  • The use of "manorexia" is simply a gimmick to get guys to pay attention to the issue. Otherwise, men look at the word anorexia and think it only applies to females. It may be a bit sexist, but it's to keep guys from thinking "I can't have anorexia, that's only for chicks. I'm just trying to get fit."

The use of "manorexia" will get phased out, don't worry people. Sheesh.

  • ITS ANOREXIA, not manorexia..fucking retards

  • @Sleepwheniamdead ...what the fuck hopefully that is sarcasim.

  • 'Manorexia' does nothing to raise awareness...it simply makes male eating disorders seem weird or less serious then females with eating disorders. No guy with an eating disorder is going to hear that term and think 'Gee, I could get help now! I just have manorexia.' They're going to cover up their disorder even more because they're ashamed.

Disordred eating is disordered eating. Eating disorders are eating disorders. They don't know sex or gender.

  • ...Gary is getting fat!...get on the elliptical Gary!...you let yourself go....that gut is terrible...

  • Its a pun dumb shits, not sexism, its SUPPOSED to be funny.

  • @TheVi0later Oh, right, because eating disorders is an incredibly funny issue and not destructive at all. I get it now! Fucking hilarious.

  • @Redonx Ikr LOL

  • What the fuck? Manorexia? That's not a word. I'm a girl and I hate when people only think sexism applies to females. Um. no. It applies to dudes too. Anorexia is anorexia. It can kill whether you are a man or a woman.

  • lol manorexia this is my first time hearing that lol

  • manorexia. lolz.

  • @JDodd22267 you are the reason why young teenagers are committing suicide, i hope no gay teenagers with low self esteem read your hateful and ignorant comments, i honestly hope you have kids and one of them is gay so you can see that it is completely normal and not something to be made fun of.

  • Although I relate and feel terrible for anyone and everyone who has suffered an eating disorder---men will never feel the societal pressure that woman do.

  • @dreamergirl0071 Too true.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm very glad this is brought up. It is beyond the knowlege of some people that males also get anorexia. A couple of years ago i suffered from it. Im naturally already too thin and later i starved myself wich went very bad. I'm only just recovering now.

  • @irukakan i know that their for women and homosexuals

  • I thought America was fat.... according to SUPER SIZE ME

  • @IchBinPerfekt Thats like saying you enjoy sucking dick but your straight......eating disorders are for women why would a homosexual in denial try to pick up women by doing something gay your making absolutely no sense what so ever

  • @JDogg22267 You idiot. Eating disorders are not just "for women".

  • @IrukaKan He said homosexuals 2 haha

  • it angers me that they call it man-orexia,its simply anorexia just because it is a man it makes no diferent..its just some catchy frace to attract viewers!!!

  • It is so much harder for a man to look good than a woman to look good. All a woman has to do is cut down on her calories. A man has to pump iron for hours per week and balance his calories with muscle buiding nutrients.

  • @GladiatorGT FOR YOUR INFORMATION IT'S ACTUALLY MUCH HARDER FOR WOMEN TO LOSE WEIGHT , BESIDES THE EXCERCISE IS TO GAIN MUSCLE NOT TO LOSE WEIGHT , IT HELPS BUT YOU ALSO HAVE TO WATCH WHAT YOU EAT...GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!

  • @GladiatorGT FOR YOUR INFORMATION IT'S ACTUALLY MUCH HARDER FOR WOMEN TO LOSE WEIGHT...GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!! STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF!!

  • @JDogg22267 You know homosexuality isn't a choice, right? You can't choose who you're attracted to, and you might realize that if you actually use your brain for once. In fact, I bet you're just in the closet yourself and are only bashing gay people to take any suspicion off of yourself.

  • oqaay !! isnt the problem fat america !!

  • I hate sexism. "Manorexia" is not a fucking word. Use the proper term like professionals, please.

  • @0livia0live Centuries ago, there were no words. Every word was made up at some time. Whole languages have been born this way.

