couldn't test conclusively, or was it the complete stranger that was convicted for the same crime that helped people he did not know kill a woman. Or was it the prosecutor, that himself has been charged with making false allegations, that changed his entire recollection of events during closing arguments?

Why was there even a trial in the first place? She was going to be found guilty even if they could prove she was back in the USA at the time of the killing. This is a justice system that seems to be constructed to seem fair on the outside but will allow any verdict that the public/judge (insert any powerful figure or force here) to become a legally binding judgment. Why don't they just try to reestablish Germany's Enabling Act and do away with habeas corpus all together.

I am not complaining. 26 years sentence is OK in this case, because Italian laws (unlike laws in my country) allow that long sentence. (Our maximum is 15 years and still we have a LOT less crime /100,000 inhabitants than USA)

There have been approx. 1000 execution in the US in the past 33 years. That means the probability of being falsely convicted, would have to be 1:1000 to have an innocent person convicted and put on death row assuming a capital punishment sentence is taken lightly, but they are not. A convict will not be put on death row unless the court is totally sure of their guilt. I would be surprised is one innocent person was executed in this country.
