  • Who is the person that dislikes this? We should find him/her and give them some education.

  • ho ! yeah :) !!!!!!!!

  • If this doesnot kikk arse what doese?

    SORRY FOR THE SPELLING

  • 4.36 Peer Gynt on Bass hahaha ........fits perfectly !

    Power Trio..........great clip - sensational- thanx !

  • By this time Marriott was as good,if not a better guitarist than Frampton. Dont forget,he was the ONLY guitarist in the Small Faces. No disrespect to Pete but Steve was doing it alone long before hooking up with Pete. God Bless Ya Steve! RIP

  • NOW that is TONE!

  • I always liked bands such as humble pie but did,nt apppreciate just how good Mr Marriot was until i went to see him with this band. Another great guitarist / performer that is sadly missed.

  • My God! I want to be in a 3 piece band! This proves that's all you need! If I walked into any Bar and heard the band playing this I would 'Cream My Jeans'!

  • Fogerty, Seger, Marriot, Daltrey...I'm sure I'm leaving several out - but voices that just fit the music and were balls out rock!!!

  • @GroffinTiffin couldnt agree more add bon scott and maybe george thorogood and you have a classic list there :-)

  • Thanks SO MUCH for posting this vid. His Royal Rocknes Steve Marriot is often overlooked for his contribution to rock after the Small Faces. Who would have thought that a skinny little teenage "B" film actor would become such a rock legend.

  • This is just a great fucking version of this song! Leverton is a fine, fine accompaniest to Steve and Jerry and the POT make a great trio. I wish I could see what bass Leverton is playing cuz he's got that fucker honking and bashing and he carries his weight. Great post!!! Thanks so much!!!!

  • @videostan That's not necessarily the bass, Leverton could get more out of any bass than anyone else on the planet. It's probably a custom job though.

  • @videostan Its a Wal

  • Im sure thats Jim Leverton on bass,he plays in a band called The Blue Devils, i saw them in my local pub a while back in Kent..

  • Saw "Samll faces" many years ago as they were getting Famous.

Stevie always been my hero..I still miss him so much!

I am still playing at 69....just started "Jamming" in Marlborough ..UK.

I want to do Small Faces ..Songs....any offers...coem along please.

I am only 5 ft tall and should have joined The Faces..

"Rene" my y song....hehehe.."Parading on the Keyside"

Goto goto goto goto goto....get some more "Itchycoo Park" and more.......

    Mickey Marlborough.(UK)

  • damn tight

  • iv'e got this dvd

  • I don't love every aspect of getting older, I'm 58, but I'll tell you, I'm so thankful that I was born when I was... for so many reasons... one of which is that I got to see this brilliant cat a dozen times in Boston and in London (God Bless the Rainbow Theatre, RIP)... most often in very small places where you left soaked in sweat from Mr. Marriott's sheer energy and exuberance. I never saw him give less than 110%. Humble Pie were a life experience, nobody that saw them ever forgot them.

  • One of the greatest entertainers and a great band to boot... Missed.

  • Awesome intro.

  • good stuff but the dungarees were a grave error

  • Stevie you were born to SING~and sing you are in heaven~

  • Great music & bass play! And even Edward Grieg in a flash!!

  • Fucking brilliant

  • Goin down the Beltway, before it was even open~burnin one-next stop Viet Nam I don't need no Doctor~~but a few of them did. Tanks God for computer to recall the days!!

  • The No1 Mod. Stephen Peter Marriott. Thank you for the nusic. RIP You & Plonk.

  • All 4 Aces this man !

    RIP Brotha.

  • A good version...but he already lost his battle against drugs and alcohol.Such a darn shame and loss!!

  • hey man, I got it on DVD....I originally taped it onto VHS but my brother got pissed and recorded over it!!! ....anyway, I found the DVD and it made me happy

.....I'd do ya a copy but don't know how....share the love I say!

  • I see the "Suggestions" area on right of the page is wanting me to go over to John Mayer's version - give me a fuck'n break!!!

  • Don't get much better than this!!

  • My favorite version of this song. What a talented crazy ass he was! ...and what a rhythm section!!!

  • The Hall of the Mountain King segment in the middle makes an already amazing performance EPIC!

  • Good things come in small packets…..

  • @19CACTUS51

    Packets of 3, yes?

  • awesome!

  • Steve Marriott and Howlin Wolf, the 2 best blues voices of all time.

  • Oh, Tina Turner would love to have that voice.

  • No one does this song the way Steve did it. Can't be duplicated.

  • @tempofreak69 HERE HERE!!

  • man i love the bass line in this

  • @JustAintthatWay Me too. Very funky. I need to learn this one. The riff of the guitar is probably my favorite and to me its the most recognizable riff ever. :)

  • dennis hopper on bass?

  • stevie little hostile toward the fairer sex in this little ditty no?

but we forgive those we love

never a finer musical artist ever was (no simple musician he)

mariott tried out for the stones? ha! the stones shoulda had to try out for stevie

a comet that flamed out forgive the literal crudity i mean it figuratively of course

to steve mariott here here! long live his memory

  • @JustAintthatWay How's he hostile? He just likes girls with blonde hair, blue eyes and big boobs like any man. lol. Wish he would have said brunettes instead though...haha

  • Steve, he be preachin'!

  • @HerbDangerous - Steve righteous rockin' commin' home!