  • Comment removed

  • another name for that is being a faggot

  • @JDogg22267 you are an ignorant homophobe. your probably the fat bully

  • Actually, women generally don't develop anorexia or bulimia out of fear of gaining weight, they do so for control. The situation in which they are in is often one where they feel the have no say in what happens to them and food is one of the few things that they can control, so they do so, it has nothing to do with wanting to be skinny, though that is often used as an excuse by those who want to make it seem more trivial than the life threatening condition it is.

  • America is messed up. Their either talking about how deathly obese we all are or how deathly skinny we are...why cant everybody just get to a nice medium size.

  • @123msteen Ignorance is bliss there buddy?

  • @coldpinkflame ARE you calling me ignorant or are you calling america ignorant which would still be calling me ignorant either way....whatever

  • thing is, its the people. some people are naturally skinny, its actually unhealthy for them to overeat because people think theyre ano. if they eat normally, then, its good. same with people who are naturally a bit chubby ect.

people who are healthy looking are lucky.

  • not eating causes muscle loss.

id rather have alot of fat with muscles underneath that fat

  • LOL! If you suffer from Manorexia you are in no way a man. Your a gay guido who self tans and gels his hair while talking about working out. Not so gay that you fart glitter but still pretty gay

  • @MoltaMagician that's the most ignorant thing i've ever heard. read a psychology book, you prick.

  • @devonmaya I object! I've said way more ignorant things than that comment. But I still feel that I'm right. Just one opinion

  • i hate the term 'man-orexia' . it makes it cutsey or something, like less of a problem. and its not!

  • This is a weakness where us normal people don't have to pay money for :)

in fact , you dumb bitches go ahead starving yourself , i'm glad to have more food for myself ;)

yes , i AM rude. i'm also very realistic.

  • The real source of eating disorders is people sticking their noses into other people's business and saying, "Oh you should be thinner" or "You should be bigger". Just leave each other the fuck alone and live your own lives.

    There, problem solved.

  • @xXCamillaFawnXx you should be more quiet.

  • @Drakoman07 Why? Am I typing too loudly?

  • @xXCamillaFawnXx i was being satirical. It was a parody of your "you should ...". Sorry, it was a joke. Once you explain a joke, it's not funny. :(

  • @Drakoman07 Ahh I see.

  • I'm sick and tired of these mother fucking geckos on my mother fucking youtube videos.

  • Scary.

  • Well, Vigilante, I prefer a man who is huge, with lots of muscle and wide shoulders. Usually men don't need to be anorexic, so that's why it's such a big deal. Just throwing that out there for you.

  • Man-orexia? That isn't manorexia? That is megarexia, when you're obsessed of being big and muscylair. Tsk.

  • hahaha "skinny America"

  • "skinny" america doesn't exist..

isn't america the fattest country in the world??

  • in highschool, most girls date extremely skinny guys. Makes us thick guys feel like shit. not fat, but thick =/ suicide fixes everything so, yep.

  • @zomgwtfbbqbagel yeah thats highschool, but if you hit the gym being thick is an advantage, especially in college ;)

  • @zomgwtfbbqbagel This may depend regionally-- the skinny guys were generally getting crap in my high school for being too thin (my town is predominantly overweight/obese). Not sure if you have attended college or not, but at least in my college (I went to a VERY diverse college, so results do vary) both males and females of all shapes/sizes could be seen in relationships so it really does depend on the people and potentially even the region.

  • Skinny America. That's like Fat France.

  • @PixieDust19962 or like ugly spain

  • @PixieDust19962 You mean that is like a hairless French.

  • wow. eather there obese or anorexix (cant spell)

  • we all need to be thin and save more food

  • Isent america where all the fat peolpe liv?? , "skinny america" wtf!!

