i think that this footage was when the game just came out or maybe a pre copy. if you look at the game play, everything is a great deal sharper and some things look different on the hud. its quite possible that the monster in question is in fact not in the american version of the game or was only in the pre copy. or could be just a plain ol' badass skag with a rock in front of it. cause in the area you fight Moe and Marley there is a high chance you will fight also a badass skag. just an idea.

Crawmerax is a giant beetle like creature that hibernates like any other beetle hence why he digs in and out of the ground, he grew so big that he got stuck here you fight him. He is the last of his king with the rest either being killed or dieing out. Other then that it may be a Rakk hive
