yo naci en el año 90, y veo esto y me pregunto por que no pude haber nacido 15 años antes. que exlente concierto, con la excepcion del woodstock del 69, este el el suceso mas importante en el mundo de la musica.
Ending with "The Tide Is Turning" was a very well considered choice, if not popular or easily construed. We must keep in mind the historical context of this particularly concert, it's location, and the hopeful thought that the tide was indeed, turning.
Well, wait. They Did actually play Comfortably Numb, I'm sure of this.
But yes, replacing Outside the Wall by The Tide is Turning is a shame. I love both in fact, but, man... This is the Wall. He could have done the Tide is Turning as an encore...
Seriously... Roger Waters should sing "The Tide is Turning" at Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony. It would fit perfectly because the tide has definitely turned for America. It would be completely relevant to the ceremony. I certainly hope they at least consider it...
Ohhh!!! my God.....Cyndi Lauper your voice is an angel voice. Is tremendous, amazing and wonderfull. The emotion and power of your voice...God bless you
Yes my brothers & sisters around the world, all races, all religions, & all nationalities, never is it more true than today 18 years after this historic concert, we must once again Turn The Tide, and remember that we are all brothers on this wonderful planet. We must preserve this earth of ours for our children, and above all we must get along globally, no more hate, no more wars. All humans for humanity, respect your brother, as you wish he respect you. Peace unto you my brothers & sisters.
Well.. i must say, ths song may not have been my favourite ending of The Wall, but perhaps.. because of the political state the world was in at the time, this is the perfectly right ending, gives us The Wall from another perspective.. like, this ending changes the whole thing.. something like that
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
huge show, but a distinct lack of proffesional polish and sheen.
At times it seemed cobbled together, if not a bit obscure and egotistic. This speaks more volumes as a Roger Waters self indulgence, than any political message.
Bueno, para meter mas leña en el fuego, lo que yo hubiera hecho es acabar con la ultima cancion que hay en album "The Wall" i hacer "The Tide is Turnig" de bis.
Yes, this was the best song on Radio Kaos. Putting it at the end of The Wall is like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa... of course this whole *production* is like that... it should never have been done without the other members of Pink Floyd.
(1 of 2)I agree with you partially. Some of the things that were added for this concert seemed a little trite and/or pretentious and purely from Roger Water's ego. That being said, I still think its has nothing to do with the wall the pink floyd album. This was a necessary deviation for the people of germany at the time. The significance of this event in history cannot be overlooked.
(2 of 3)It seems to me that the rest of the band is at fault as much as Roger for not realising how much more this could have been with them and their inpute. An entire nation can overcome its problems but not the members of a rock band?
You would not have been missed...... The significance of the events of the times (Spring 1990) is lost on you. The tide was indeed turning and final song is very fitting. The Berlin Wall had been taken down. The Soviet Union was at the start of dissolution. People were getting their freedom after years of totalitarianism. 300,000 of us were there. We wouldn't have noticed the number drop to 299,000.
I believe Roger Waters's Concert had over 500,000 people, especially after he opened the gates for the people outside to join in and enjoy the show.. I am pretty sure it was in the millions, but definitely 500,000 people.

Here's how it should have ended:
All alone, or in two's,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists make their stand.
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall.

Come on... Anyway, i like to think of this concert as a totally separate artistic monster from The Wall by Pink Floyd.
This is deffinately a Roger Waters production as opposed to anything by Pink Floyd.
Now, Does anyone have a problem with that? Am I about to get flamed? Bring it.