  • @takidoki AMERICA FUCK YEAH

  • should enjoy the experience and make the absolute most of it not spend that time beating yourself up and possibly cutting short your life because whilst you're doing these things to yourself the rest of the world is doing its own things. So to everyone who suffers from an eating disorder i wish you all the best and i really hope you take onboard my words!God bless :)

  • unless they look a certain way or there perceived notion of how they should look then the disorder will continue. The key to overcoming disorders of this nature is for people to feel truely comfortable in their skin which is alot easier said than done but thats the true key.You can either go through life torturing yourself until you end up dead through malnutrition or you can become a content person who doesnt care so much of things that in all reality are very trivial. You only live once so you

  • Some of the comments on here are pretty vile to put it mildly!People who suffer from these types of disorders have a distorted image of how they look.So whilst to everyone they look like a skeleton to put it bluntly to themselves they may actually look fat and thus it goes on and on until they get over it or they're dead!To overcome this issue you need to treat the emotions behind the disorder ie if someone thinks that they'll never have a boyfriend or girlfriend or success, etc in there life

  • im sorry but i love food too much

  • Oh my god everyone has their own tastes personally I can't see why any women would be attracted to a skinny guy.

I thought the perfect man was supposed to be muscular not some 100lb weakling that can't lift a twinkie.

  • Comment removed

  • man i believe cant be has thin as a real woman suffering with anorexia cuzz if a guy gets thin your supose o have abs

  • Even in 2007, I find it hard to believe that people were stupid enough to believe that men could not have eating disorders.

  • I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY WE DO IT FOR ATTENTION!!! you dont know what the hell you are talking about if you think that!!! you dont know anything until you go through it! so you have no right to judge, because you dont know what we deal with!

  • People are stupid, just eat food go to work come home hangout with your girl shut the fuck up and stop whining, everyone has problems. Everytime a subject thats on the rise pops up on cbs or some other stupid ass fucking news channel and nothing productive happens.

  • @eggo265 you dont fucking know what we go through, so shut the fuck up!

  • @eggo265 who the hell do you think you are making comments like that, anorexia is like schizophrenia in that people cant help it. It shows how uninformed you are making flipent comments, without stopping to consider it is life threatening causing people to die painfully from starvation because they cant fight it.

trying learning before you say things, and thats coming from a 15 year old.

  • Also. Rather a little to fat then a little too thin

  • the problem with most reporters/hosts is i can see there hiding there opinion and real emotions. (not topical at all but it just bothers me)

  • Don't even try to tell my those muscle guys are healthy! They've made themselves unnatural and unhealthy. A body is NOT a machine, we need some body fat, we need rest, we need food.

  • manorexia is sexy if you ask me

  • There are far more fatasses that could crush the anorexic people. HANDLE THE FATTYS FIRST

  • asain milf at start

  • In 1989 I was still an egg

  • @buttmemonkey what does that have to do with anything? xD

  • its amazing what the human mind can do to you

  • I'm sick of this being addressed as a Girly issue...good to see this...

  • @hucklebuckle1990 so sad right.?

  • I'm not going to worry about anorexia in America and I'm not going to worry about people dying from having flying debree from outer space landing on them.

  • How did he lose 60 pounds in a "matter of months"? Let's hear it! LOL. What did he cut out or off.

  • @MisterSnoutbug He cut out all of his food.

  • I have to totally disagree with that doctor.. I HAVE ANOREXIA AND IM MALE, has nothing to do with emotions or weight issues, My problem completey stems itself from CONTROL!!! It is the only thing I can control in my life! I am being treated for it from a wonderful doctor who also treats women in the SAME MANNER not different. Men and women both share the same traits for anorexia.

  • @Bella1978100 I hope u are able to overcome this disease and lead a normal healthy life.Best wishes=)

  • i dont get it why do people, man and women, have such low self esteem? its really quite pitiful you just end up hearing story after story wake up people eat a CHEESEBURGER OR SOMETHING!!

  • we should care LESS of looks are MORE of personality :\

  • Irony isn't it

talking about eating disorders and showing massive men working out

but when you think of eating disorders

    its to get smaller xD

  • I think men may keep the issues secret longer than women with the "I don't have an eating disorder, I'm not a sissy" self rationale.

