  • 89 dislikes why, cause they can dance.

  • Hey, check my channel out and see a little bit of Brazil.

  • Thing is that not everyone in the world can do the trips that you've done, not even to 1 or 2 countries, before running out of money. I live in Sweden, and even if I could go on 6 month trip I wouldnt. I am more than happy to see your experience like this, and keep on with life, friends and family here. I am in the creative buisness, much like Video Game Design, and its 2 sides to that sword (good and bad ofc) as with anything else(including travelling). Great clips anyway. Love & peace on earth

  • This guy must have one of the world's biggest carbon footprint ! And what for ? Absolutely nothing but pure leisure and vanity... I know someone who did something like this, but on a bike, taking a flight only when absolutely necessary. He spent a little more than 14000 euros for 44000km in 27 months. He didn't make videos of himself for YouTube. His website : tourdumondeenbent.free.fr/en/index1024.html

  • he is the most famous bad dancer! its amazing!!

  • What an awesome guy

  • I Love Matt. We need more people like Matt in this world. Maybe Matt could visit the UN & dance with our World Leaders. Maybe Matt could change the world.

  • Mein Herz lacht, wenn ich Ihn sehe und die Freude, die er uns und der Welt durch seine unglaublich witzige und irsinnig einfache Idee geschenkt hat, ist riesig!!!

  • do you live in Washington cuz it looks allot like Seattle pls reply and add me on facebook my name is justuss will with a pic of the the gorilaz album deth note

  • rien à dire sinon merci

  • I believe he's a chink descent, what do you guys think?

  • google for "couchsurfing"... Traveling around the world is not expensive.. Actually you can get it almost for free. Having seen the world makes you much richer than staying at the same place as a money-rich man..

  • Country called MACRONESIA

    HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH!L!L!!@%$@!&((%!^&*@)$

    hahahaahahahahah

    IDIOT!!!

  • I love this message! If you want to travel, save up and travel. I'm tired of listening to people say they can't afford to travel -- but they spend more than $50 a month on cable tv, have a cell phone that costs $35 a month, drive a new car, etc., etc... If you want to travel, you can.

  • All these travels and MACRONESIA IS A COUNTRY????? stoopid dummphuq american....

  • a very classy display of wherever you are from

  • You must be Matt's dumber brother :)

  • @aaroncillo

    "stoopid dummphuq american...."

    try again

  • I saw him on a big screen in New York City... So he was locked in led's

  • well there is lock on the cage Matt...couse Im living in Bosnia so...

  • Envy this guy.

  • once I'm out of the army, I am using all that money to live life to the FULLEST!!

  • Same here brotha

  • This is a wake up call for the people at home on the computer and video games 24/7. And also for the people who has boring jobs such as being stuck in an office everyday doing paperwork.

  • Watch the video first to find out....

  • We only live once, it's best to live your dreams ASAP

  • The sad thing is everybody thinks what you are thinking. The amount of people that can actually really do it, is minute, extremely so, I mean in terms of doing such a phenomenal thing.

  • This person has an ecological footprint of atleast 10 people :s

  • yes because that's what's important here... *rolls eyes*

  • wow, i wanted to be a video game designer but never mind. I never thought about just sitting at a desk for 10 hours. This guy is lucky. He gets too see the world and no boundries.

  • well i think his message was that the world is not just an exotic place far away thats locked away from us.

If you want to see it then just stick some thumbtacks randomly in a map and go. be free!

  • Comment removed

  • you're a pure idiot. of course he is in seattle. how and why would you even bother faking being in seattle lol.

  • Get a brain

  • travelled the world twice, and he thinks hes a deadbeat? :D

  • Am i the only one who tried to do his dance?????

  • yea

  • Nope I tried... it looks sooo easy but I can't manage it the way he does !!

  • nope... :p

  • lax to costa rica $300 $5 per night $5 food $16 travel across the country.Pull a tigers tail and get stuck in quicksand.:~^

  • now i have the same dream like you JUST BREAKING FREE and doing what i want (and im just 14 years old (i dont have enough money to travel around the world))

  • true that, got the same idea. on ly two years older

  • oh yes

i have experience with buses in africa (kenya)

..once the women next to me was vomiting

and then you get shoved in between people who don't smell so hot

    ...yep.

    but I LOVE TRAVELING

    it's amazing.

  • u're the man well done

  • hehe...and that's the greatest job ever...to travel around the world. So many beautiful things to see. Nice job Matt :)

  • Well done mat youve done good for the planet

  • wot a lucky guy...im jealous......peace

  • BULL BUTTER!

if you think staying in south east asia is cheap, YOUR INSANE!

i went to thailand and blew every dime in my checking account in a little over a week.

  • amazing! wish i could do that more than anything!!