  • Steve wouldnt even need a mic thts how strong and powerful his voice is lol Awesome

  • Ray charles palyed with original, is a super version but dosn't have the power that Marriot, Leverton and Shirley put into it.

  • One of my favorites! Excellent quality.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Great tune!

  • Packet of 3 = the UK term for a standard package of condoms. Enough for a big night - maybe ;))

  • What I should've said is - this is the dogs bollox.

  • he was the greatest singer/guitarist this contry has ever produced,,,makes noel gallagher look like an xfactor drop out...

  • Don't need to make the comparison - Gallagher's a grade A pratt by any standard.

    Rock on Steve!

  • He became a drunk. he was drunk. Wat maakt het uit: he was and is the greatest!

    Love ye

  • Thumbs way up!

  • Marriott became a drunk, but he could put it together when he became too broke to drink. He was cool.

  • I like the blusey intro, this is a darn good version. I really like the sound of the Acoustic rig.

  • Yeah, some of these modern big time guitar gods (whatev) often forget to play a real SONG!!!

  • you just got to love him! RIP Steve, thank you for you tube, or I would have never seen him play.

  • steve really became very great on the guitar but his was and always will be him main asset. i love the small faces (got a copy of nut gone flake) and great fan of humble pie.

should have been bigger than zep!

but if they werent we wouldnt have had them too our selves!

  • class

  • Brilliant

  • frampton was long gone by this time-the mafioso fucked steve uo. we stiill have memorial concerts for him

  • Comment removed

  • You know, Frampton got all the guitar credit in Humble Pie, but Steve rocks the shit out of the guitar!!!

  • I heard more than once Frampton saying that Steve was an anderrated guitar player, was he right boy!!

  • @pjt30 so true bud rinsing the rhythm chords and then those clean melody notes in between - quite impressive guitar work no question

  • @pjt30 there biggest album was Smokin' after Frampton left with Clem Clempson on second guitar!

  • This is awesome!

  • These guys are steamin, yeah!!

  • Saw this performed for the first time at the Fillmore East when it was recorded in may of '71....Humble Pie should have and would have been huge if Frampton stayed...He and Steve had so much chemistry and a lot of interplay between them.....Clem was a better guitarist...But he just didn;t gel as much as Peter did with Steve.....Greg was also a key member rip.

  • convert these classics to an mp3

    zamzar dotcom

  • Saw this tour at the New Ocean in Cardiff....Oh yes.

  • most of the acts today can EAT some humble pie

  • Marriott. Even at 44, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE! THE BEST ROCKER OF ALL TIME!

  • This is the shit !

    Oh Yeah !!

  • Rockin the Fillmore was the best rock album ever recorded in my "humble" opinion. Marriot was one of the best for sure. That bass player is pretty good.

  • Great man, great band, greatly missed.

  • No one in rock will EVER touch Marriott! I don't care what he's wearing or what he weighs! Noother passing seems as fraught with whys & if onlys. He's the BEST ROCK musician to me hands down.He knew how to pick the best to play with, Plonk, Mac, Ridley, Clemson ...

A true diamond in the rough, there is no style he couldn't play or sing. No matter how bad it got he never gave up, his love for his music was REAL! Ah Marriott, always with me just best to me & I think he got better too! great vid.

  • great bluesy intor of Doctor. Steve makes that 335 howl~!..then kicks into gear. Awesome!

  • Such a thing of beauty. Practically brings tears to my eyes when that song starts to crank.

  • This is so upperclass!! In a normal world everybody would have a copy of this brilliant gig! Stop the fuckin´ plastic so called global world and all that fuckin´plastic music!!!

  • Very good video!!!!

  • I can't think of another artist who can come close to Marriott - for the combination of Vocal and Guitar.

  • there aren't, townshend maby.

  • Freddie King

  • @ziontie : Rory Gallagher doubled up pretty well, though he is known more for his guitar and Steve for his voice. Both were amazing.

  • Stevie Marriott - blues wizard !! Very underrated guitarist and just about the best singer. I think he learned a lot of guitar from Clem Clempson in Humble Pie even though he was good before

  • coolest looking man in the 60's to wearing denim dungarees! The 80's were a bad time! ha

  • True. From the most modern mod ever to Farmer Brown overalls in less than two decades. Course, Steve's weight gain didn't help. He never lost that voice, though, and that's what really mattered.

  • What friigin stunnin stuff on this vid that is 20 years old..anyone got a copy of the gig complete, Camden Palace was it?

  • Yep, Camden Palace. This was originally filmed for the "Live From London" TV series. It was available in the US on videotape and DVD a few years back, but I think it's been discontinued now. You might find a copy on Ebay. Rock on!

  • @BloozeRockJunky

I've got the album of this great gig on vinyl...somewhere ;-)

  • Bah ! I had a copy of this on VHS years ago - lent it to my dad, and never got it back ! - Thank goodness for youtube !

  • ziontie, there must be something about fathers and VHS tapes. I used to lend my dad tapes and it was like they got lost in the Bermuda Triangle.

  • @varfurile1 buy the dvd? It's not that expensive you know...

  • Looking forward to seeing Jim, Steve's Bassist here, playing in the pub again with Geoffrey when he comes back from touring with Murray Head.

  • He was unbelievably good. May he rest in peace.