  • Dr. Ted Weltzin needs a new hair piece.

  • Its those stupid hipsters tand emos rying to fit into their skinny jeans.

  • it is now obese america ): .

  • i have a cousin that was a normal weight when he was a child. but when he turned about 15, he couldnt gain anymore weight, he was at 117 lbs. he is 29 and still at 117. this guy can eat like crazy! ive seen him go to Mcdonalds and kill 2 big macs, a double cheese, and large fries in one meal!, he still never gains weight. ive also seen him destroy BBQ chicken like mad. and sometimes his weight might jump up by 2 lbs at the most. but gose back to 117. he eats like that but still looks anorexic!

  • i try to avoid looking at magazines that have pictures of people with the "perfect" body. it is terrible that you're not considered pretty or handsome unless you are really thin!! it makes me mad!!!!!

  • @Bubblesxoxo95 I know, humans are beautiful creatures, full stop. And dont worry, the perfect body does not exist. Just because you may be overweight, doent mean you're not pretty e.g. Dawn french, she's a larger woman, but she is beautiful. And if you are overweight, doesnt mean for a second that you're perfect. I'm not overweight, but there are things I dont like about my body e.g I'm ALWAYS pale, I could do with slightly bigger boobs etc (I've only just started to like my legs lol).

  • @666serialkiller666 The fact is, everyone has at least one attractive feature, whether you are slim, nice eyes, nice smile, or whatever. Maybe for once us hmans should look for the best in people rather than the worst e.g "she's fat" etc.

  • i started to develop abnormal eating habits at 13 and grew progressively worse until my intestines suffered gangrene when I was 23. I was 95 lbs at my thinnest on a 5'10 frame.

  • skinny is happy.

  • People need to wake up. Millions of people starve to death in the world, and it's not by choice.

  • ANOREXIC PEOPLE ARE FREAKISHLY SCARY

  • "Skinny" America? what parallel universe are they living in?

  • @WarpSpider

that is exactly what i thought.

  • @WarpSpider hahahaha. Yeah...

  • @WarpSpider haha very true

  • @WarpSpider i know right? what happened to "childhood obesity?" now it's "skinny" america?

  • Some people resort to anorexia and bullimia do so because of the feeling of loss of control in one's life.

"I may have no control over other aspect of my life, but I have control over this one thing."

It happened to me when I was 15 years old..

  • I don't know if anybody noticed but that guy Gary from Wisconsin had an accent and well... it was kinda hot . well at least in my opinion :P

  • I know a guy who lost half of his teeth due to bulemia and there is almost no help out there for him. A very kind dentist fixed his teeth w/ implants but he still battles and still feels worthless.

  • i wish i could control my weight like christian bale. he can be skinny, fat, or whatever he wants.

  • skinny guys are hot ^^

  • How did Christian bale get so damn skinny? That goes for all these actors whom have played such parts that required such...insane.

  • yeah but he gained his muscle as well as more back :)

  • Actually America is getting fatter and grayer.

  • @xShad0wGhostx true

  • diggin' that first guy's hair.

  • People are idiots. Anorexia can happen to both sexes! Why are women the ones starving themselves when nature intended for them to have more body fat? They should be celebrating their curves and their healthy body instead of going skinny. Guys have a much easier time losing weight because that's what nature wants. I also really don't understand how big and buff guys are considered attractive. Personally, I think it's a myth. Give me a HEALTHY and slender/athletic male model anyday.

  • i know what you mean i hate saying my weight to boys because they are like wow your fat and then i say well it u take of my ass my boobs and my hips yes i will probably weigh 10 or 15 punds less and women are soppsed to be curvy not stick thin then they look like boys! and what man wants to be dating someone that looks like their own sex if they r straight

  • dam straight girl

  • You are correct. I am a male BUT I learned why females need more body fat than male. It is for their reproduction. What cushions the baby? Fat, that is what.

Many women don't comprehend that they NEED fat..more so than us men.