  • the sound of the interview is terrible, hope there wasn`t a pro getting money out of it. talking about money, i wonder why so many people on the world who aren`t poor so shy to talk about their earnings. afraid of what ?

  • Woo!

  • Matt Harding.

    Great man!

  • Man! he's got the greatest job in the world!! (talk about job satisfaction)

  • not to be a biter but i want to travel the world and video tape it too looks like fun if i can do that id die happy

  • Your my hero.

I guess I'll end up like this. I also feel like going into the video game department. But you are making me already aware there is so much more besides that.

Maybe we'll be dancing together someday, 'cept I can't do the epic dance :)

  • this is inspiring. seriously. :)

  • he looks younger than 32,i love the music of his videos

  • What is the message, you ask. That you're free to dance with the world, and if you do, like as not, the world with dance with you. My heart joins in that celebration every time I watch Matt dancing around the world, sharing his joy.

  • That the human race is essentially the same, despite the color, language and culture.

  • nice one dude

  • no it isnt, human race differs greatly, intelligent ppl vs idiots.

  • This guy is very good with his vedeos!

  • your an inspiration matt

    keep doing your thing;)

traveling is the best thing in the world

    we live just once

  • @WORLDSTANDS Thank you.

  • u should work with people :) u look like a great people person

  • well he's going to have to get a job sooner or later. This gig/money won't last forever... back to working at the VideoGame store.

  • He was a a video game developer, he worked with Destroy all Humans, but yes your right I imagine....

  • creo1206. no he won't because people will continue to sponsor him. he gets alot of money dancing all around the world

more that enough to last forever

  • well like most advertising, it gets old after the first time. I'm sure he has made a nice amount from the sponsors he has had (i would hope).. although I've never seen him on any other advertising format then youtube.

But either way I'm sure he has had a good life and if he's smart he will think of other ways to break societys thinking. But like most, he will be typecast, do a few guest speaking events and be forgotten about. I could be wrong, but really I'm never wrong.

  • actually, there are soo many different countries and places to go that it may not all look the same. I think its cool he was given the oppurtunity to travel all around the world; most people dream of this.

  • what Stride has done is no different than what anyone major corporation would do to promote their name and products. You see an opportunity and you run with it. It does seem like they took advantage of this kid - what will Matt's real life be like in the future?? It was like giving candy to a baby.

At least in return, Matt gets to go around the WORLD to places we all dream about. To be honest, if you were in his shoes, would you have said no??

  • my dream is to travel all over the world

  • Me too, and make movies....lol

  • same here..need the cash t do it lol

  • what song is the song he plays i like it

  • lighten up, doc.

  • I'm not going to defend myself because you just did it. For what I said about Matt, well that's my opinion. A very crude opinion that sucks...but my opinion at the end and of course I shouldn't have said that. "Live and let live"! I totally agree. Cheers man!

  • Yeah an inspiration. How to waste our lives playing video games and being a nomad. Hehe nah he kinda is an inspiration for chasing your dream and breaking your mind's boundries.

  • yo, what a buzzkill! let him live a little

  • that's jealousy

  • I assure you it's not. I'm a doctor (general medicine for now). Do you really think I have any reason to be jealous? :) I've already transformed my 18 years of study into a great, well payed job and managed to make (and keep) enough friends on the way so that I will have someone that I enjoy to travel with. This guy travels with his cameraman, right? I don't know if he's his friend, but I doubt it :) Also, I'll never have to act silly on youtube to earn money so that I can fulfill my dreams ;)

  • Good.. as a difference from you i'm an engineer. Well you seem to be jealous. i know, you may have your own reason and idea of traveling. He has his own idea, why instead of make critics you don't just watch and enjoy what other people do?. difference between thoughts and actions is what makes life interesting.. isnt it?. even if he acts silly, he enjoys that.. so just respect what he does. he doesn't insult or harm anyone, so i believe is not fair to criticize him.. right?

  • My reason for criticizing him is that he insults people from Africa. Little he knows about the water pb on that continent. Please don't argue that he says "no offense" or that he's talking about a country which isn't actually the poorest in Africa. It makes no difference. He shouldn't have said it. U watched the video and liked the idea of traveling. I watched the video and saw a stupid, inconsiderate young man who travels on somebody else's money and dares to talk about fulfilling your dreams.

  • I'm not going to defend matt because i don't know him and i really don't care. For what he said about Africa, well that's his opinion. a very crude opinion that sucks.. but his opinion at the end and of course he shouldnt have said that. By the way i had the idea of traveling much before i saw this video, and fulfilling dreams are not the reason of traveling, that's just a fun cause. stop being rude and let people live it's live.. you live your own and be happy...

