I spin Hardcore and Gabber, and judging by the synths and the bass its just Hardcore with a lower BPM. Some artists record Hardcore at a lower BPM because of the pitch range that CDJs and computer software can reach. (I've bought hardcore tracks that just barely reach 165 BPM before)

If you want to get more in depth, it actually has more of an NRG Hardcore sound with the drums and the first breakdown and build up. Also, only Hardcore has the breakdown to build up ratio that is used.

Lol Opinions. I happen to love Happy Hardcore; you get enough of the bass, the bass/reverb goes into different notes(usually 5ths), and it's fastpaced, when Hardcore/Hardstyle doesn't have to be that fast. Plus, the synths are jammin', nigga!

The only thing I can give Hardcore is that it can have different "tones", like it can generate different feelings, while Happy Hardcore is either sappy or happy, a one trick pony.