  • @Vigilante7s i used to have anorexia when i was 12 my arm was like only 4 inches and i weight 26kg now i'm 17 i gained abit of weight and some extra muscles 13inches and 54kg

  • @MTVasiaROCKS Good for you! : )

  • @Vigilante7s I am skinny and healthy. I eat very often and a lot of food, but my body just don't gain fat for some reason. well.......i am very athletic as well. good for me.

  • @Vigilante7s 0:54 is pretty much perfect would you agree?

  • Comment removed

  • @Vigilante7s I think you mean toned men :) Kind of skinny but still pretty muscular, right ?

  • @Vigilante7s

    I looooove lean muscle.

Guys who look skinny and like weaklings.....until you see them naked. xD

  • @Vigilante7s Anorexia and bulimia are also coping mechanisms that both sexes use to deal with traumatic experiences in their lives. It could be sexual assault, physical abuse, or even mental abuse.

  • im 5'10 180....lol i love my volumptous body

  • The word is voluptuous . No m

  • thank you ....i love having my own personal proof reader.....bociferous? i assume you meant vociferous mimi

  • No. Bociferous. It's meant to be that way. It's part of an inside joke. If you need any more editing, I will be happy to help. I majored in spelling. ( Also funny )

  • yes i bet it was on purpose, just like your birth huh? yea right

  • I have quite a bad eating disorder i just cant eat its not like i'm doing it on purpose i just dont get hungry... i have been beaten all my life i am born with a cromersone disorder SO HOW DARE YOU CRITICS START ON PEOPLE ALREADY HURTING ITS NOT AS EASY AS U THINK IT IS .... I THINK THEM PEOPLE ARE THE ONES THAT MAKE OTHERS HAVE A LOW SELF ESTEEM IN THE FIRST PLACE .... THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY FIRST ITS BANG OUT OF ORDER****!!!!!!

  • yeah recovery is not easy, its very very hard. But don't take it out on us who are agreeing that people with Eating disorders are hurting themselves and ultimately we are saying GET HELP!. So don't loose your temper on us when we think its gross (b/c why sugar coat the truth?) it's not our fault you are too weak to seek recovery (because getting help and recovering is very very hard)

  • you dont get hugnry anymore because your metabolism is screwed up. yes yes yes we all know that people who are predisposed to having eatings disorders are due to a wide array of factors that are psychological (like the abuse you said), Biological (genes, the more closely u are related to some1 w/ clinical depression or ED the more likly you are to get ED) and social factors (society's norms that thin is in) all of these factors COMBINE make some1 more inclding to developing Eating Disorders

  • I don't get this. Fat guys are on TV all the time. And if they aren't fat they are muscular, not skinny. But I guess guys can be self conscious too. Anorexia and bulimia are horrible no matter who does it and how far they take it. I wish that Hollywood would see what they are doing to people and hire more average and plus-sized people. Every person is beautiful in their own way, be it physical characteristics or personality, and people need to see that.

  • ha I'm 5'5 104lbs, no Anorexia or that other skinny crap... all i do is eat sleep &play computer all day no running & exercising, I only drink soda never water... am i broken...?

  • 12Burtonboy, Yea, sounds like you have a problem. When I stopped growing I was 5'7" 125-130ish at 18. I felt VERY skinny. At 165 now I still dont feel heavy/fat. I don't really understand this "man-orexia. If anything I always felt I should eat more, not less. At 5'10"130 you should clearly not be feeling as you should be counting fat and calories. I would see a therapist and or doctor if I were you.

  • But skinny men are not considered attractive by society the buff guys are. Manorexia doesnt make sense, no one finds thin men attractive so who are they doing it for? themselves?

  • maybe in US .... skinny is beautiful.... fashion model in most cases are very slim...

  • I actually prefer normal/slender men who are healthy, and I'm not the only one... I don't find buff guys attractive at all. Anorexic women are not considered attractive either, btw.