  • haha luciacobs an amazin doctor man, i think youll find she knows EVERYTHING... lol she snds like a prickkkk

  • He says that it is "Bad Manners" to talk about how much his trip cost... Here is his chance to tell thousands of wannabe world travelers valuable information... instead he finds it more valuable, and not of bad manners to tell us that African people stink and don't spend the bit of money they have on deodorant... ??

  • this interview is better than any motivational book or speech ever.

  • i agree with loravine :]

    i love the movies! =]

  • I wish I had your courage Matt...

    I really do...

    Thanks for your videos :)

  • I want to travel so badly

  • Matt's dancing videos are infectiously cheerful.

    I admire his courage.

    Two Questions:

Matt, are you ever going to improve your dancing skills?

Why was this interview done in such a noisy setting?

  • Wow, I wanna be a games designer, maybe Ill end up like Matt and explore the world :D

  • Matt, you've brought a LOT of joy to so many people.

  • wow salary range for game designer $42,719 - %72,896 dam....

  • dude chillax, you sound like you could use a good dance

  • Keep dancing Matt

  • when he was dancing in that beach in bolivia it was so disorientating :P it looked like the clouds are upside down

  • SOunds like non-white boy has a chip on his shoulder.

  • The 'behind the scenes' always takes the shine off one's personal interpretation. I think the original video stands alone as something strongly uplifting and pretty marvelous, and that should be the end of it. I wish I hadn't watched this clip.

  • The original video is great. And though he has a good point about just going out and doing something, he's a bit vague in its execution. Obviously, it seems to have helped that he didn't go to college (therefore no massive student loans to repay), got a solid-paying job at 19, and appears to not have come from the type of lower class background where debt accumulates at an early age. He was in a unique position to do this. Unfortunately, when his 15 minutes are up, he'll have to get a job.

  • yeah, but we've put man on the moon, and designed stealth bombers and race cars; more than any other race. White men will be fine

  • NuttZach206 :

don't fool yourself into thinking white males are the only inventors of worth in human history.

because that's what you sound like.

    READ A BOOK!

  • As opposed to still-strong stereotypes like women aren't as good as men, or whites are supirior? As a total group, white males have it the best. Everyone has stereotypes, but Caucasians, and males, are the least affected by their's.

  • I loved this video at first, watched it again & again. Then I saw the interview & thought about it more. Truth is, the world is safe & accessible for Matt Harding, white male w/ no kids. (No offense, white guys - PLEASE get in touch with your privilege!) Bashing "work" b/c you'd rather do whatever you want - saying Africans stink - is that really the best u can do? W/ his obvious influence & ability to spread joy, I hope Matt deepens his thinking & develops some ideas for real social change.

  • Good points, I've lived in Africa and though what Matt says is true, he could've not said it...c'est la vie...keep dancing Matt.

  • Ok... I love Matt's video's, but Matt thinks that it's BAD MANNERS to talk about how much it cost to travel the world, but its not bad manners to say that African people stink? Here is a chance to provide useful expense information to many wannabe world travellers, and instead he thinks its more useful to tell us that African people, who can barley afford food, don't buy deodorant and stink.

  • People have been 'dropping out and going' since the 1960s. Myself,it was when I was 22 and I just got up and left in 1997. 40 countries later I still travel once money is earned again. Matt didn't really say anything 'new', but it's clear that a lot of people needed some 'one' to inspire them so,and he was clever enough to have this 'theme' of the dancing vids. They are travellers out there with incredible life stories you wouldn't believe, but they're unknown as they're not in the public eye.

  • You know what, I had a hunch he was a game designer, before I even saw this video or read ur post. I dont know why or how..but I did. And I'm on my way to be a programmer too..and later on become a developer.

  • dont do interviews near habour. noisy

  • The Dancing Matt was so joyous and fun to watch, and really taught that the world is not such a big, bad place. Thanks for letting us live, at least for a minute, vicariously. And for all you who chose to focus on the deoderant comment, I feel sorry for you. You are stuck in the haze of minutae, and you really miss the point (and not for nothing, but right before he makes the comment he says "I hope I don't offend anyone here...")

  • Saying he's racist is just ridiculous, even saying he's generalizing is ridiculous. He said "deodorant is not very popular in Africa" not "All Africans don't wear deodorants". I think some of us are getting a bit touchy...

  • Nice interview but PLEASE use a mic next time!!

  • lucky!

  • Wow!- I don't think the comment was racist, it was generalized . Africans do wear deodorants. May be the ones in the bus he was in didn't - yep that was a comment that could have been interpreted differently -What say you Matt?

  • when i was a kid, i use to dance like this and thought the whole dance was goofy...little did i think someone would replace me and inspire the world to laugh as well as dance anywhich way they can. Thanks Matt for keeping this candle lit. Now if we can get all our world leaders to dance and resolve the worlds problems peacefully.

  • matt for the white house!