  • @Vigilante7s oops not 4 inch but its close very close to 4 inches

  • @papertreegun In the end anorexia doesn't always exactly revolve in wanting to have the perfect body, but having a sense of control. Many people with eating disorders develop them because they feel overwhelmed and unable to control what goes around them. To find a sense of release they choose to control what they eat. I mean words like, "It's my body, I can do whatever I want with it!" are pretty common. I hear my friend who cuts say it all the time. They just want to feel that sense of control.

  • I'm 5'7 or so and about 130-135 lbs, but I am skinny... 5'10 and 130 burtonboy? wow... i guess u are skin and bones... but are you young? cause if you are in your teens your bones are less dense so it's probably that you are just naturally skinny. I was 5'7 and about 120 in highschool, so yeah that's probably the case.

  • im 5 10 and weigh 130 pounds everything is too big for me even xs sizes are to big i wear female jeans because a mens 29 is even baggy for my legs am i man orexic? im constantly trying to watch what i eat (counting fat, NEVER eat sweets, always eating small portions) i just about never have an appetite

  • Speaking from experience?

  • My only experience with anorexia is watching videos with these pathetic maggots that starve themselves and look like corpses.

With the REAL suffering that goes on in the world, I have no pity for their self-induced, attention grabbing antics.

Clever response by the way. I've never heard that 'witty' come back before. Its almost original as "I know you are but what am I."

  • It may not be real to you, but for the person going through it- it is. It's very easy to judge and point fingers when you don't know what it's like.

  • YOU DONT EVEN KNOW YOU MUST HAVE NO HEART i have been sexually abused and after that how on earth am i doing it for attention ??? in fact its quite the opposite so i think u should think about it before you critisize as people like u made us have low self esteem it the first place THAT COMMENT WAS BANG OUT OF ORDER , YOUR HEART MUST BE LIKE LIQUID NITROGEN! TERRIBLE

  • Also i just want to say to anyone suffering like me hang in there get medication soups from your doctors even if u can only drink 1 shake its gonna make u feel that little bit better as i get pains and a lot of other symtoms NOT INCLUDED WITH ANOREXIA , just hang in there guys BE CAREFULL ( you doctor is confidentual )

  • to get mucel u need to eat that protiene helps build mucel mass so chow down and eat a hamburger i like hamburgers there so good mmmmm with chees not to much kechup sometimes i toast the bread is delicoious wispers *i like hamburgers*

  • I love chaging my body. I only like maintaining my weight for the holidays or gaining. But each season I try to either loose or gain weight. Like last year I just got underweight and skinny all summer. ANd then september-oct I gained 19 pounds. ANd now i'm just a normal healthy weight.I still have a shape but I just wanted to see what i would look like with more weight, and it spread out evenly and i look great. I'm going to try to be even skinnier when spring hits. Holidays no way,2 good food!

  • skinny and america in the same sentence

    AHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA

lol they gave up making reports about all their fat people

  • I am getting sick and tired of people calling the other person a fatass or a toothpick... I've been called both in my lifetime. I used to be fat (5 feet 6 inches, 175 pounds). Then I lost weight through diet and exercise (now, I'm 5 feet 8 inches, 128 pounds). I do work out with weights now, but I'm always uneasing about eating certain foods. I have even been called anorexic... what the hell. I just don't even know how much I need anymore. This is ridiculous =/

  • I think manorexia is that men want to keep fit, not gain any weight, they want to be lean and muscular with no fat on their body. But they do that for too much and strange!

  • Society is idiotic. The word "weird" carries so many different interpretations. what I think is "weird" is something that doesn't improve the quality of life of a person.

  • HAHAHA SKINNY AMERICA(?)

  • skinny america... what were those called? oxymoron?

  • yep!

  • Show me another race on who does this besides whites and a the odd asian here and their. It's a bunch of vanity/attention driven nonsense.

  • Idiot. There's aneorexia everywhere, as there are advertisements almost EVERYWHERE. Its not a problem specific to one culture.

  • Excuse me? That's incredibly racist. One of my best friends fought anorexia and she was Mexican. So shut your mouth.