  • Check out the London underground on a mildly warm day ... Londoners stink with the best of em ... and they're supposed to be wannabe metrosexuals, LOL ... and as someone said, animals travel on buses in Africa ... face up to reality ... ... I don't think Matt was being insulting, it's just reality ... the problem is that not many have travelled to these countries ... so generally, the people who comment here are pulling their opinions right out of their asses (yea, they stink too). :)

  • i'm an american who has lived nearly ten years in africa and i think what matt has done is truely inspirational for us all. as far as the smelling bad comment goes, can he have his own opinion on the subject without being called a racist?!? that was HIS experience. he wasn't saying the whole continent smelled bad. give the guy a break!

  • The world needs more people like Matt Harding

  • hes good at putting smiles on peoples faces, this guy is my hero, and is a true human being.

  • he is the luckiest man on earth!!

  • I like Matt he has a nice personality and I like the way he dances and he is goodlooking

  • First off, who said it was South Africa, which at happens to be FAR more wealthy than, say, Rwanda and Uganda, where he is dancing in this clip with the kids? Are you saying that the parents of those kids in Rwanda are spending their money on deodorant and letting their kids starve those extra few dollars per month worth worrying about smell? If he'd said *SOUTH* Africa, which is even wealthier than Morocco and very white-ruled (hence European culture impact) by comparison, fine, but he didn't.

  • He didnt say there is no deodorant in Africa, he said its not very popular. And anyway, before he said it, he said "Hope I dont offend anyone here." He was just making a point, jeez.

  • el wn ingenioso

  • God Job Matt!! Gretting from Germany (Nrw)

  • I think we are in a broad agreement here. And no, I am only referring to some of the buses and it isn't just the passengers, often they have their livestock on the bus as well. In the cities it is a different picture. Personally I love Africa, smells and all :-)

  • serve and help others who are needy in some way, anyway. That always makes me happy.

  • I love this video! It is inspiring. You leap and take a risk and never know what the universe will bring you. I admire your passion. I love the kids in Africa and papua new guinea warriors dancing with you. I have been to all the U.S. places you went to. Been to Spain, Germany, Mexico. I have a lot of traveling to do. I am determined to find a way! Keep us updated on your life. Many blessings.

  • Cheers, Matt. Finally a useful YouTube video.

  • Amazing Mike...with all the literally MILLIONS of people all over the world who have viewed this 'Dance Around The World', you've just shifted our planets positive consciousness level and elevated it billions of degrees higher!

    Blessings to you

  • Believe me, what he says is true, I have been there, and got the unwashed t-shirt!.

  • what he says is true about what ?

  • I have travelled all over the part of Africa South of the Sahara, and if you travel on some of the buses in the rural areas the stench is very difficult to bear. But I accept someone else's point that it is more important in Africa to buy food for their children than on deodorant. I am involved with some charities over there that look after orphans of AIDs parents and also a one which supplies powdered milk to mothers who are H1V positive,

  • Ok however doesnt mean that africans stink...thats what americans always think when they hear africa..people running naked on street and HIV ...god i know those things exist in some african countries but thats not what all Africa is about. like i said stinky people are everywhere and god i cant even tell you how much it stinks when u get in the subway in Chicago..smells like poop

  • agreed...

  • i would also suggest adding "blithe spirit" to your other exceptional job descriptions!

  • wats that song???????

  • sweet lullaby

  • anyone know what the song is called that plays at the beginning?

  • Matt, You are a natural travel tour guide leader. Travel agents need people who like to travel.

  • Thats a good idea actually, what a good advert for a travel company.

  • a good advertisement travel or for nike or adidas.

  • I truly loved it and wish I could do the same. It moved me this one man kinda uniting us all through the computer.

  • Although I am an American and traveled throughout my life, I wish more Americans are more aware of the culture outside of the states like Matt here.

  • Somebody should create a new rating for Matt. 5 stars are just not enough. I smile every time I watch these

    :)

  • I wonder if you would consider removing that really stupid remark about African people smelling bad. Africa is hundreds of countries and thousands of cultures and most African people are insanely clean (3 baths a day). I never encountered African people who smell worse than some backpackers I've met. Deodorant IS popular in many African countries. In some countries, where you have to choose between eating and buying deodorant, a few people choose (silly, I know) to eat or feed their kids.

  • It's only through an American perspective. If you've been to Germany or other parts of Europe (with exception to France), nobody wore deodorant in the summer. I thought I was gonna die too from the major B.O. in the train, bus, etc. I say exception to the French because at least they have perfume/cologne.

  • Yea that was a little uncalled for and sounded just a bit ignorant.

  • wonder if he worked on cod4?

  • I believe he worked on Destroy All Humans!

  • No, it was his idea, which he proposed with tongue in cheek. They took it up so he resigned.

  • "there's no lock on the cage" Perfect
